Good job for Wilson who kept himself alive with some long clutch putts yesterday, especially on the first playoff hole where it looked like he was toast. From what I've gathered on Wilson he turned pro in 1997 and played for the University of North Carolina where he was the Ben Hogan Award winner (best NCAA golfer) in 1996. He was also the Wisconsin state golf champion as a freshman. His best finish last year was a tie for 9th at the Chrysler Classic of Tucson and out of 24 tournaments he made the money sixteen times but only made one top ten. Pgatour.com's media guide didn't have very much information other than this. It looks like this guy has been in and out of the PGA and Nationwide tours for a while and lost his tour card last year before regaining it at Q School this year with a tie for 29th.

Definitely agree. I think it's really stupid that all the WGC Championships are being contested in the United States. Just absolutley ridiculous. Also, DEFINITELY agree with this.

Just what we need, a conservative independent running to split the vote and hand the Clinton's the White House for the third time. I think Bill Richardson is a pretty good VP candidate for any of the Democrats who might win. Hell, I'm still putting money on a candidate that comes in late to the race because people are going to grow tired of all of this "Hillary!....Obama!.....Hillary!.....Obama!" stuff in the media.

Speaking of Quebecers vs. Headshrinkers, the crowd is absolutley ELECTRIC for that match. I'd list it up there with one of my favorite RAW matches of all time.

Well Adam Scott is first number one seed to bite the dust at the end of day number one. I guess we all should have given Shaun Micheel more credit, after all he won the PGA Championship several years ago and did beat Tiger in the HSBC match-play last year. I always suck @ predicting this thing as is evident by having 3 of my 8 quarter-finalists knocked out on the first day including both players I had picked for the finals. Oh well. The matchup I'm most interested in for the second round is probably Ogilvy and Olazabal although Tiger Woods and Tim Clark should be a fun match too. I also think if Nick O'Hern advances to the round of 16 that Tiger might have some trouble with him.

Well Bradley Dredge messed up my predictions by routing Els 4 & 2. John Rollins is also getting pounded by Vijay Singh which is surprising since Singh barely survives when he does win in the match play. Also, hats off to Stephen Ames for bouncing back from last years beating by Woods and winning 8 & 7 over Robert Karlsson.

- Hulk Hogan - Bret Hart I recently saw a fun match between Roddy Piper and Perfect and Piper kicked out of the Perfect-plex as well.

If Warrior somehow wins the rights to all of that footage just think of how much its going to screw up those "collection" DVDs they are releasing. I laugh at the thought of a release of WM 6 that is minus the Hogan-Warrior main event.

Here's a copy of the bracket: http://i.pgatour.com/pgatour/docs/accenture-match-play.pdf My predictions: Quarter-Finals: #1 Tiger Woods vs. #10 Aaron Baddeley (Bobby Jones) #12 Charles Howell III vs. #2 Ernie Els (Ben Hogan) #5 David Toms vs. #15 John Rollins (Gary Player) #1 Adam Scott vs. #6 Jose Maria Olazabal (Sam Snead) Semi-Finals: #1 Tiger Woods vs. #2 Ernie Els #15 John Rollins vs. #6 Jose Maria Olazabal Finals: #2 Ernie Els vs. #15 John Rollins Final Placings: 1st-Ernie Els 2nd-John Rollins 3rd-Tiger Woods 4th-Jose Maria Olazabal

Yea, match play is very random. You could shoot a 66 (assuming you count what you would have made on the hole regardless of if you won it or not) but if your opponent catches fire and birdies everything in sight then you can lose. I remember the first year the match play occurred in 1999 Jeff Maggert shot a 73 or so in his first round match and won because his opponent shot a 76 and then went on to win the tournament. It's funny b/c if he had played anyone else in the first round he would have lost. I expect Tiger to at least win one match in this event but he has lost to the #64 seed before. I think it was three years ago he lost to Peter Lonard 2 & 1 or so in the match play when he was the #1 seed. There are just a lot of variables in the tournament and while golf enthusiasts enjoy it because they usually know most of the players on the PGA and European tours, networks hate it because they could end up with a Sunday showdown between two guys no one knows or care about.

Well now that we are done with the Nissan is everyone amped up for the Match Play this coming week? Haven't decided who I'm going to pick yet but one thing is for certain: Vijay Singh won't make it past round two.

I find it funny that for all the discipline in the Clinton camp they still haven't figured out how to handle the Iraq war issue in a way that reinforces Hillary's "security credentials" and appeases the far left wing of the party. Also, it's going to get really interesting when the Clinton war machine has to be put into action against Obama and how the public and black voters in particular react to that.
-
Good to see Charles Howell III pick up a victory today over Phil in the Nissan. He's having a very good year that the media is ignoring and I think this victory puts him at the top of the FedEx Cup race.

I just thought the judging was ridiculous in the preliminary rounds. Nate's first dunk was really good and MJ just sat there and gave it an 8.
-
So THAT gets all ten's but Howard's didn't get shit? RIIIIGHHHTT. Impressive dunk but the finals was lame.
-
I don't think Robinson has any more dunks left in the bag that he can do we haven't already seen.
-
This is a much better dunk contest than I was expecting.
-
What is with these judges? Especially MJ, he seems to be giving 8's to everyone and their mother out there. The "sticker on the backboard" dunk had me in stitches.

Sounds unlikely but it is VERY possible next year because states like California are moving to put their primaries closer to New Hampshire. If this happens its possible that a great portion of the delegates will be taken within the first two months of the nomination calendar and no one having a majority. Realistically, I'd prefer this because there isn't any excitement at the conventions anymore. That said, I fully expect whoever wins Iowa or New Hampshire to blitz thru and win nearly all the delegates but there's an outside chance the Democratic primary could get split early if Edwards is able to win Iowa and Nevada, Clinton or Obama wins NH, and Edwards/Clinton/Obama win SC. SC is more of a tossup due to Edwards Carolina roots, Hillary winning the support of black leaders, and then Obama being a prominent black candidate in state where the majority of Democratic primary voters are black. I also have an interesting question: why are black leaders falling in behind the Clintons? Also, will black voters follow these leaders in supporting Clinton or flock to Barack?
-
Well so much for Al Gore running. I thought he had the best chance of any candidate to defeat Hillary.
-
Wasn't expecting that out of Kapono there. Dirk is all kinds of awful through the first three racks.
-
Sucks for MVP 2007 but then again we all know EA doesn't give a crap about anything other than football games anymore....although I've always wanted to try that Rugby game they have.
-
Are the spring training games free on mlbtv?
-
I picked Kapono. Jones looked a litlte gassed when he got to that last rack.
