What is it with these fucking rich people shows?
Crimson Platypus replied to Damaramu's topic in Television & Film
Only part of the original post I disagreed with. Fuck the rich bastards. Hell I come from an upper class (not quite rich though) family, and I've had to work for everything I have. Most of the people that I went to school with were rich fucks who's parents spoiled the hell out of them. Made me glad my parents came from a poor background and raised me the way they did. -
NBA Live 2005 needs technicals and flagrants.
Crimson Platypus replied to The Czech Republic's topic in Video Games
This reminds me of when the football games used to allow hitting after the play and I took out Brett Favre as often as possible when playing my Packer fan friend. Exactly why these types of things ARE needed. (But damn I enjoyed that) -
You're correct. I will not ever convince you. But I would like to point out that very few athletes complain about not making enough money. Which is exactly why it is so absurd when one does complain about it.
-
Nothing you could ever say can convince me that $70 million ($7mill x 10 year career if lucky) isn't enough. Nothing.
-
Oh and to answer the question posed above, I'd HAPPILY take a pay cut to pay for a winner. Without a second thought.

The bullshit "feeding my family" crap needs to stop. If a two income family making $60,000 a year can live comfortably (with proper budgeting anyway) then these assholes making $7MILLION need to shut the fuck up about feeding their families. Here is an idea, don't spend your money like it's going out of style and you won't have a problem. With intelligent spending, a person making $7 million a year should only need about a 5 year career to have him, his wife, his baby momma, and his 7 kids set for life.

Yeah that was real nice of the Steelers to rework Bettis' contract to fit being a backup and then give him tons of carries. I think that people are missing the key words in this: I think that he is saying that after winning a Super Bowl you should then get paid. Like alkeiper said, the Patriots will be just as quick to dump a player who's skills are on the decline as that same player would be to jump to a team that is willing to pay him top dollar while he can still play at 100%.

So is he supposed to give some strange kid a $100,000 necklace? How long do you think it would take for someone to steal a $100,000 necklace from a paralyzed kid? What a stupid non-story...

I've actually been to a Kane County/Lansing game

There's a shock... Edge lost to HHH. Yay.

Heavy Metal and subgenre description
Crimson Platypus replied to Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye's topic in Music
Please allow me to do so? Though most of these should come as no shock. Slayer - Reign In Blood The definitive thrash metal album. 33 minutes of pure, uncompromising speed and shock that still remains unmatched to this day. Metallica - Master of Puppets Technical mastery with the speed of hardcore punk, and enough melody to keep even non-metalheads listening after nearly 20 years. Megadeth - Rust In Peace Megadeth's best album, and the best album of any of the "Big 5" in the 1990's. Anthrax - Fistful of Metal I've never really been an Anthrax fan, but they've always seemed to represent the more "punk" side of thrash metal, so check it out. Exodus - Bonded By Blood A fun listen. That's all I can really say. Exodus' lyrics have always been terrible, but the music is solid, featuring such metal classics as the title track, "Bonded by Blood," and "Piranha." I listened to a lot of Testament back in the day along with all mentioned in this quote. Still my favorite music. -
My fingers are crossed for Chris Rock or DMX. And yes, I'm serious. Time to bring to an end this "James Bond is white" stereotype. I'd be down with that if, and only if, they played it straight. No "Chris Rock Bond" crap. In fact the best way to do that would be to NEVER MENTION THAT HE'S BLACK. Just write the script for BOND not for BLACK BOND. Anything else would just suck all kinds of ass (fat ass, thin ass, stinky ass, clean ass, ALL kinds).

Ugh, 29th... So al, how would a team go about improving their farm system? I guess I don't really know how the system works. One thing that I have noticed is that my local minor league team, the Lansing Lugnuts, has switched from K.C. to the Cubs, to now being affiliated with Toronto. Is that a common occurance? By the way, I love going to their games, minor league baseball is a blast, cheap too - I get season tickets every year.

Discuss your Super Bowl Memories...
Crimson Platypus replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in Sports
Super Bowl XVII Washington 27, Miami 17 Watching the Redskins dominate the Dolphins, loving every carry by John Riggins, just a bruising performance by the fullback. Despite the outcome of the game I somehow came away from that a Dolphins fan. Probably because, as an 8 year old, I liked their uniforms? Can't be sure, but yeah there ya go. -
And the thing is... he had TERRIBLE teams around him for most of his career. Again I say that I wish I could find some Jim Brown games to compare, but until I see Brown play, Payton is the best ever in my eyes. Ripper, how about we just agree to disagree? Theres no way either of us are going to convince the other to change his mind eh?

The only team mentioned that I even give a damn about isn't even playing. Damn hockey idiots.
-
Yup. Stoudimire > Yao in every way. Also it's too bad AK-47 has been (is?) hurt for so long, despite looking like some kind of mutant the guy can play some ball

Isn't the Iron Shiek dead?

Both of those writers come off as bitter crybabies who feel the need to attack someone who left their team for greener pastures. No matter what Dillon ever said or did OFF the field, he always gave 100% ON the field, for a team that was well below bad. There is no way anyone can doubt that. He never got in trouble for anything like drugs or smacking his woman around, never got drunk and drove around like an idiot, so who cares if he wanted his team to show they were dedicated to winning? I'm neither a Bengals fan or a Patriots fan (in fact, as a Dolphins fan for about 22 years now, I have a rather intense hatred for the Pats) but I do like Dillon, he's one of my favorite RBs in the NFL and I think that he is getting unjustly dumped on by the Cinn. media for leaving a terrible organization for a great one, and for no other reason than that.

How do you starve a Mexican? Hide his food stamps under his work boots.

So do I, I just cheat rampantly.

Who does Iowa have inside this year? I haven't had a chance to see them play yet. It seems like they always have one or two nice big guys and a couple of decent shooters. MSU plays @ Iowa on Saturday in what could be a second straight loss for the Spartans if they don't get their heads on straight after not getting it together last night.
