Social Security...not really doomed?

Dibs on your SS money! I called it first!! -
Chicago will probably be in a position to draft Braylon Edwards or Mike Williams. They ain't trading up for shit. I hope Mike Williams. We had a highly regarded WR come out of Michigan a few years ago by the name of David Terrell... so that soured me on Michigan receivers. On that note allow me to reiterate what I have said many times about UofM players in general. They rarely have a huge amount of success in the NFL. The reason for that is simple: They usually have such a great team that the individual players end up looking better than they really are. Running backs run better behind thier above average O-lines, QBs throw better to above average WRs, etc...

I just want the money that I put into it to come back to me. No one else. As it stands I am out an extra x dollars every other week that I will NEVER see again, and probably NEVER benefit from. Bullshit. -
I'm not so sure that the Dolphins are going to draft RB. With all the rumors of Edge or Alexander possibly going to Miami I think it's best to wait on that. If they don't end up getting one of those two (also, Travis Henry) I would love for them to draft Benson. Dama, if I were in charge of the Pats, I would trade some picks for next year, the year after, etc... They are pretty much set atm, a big play WR would be nice, but totally unnecessary.

Comparing a natural disaster to a terrorist attack is absurd.

What a waste of truely good sarcasm

Yeah and if a person didn't "choose" to be gay, then god must have "made" them that way. I could be wrong but I remember reading somewhere that god made man in his own image (or something to that effect) so does that mean that god is gay?

I think that's what they call it when you skip work/school right?

I think its funny how a team that isn't in the top 20 could be the most overrated team in the country. Biased a little?

How Reggie White's death ties into steriods

I get so tired of hearing people rip on the Lions o-lines while Barry was there. Look at the Pro-Bowls for those years. They had at least one, and sometimes two linemen in the Pro-Bowl almost every year. That arguement is baseless. Earl Campbell was a badass, Payton, Dickerson, Bo Jackson was probably the best pure athlete I have ever seen, never seen Jim Brown but he averaged 5 yards a carry and over 100 (I think like 103) yards a game for his CAREER! The thing is, Payton was the entire Bears offense when he was there. The speed of Barry, the power of Bettis, he did it all, the guy was simply amazing. -
It's early yet but I'd guess 3 or 4 from the Big Ten, those being Illinois, Iowa, MSU, maybe UofM. Wisconsin seems to always be right there too, so maybe 5?

Because everyone is still fixated on the notion that Gonzaga is a Cinderella team, because they play in a low-major conference, even though they were top-5 in the country last year. It's one of the reasons why I'm glad the polls in college basketball are totally useless, unlike college football. I 100% agree, all that matters in college basketball is making the tourney. I think that as long as they keep it up, the Zags could have a good chance at a high seed in March. I believe that the WCC is a top 10 conference in the RPI rankings right now too, so that should help their seeding.

No thinking for you! -edit- Doesn't seem like scripture is open to much of anything really.

Anyone know of a website that lists the salaries for NFL coaches? Tried google but I'm not finding anything..

Vitamin X, you had me until you said Payton isn't the greatest RB ever. I strongly disagree. The dude was a badass. (of course, my opinion only, and I won't argue it) As far as him being juiced, iirc he was rather well known for having an incredibly harsh workout routine. I really doubt he was on the stuff, but sure, it's possible. Just unlikely. -
I wouldn't mind seeing Crennel in San Francisco, next year. He can't be any worse than Dennis Erickson. A blind deaf mute can't be worse than Erickson.

Saying something stupid is a far cry from being a bigot.

Yeah yeah, he was a great football player, but lets get off the whole "The world has lost out" bullshit. He was a bigot. End of story. Hating on gays doesn't make you a great person, it makes you an asshole.

Big 10 hoops hasn't been good in years. Illinois, and Michigan St. are the only real Top 25 teams. Sorry, but Iowa needs to prove it the whole season. I know that it's kind of off-topic, but I just can't let this go. Michigan State is the most overrated team in the country, and will be lucky to even make the tournament by the time it comes around. Meanwhile, Iowa is a legit Elite 8 team, and the only team in the Big Ten who has a real shot at knocking off Illinois. Basing how good a team is off their name value can lead to egregious errors. What? That's just idiotic. MSU will be there come Tourney time. Oh and iirc you're a UofM guy? Yeah okay, good luck in the NIT again.

I'm sure the only way Miami was going to get him was if he had control of personel. Coming from a Dolphin fan, I'm excited about this. Great coach with a good eye for quality players. For the first time in a long while I'm excited about the draft/free agent period. Should be a good off-season. It will be interesting to see what kind of offense he runs there. As for Bates, I hope that Saban keeps him there, they have worked together in the past, and as said before the players love the guy.

ESPN: A.P. to pull out of BCS next season
Crimson Platypus replied to MikeJordan23's topic in Sports
I disagree. The reason people don't watch or attend the lesser bowls is because they don't mean anything. Really who cares if a game decides if Georgia Tech goes 7-6 or 8-5? But if that game decided if GT advances to the next round??? A playoff would actually only need to have say the top 10, 1 and 2 get a first round bye. No one outside the top ten realistically has a chance anyway. People would watch, guarenteed.
