MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
Darthtiki replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I watched the entire smoker bout of Kim Couture's, she held her own in the first round but the other two she was completely dominated by the jab it seemed. During the post fight interview, Randy (possibly taking a page out of the Tim Sylvia playbook) said that she was suffering from illness and that explains why she was gassed. -
Spice Girls- Spice (1996) While it may cost me votes, this album is a great overall pop album. Almost every song has a great beat. Songs like "2 Become 1", Naked, and "Who Do You Think You Are" have a very sexy vibe in their own subtle ways.

Anyone use the Yahoo stream? Unfortunately, I have to intern now and my station is too cheap to spring for the fight as well as don't care about MMA

Tragic Kingdom- No Doubt (1995) While this album didn't quite take off until the following year, this disc was the one that put No Doubt on the map spawning the singles "Just A Girl", "Spiderwebs", "Don't Speak", "Excuse Me Mister" and "Sunday Morning" even songs like "Hey You" and "World Go Round" are still listenable with a great So-Cal summery sweetness. On a personal level it was a disc that introduced me to the Orange County musical landscape at the time.

Oh crap I just remembered when Carl's Jr. ran the Kings Bobblehead promotion in Sacramento. The first year they did it started out slow but then the Kings went on a tear on their way to the '02 playoffs and those things took the hell off. The following year was bad too, considering I had to wait until about 11 in the morning for like 5 Wednesdays to pick them up.

Monopoly old version and the 2003-04 version when partnered with Best Buy and you didn't have a cap on how many of the BB bucks you could use on an item. Also, BK had some cool ones like the triple jump checkers, pokemon toys just for the pokeballs. Though I swear when Taco Bell did the stuff for Star Wars SE in 97 I had almost every toy. I also remember when McDonalds would do the Disney Christmas ornaments I still have my Sebastian the crab. Ced, I so wish we were friends back then. The scary thing is when that beanie baby thing happened that McDonalds was brand new. Oh how time flies.

Carl's Jr./Hardee's has a Cap'n Crunch milkshake now. It would be better with Crunch Berries

I'm currently interning for a large market CW affiliate and honestly the highest rated programming on a consistent basis is "Family Guy" reruns or so I've heard.

I like Madden as well, but a free market promotes innovation instead of the same game more or less each year with a couple little gimmicky minute selling points. On a different topic, what the take on both developers NHL series'?

As if it couldn't get bad enough...Fox Business Channel is reporting that EA has put up an 2 Billion dollar unsolicited bid for Take Two.

Live at the Roxy- Social Distortion, 1998 One of the best live discs I've heard. As a veteran of many Social D shows, I can say that this faithfully captures the raw energy of their performances, especially to a hometown Southern California crowd. Additionally, the disc takes on a bittersweet sentiment for fans of the band as this was the last disc featuring original bassist Dennis Danell who passed away in 2000.

There's a truck stop in Sacramento I hear has a killer breakfast, however I've never been there.

I would like to see an update of Mechwarrior 2. I remember having that for my PC and some fucker stealing the disc from me.

Version 2.0 - Garbage 1998 The reason I picked this was first off, I've gone through about 4 copies of this disc in 10 years. Each song on the album is enjoyable in its own right. Shirley Manson's vocals are top notch. The album runs the gamut from synth-poppy goodness with "Special", "When I Grow Up" and "I Think I'm Paranoid" to fast paced techno infused cuts like "Hammering in my Head" "Temptation Waits" and "Push It" as well as moody trip-hop ballads in "The Trick is to Keep Breathing" and "You Look So Fine". The album, if reissued for a 10th Anniversary edition would be made even better with some of the single B-sides that were on par, if not better than some of the songs that made the final cut such as "Deadwood", "Can't Seem to Make You Mine", "Afterglow" and "Lick the Pavement".
