The really frustrating thing about MSU is that this senior class of Alan Anderson, Chris Hill and Kelvin Torbert had so much promise that they just have not realized. AA is a hell of a player, just terribly inconsistent. Chris Hill is one of the top ten pure shooters in the NCAA, unfortunately he plays defense like his feet are glued to the floor. Kelvin Torbert was the #1 player in the country coming out of H.S. and is now the 6th man. KT can jump out of the gym, has decent outside shooting ability, but simply doesn't exist when it really matters, in crunch time of a big game. This team has a big problem with not being able to win big games. They choked against Wisconsin, missing a bunch of free throws down the stretch that would probably have clinched a win there. Duke demolished them, and I really don't think that the Blue Devils are that much better than them. I really wish that Izzo would shorten his bench a bit. For example, against Oakland this past Saturday, he had 10 players with 12 or more minutes. Part of that I think was that Paul Davis sat out with an ankle injury, but then again against Michigan Thursday there were 8 players with 17 or more minutes. I'd like to see them go with the starting line up of: Chris Hill - PG Maurice Ager - SG Alan Anderson - SF Matt Trannon - PF Paul Davis - C Matt Trannon is not getting nearly enough playing time, he gets tons of rebounds, plays solid defense, and hustles every play. Not bad for coming from the football team (WR, can't catch tho). Maurice Ager would average 30 points per on lots of teams in college, easily MSU's best player right now, and an unconscious shooter. The bench should look like this: (in order) Shannon Brown - SG Drew Neitzel - PG Kelvin Torbert - SF Delco Rowley - PF Drew Naymick - C 10 guys still, however of those, only the first three would get more than 10 minutes per. Rowley and Naymick should only get 10 or more in the case of foul trouble or injury. Anyway sorry about the long post, I got a bit carried away there...

In response to people saying that T.O. is an attention whore, etc... Bottom line is that it's the Super Bowl. A man would do whatever it takes to suit up and contribute to his team's victory. I think that T.O.'s mindset is that of a very competitive player who wants to do anything to win a game, and there is no bigger game than the Super Bowl. Like someone else said, he may not be back to the SB anytime soon, if ever. Hypothetically speaking lets say he doesn't play Sunday and never has the chance to do so again. He'll spend the rest of his life regretting not playing NO MATTER WHAT THE RISK WAS. Again, hypothetically speaking, lets say he does play Sunday but injures himself, ending his career. Win or lose he will always know that he did the best he could to help his team (and himself) win the Super Bowl. Which one would you choose? I don't know about you guys, but I personally am ultra-competitive, something that I think T.O. is as well. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, that if it were up to me, given those two situations I posted, I would take the second one 100 out of 100 times.

1. Illinois 21-0 2. Kansas 16-1 3. North Carolina 17-2 4. Duke 16-1 5. Boston College 18-0 6. Kentucky 16-2 7. Oklahoma State 15-3 8. Syracuse 20-2 9. Wake Forest 17-3 10. Oklahoma 16-3 11. Washington 17-3 12. Louisville 18-3 13. Cincinnatti 17-3 14. Michigan State 14-3 15. Alabama 17-3 16. Maryland 13-5 17. Gonzaga 15-4 18. Wisconsin 14-4 19. Texas 15-5 20. Villanova 12-4 21. Pittsburgh 14-3 22. Arizona 17-4 23. Georgia Tech 12-6 24. Texas A&M 14-4 25. Vermont 15-3 That might be a bit high still for MSU. The big test comes tomorrow where I expect them to lose to Illinois by 10+. Anything under that and I will consider it a victory of sorts. Also, didn't have a chance to give you shit for that game on Thursday lomas

I think that Rod Gardner is very underrated due to having absolute shite throwing to him for his entire career. He could explode if traded to a team with even a decent QB (Pennington, with McCairens and Moss would be pretty nice imo). Still waiting to hear that Miami is talking to Travis Henry. Or Edgerrin James. Or any goddamn FA RB. Dammit.

I'd guess Boone

This is my biggest problem with TNA. It's the EXACT same thing (well, son-in-law/son but yeah). At least HHH is good in the ring. Jarrett is horrible.

The "What Film(s) Did You Watch Today" Thread
Crimson Platypus replied to a topic in Television & Film
8/10 - Freaking hilarious movie. I haven't laughed so hard watching a movie sober in a long time. Steve Carrell stole this one for me. "LOUD NOISES" is all I have to say about his performance in the movie. -
That video is easily the coolest thing I have ever seen in a GTA game...

That's insane. Hopefully I'll be sitting in the good seats, my parents have two sets, one of which is two rows in front of Magic Johnson's dad (and Magic whenever he shows up, which is a pain in the ass because of all the autograph seekers getting in my way). Otherwise I'll be behind the basket nearest the band. I don't know about them running the Big Ten after State and Illinois though, they lost to Indiana, who sucks something fierce, and Wisconsin already beat them. I'm thinking that they are not going to be able to beat Wisco again (if they play them again that is).

I by no means meant my post to be stating that I don't think that Lewis is a good fighter. I also agree that he has a rather unique combination of size and ability. But I just think that he isn't worthy of any kind of "best ever" talk. As far as the Tyson/Lewis age thing, age is certainly no indication of being in prime shape. Tyson peaked at a fairly young age, Lewis peaked a bit older. They just happened to fight when Lewis was at the top of his game and Tyson was, in my opinion, a shell of his former self. I contend that a prime Tyson treats a prime Lewis like prime rib.
-
Tyson and Holyfield were both WELL past their primes when Lewis beat them. Tommy Morrison? Joke Razor Ruddock? Ditto Hasim Rahman was a one punch bum who got lucky once. David Tua showed promise early in his career, now? Joke. Andrew Golota? Captain Nut Punch/Horrendous fighter. Frank Bruno? Just an awful fighter. I like Lewis and think that he's a pretty good fighter, but that list of opponents sort of weakens him in my eyes. What a horrible bunch of fighters. I personally think that Tyson and Holyfield, in their primes, would have destroyed Lewis. Remember when people were arguing that Tyson might have beaten Ali (not that I think that btw)? Ali would have toyed with Lewis...

edited for accuracy hahah nice, inconsistent sure, but I'd take him over Chris Hill any day lomas... I'll be at that game tonight, expecting a tough fought win for my Spartans!

Oh boo-fucking-hoo, get a job you sack of shit.

Michigan's point guard Daniel Horton was just suspended for allegedly choking his girlfriend. That sucks for them, he's pretty damn good.

I may not understand the way NFL Europe works, but if a team was worried about Mike Williams being away from football for a year couldn't they just draft him, have him play overseas for the summer and then bring him back in time for training camp? Granted he would be a little tired, but maybe just have him play for half the year there or something like that to get in "game shape"? Miami just hired both the O-Coordinator and the WR Coach from Minnesota, anyone think it might be a prelude to some Moss to Miami rumors?
-
I second this entire post. Well put all around.
-
An excellent trade for both teams.
-
Randy Moss > Mike Williams ever will be, attitude and all. -edit- and Mike Williams will (I think) be pretty damn good
-
So yeah I'm about 90% sure I'm right, but maybe someone could settle an arguement I had the other day with my girlfriend... Was Chicago a movie or a musical first?
-
Sweet, do you know of anywhere that I can point to on the web for proof? IMDB brought up a whole bunch of stuff that really didn't help much. That answer = not paying for the next three dinners.

Why skip the first volume JasonX? (seriously have no idea why)
-
I think someone has to think he is good to call him overrated. Why did they give him a big contract? One word: Potential.
-
Well if he only worked 6 months out of the year I guess we know why he didn't make it in the NFL.

Nick Saban names Offensive Coordinator
Crimson Platypus replied to Crimson Platypus's topic in Sports
If they don't grab a QB in the first round the only other acceptable position (assuming they get a FA RB) would be O-line. The o-line was absolutely horrendous this year, and hasn't really been any good in about 5 years. -
Anyone know anything about him?
