Ever felt like you just can't get the right job?
Darthtiki replied to Damaramu's topic in General Chat
I'm in the midst of a job search, however my degree while a Communications degree is concentrated in Entertainment Studies which really I guess makes me eligible to be an assistant or something. Unfortunately, it seems that everyone requires at least a year of experience in the industry, which doesn't make any sense for entry level work. -
Dawson's Creek It was my 90210, though I think it fell off by the end.

Star Trek I may not be the biggest of Trekkies anymore, but I remember about 12 years old every Saturday night the local Fox affiliate in Sacramento would run Star Trek and my brothers and I would watch it.

Dazed & Confused- Dir. Richard Linklater 1993 Great movie with a killer soundtrack about the last day of school deep in the heart of Texas in 1976. The film would feature many up and comers such as Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich

That sounded like Stuart Scott on the voiceover

If Meltz's report is true, where was the UFC's lobbyist to you know testify at the hearing and clear stuff up to the committee and answer the tired "human cockfighting" charge? It sounds to me that either A) Dana so confident in the popularity of the product that they didn't bother to show at the hearing in some form or another or B) they either had a shitty lobbyist or no lobbyist at all on the ground in NY.

I have a distinct feeling that John Wooden will be the perennial all-star on my list after seeing him on stage with Vin Scully on Friday

It would be nice if people PM me. Enough with the bitching, here's my pick: Feasting on Asphalt/Waves I am a huge Alton Brown fan and I think this summer series in its 3rd season provides an amazing adventure. This season, they trade in the bike for a boat and hit the Caribbean.

Since I've got two picks apparently I'm picking: Fight Club- Dir. David Fincher 1999 This movie is just so out there it's hard to describe it. Grosse Pointe Blank- Dir. George Armitage 1997 Funny, violent, sweet and a killer soundtrack to boot. One of Cusack's best and plus Jeremy Piven in a great supporting role.

No one I assume had Tim Russert of Meet the Press

The Muppet Show Who doesn't love the muppets. Also, the humor was really geared more for older audiences.

From the AT&T store rep. Right now my current voice plan is 40 a month for the same amount of minutes you get with the base iPhone plan and they told my add 30 for data, which would be $70 a month + taxes

What the fuck do you do Thoth? -
Plans will be 70-130 a month

Fuck...I was hoping GG would be there.

They've come to terms with Randy again. I'm just throwing it out there.
-
Angel - Joss Whedon Since no one else was taking it, may as well complete the sweep. Left the air way too soon.
-
Friday Night Lights- Developed by Peter Berg My favorite show on TV right now.

I have the Deadheads and Phish fans on lines one and two.... My moral, upstanding citizen side says that losing a child is unfortunate in any respect. However the side of me that is thinking about the welfare of the child and as a taxpayer, that you are on to something. -
Go - Dir. Doug Liman 1999 The second of my Doug Liman pre-Bourne picks, this multi angled story takes place in the rave scene of LA. The cast was solid with a pre-Mothership Katie Holmes, Timothy Olyphant (with the beginnings of his dick mode that would serve him in the future), Taye Diggs, Breckin Meyer, Jay Mohr and Scott Wolf. The soundtrack is probably one of my favorites of all time with "New" by No Doubt and others.

Swingers - Dir. Doug Liman 1996 One of my favorite films during the time in the mid to late 1990s that I refer to as "When Miramax ruled the earth". Great, quotable script showing the culture of LA nightlife at the time with a great cast of Jon Favreau (who wrote the film), Vince Vaughn, Heather Graham and Ron Livingston. The soundtrack owned with swingin' cuts by Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra. Plus how can you not love a movie that features video game hockey and the line "I'm gonna make Wayne Gretzky's head bleed for Superfan #99 over here"

June 9 Gen. 2 iPhone will be announced and allegedly will drop somewhere around June 15. Excellent...I'm planning on getting one when my contract ends.

Buffy: The Vampire Slayer - Joss Whedon Since most of this board is a bunch of Whedonites, I don't need to say any more.

FINALLY. FUCK. Who would shit on you for liking this and why? I don't care if I get shit on, if people think my choices are too mainstream or what not then who gives a shit. However, VX I agree with Jorge it was a great pick. For my next pick, I'm breaking my rule of one artist as well: Garbage- Garbage 1995 This album was an impulse buy for me after seeing Shirley and the guys perform on the 1996 MTV Movie Awards, and since then I never regretted purchasing the album.
