I REALLY hope a baby explanation promo doesn't start RAW.

Three things (at least in the WWF): 1-Hogan held him down in 1987 2-He lost to LT @ WM 11 losing most his credibility 3-The Klique help him back post-WM 11 so he never got the world title push he was promised

Feuds That Could Have Happened But Never Did
Danville_Wrestling replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
Actually, wasn't Roberts supposed to start a feud with Hogan while he was still heel, but the crowds ended up cheering for Roberts, so he was turned face? I could be wrong, but I seem to remember hearing that somewhere. This sounds right. I think they had a segment where Robert DDT'd Hogan and the crowd popped huge for it. Afterwards the WWE brass agreed that the feud wouldn't work and Roberts has said he was cool with it because it would not help business to have Hogan booed like that. It always makes me sad how Roberts turned out because he was definitely one of the best if not the best promo men ever. The promo he cut against DiBiase at WM 6 was pure gold, even Okerlund is baffled at how good it is when it finishes. -
Like the guy, or hate him, that's great news if you ask me, considering he almost died in the past year. I agree that all of that is good news. I like Holly. Maybe not as a main eventer but as a midcarder or even upper midcarder he's fine. Plus, Smackdown! definitely needs talent right now so bring it on.

I'm thinking of buying this game in the coming week before renting b/c my local Blockbuster has had it checked out every time I've stopped buy. Is it worth the price?

With no "ECW Rules" tag put on the main event you know we are going to be in for a countout or DQ.

Well so much for that #1 contender stuff we've been seeing the last couple of weeks. You have got to be kidding me.

Possible DX/Survivor Series Spoilers
Danville_Wrestling replied to TheTomster's topic in The WWE Folder
If this is true (and I still have my doubts) it makes me sick. I have no desire to watch an NWO-DX feud and it only adds another layer of vintage WWE crap instead of actually building on the present. Oh well, can't get too outraged b/c it's what I've come to expect. -
Yea I wouldn't be surprised if the Hammerstein show is nothing but bleeps.

Lexus and the Olive Tree is much better than the World is Flat. I'm having to force myself to get through it because I'm bored with the repetition of "THE WORLD IS FLAT!!!" -
Most undeserving champions
Danville_Wrestling replied to CanadianGuitarist's topic in General Wrestling
Well?? Can anyone elaborate on this i'm very curious... The deal was that New Japan didn't want Sasaki, one of their main guys, to lose to someone like OMG. The match took place after Starrcade went off the air, and Sasaki actually played babyface, even though he'd been a heel literally moments before. The finish saw OMG splash Sasaki and what looked like a three count; I believe Sasaki kicked out just before the three count. OMG grabbed the belt, but the referee restarted the match and Sasaki won. The version that aired on WCW Saturday Night cut away with OMG holding the belt, and I believe they even added in the sound of a bell ringing, and it was presented as OMG winning the US Title. Yea I think this sums up the story. I recall that one of the Apter mags ran a story on this in kayfabe terms and as a mark I ate it up. Weird. -
Good one. Gave me a good laugh.

OAO ECW on Sci-Fi Thread for 7/25 (Week 7)
Danville_Wrestling replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
I'd love to see this happen just for the crowd reaction alone because it could get pretty wild. I'll definitely have my VCR at the ready. Wonder if the Sci-Fi people will like the fact that they will probably get some lewd chants b/c I don't think the Hammerstein crowd is going to listen to Joey Styles if he comes on and tells them to be tame. -
Guess that means that Cena wins by countout or Edge loses to Cena for the millionth time. I'll go with the latter with Cena then dropping the belt to HHH @ Survivor Series. Big Show vs. Batista? I'm not happy because I'd rather see an ECW guy get a shot but they don't have anyone aside from Sabu right now that would be credible enough to challenge. However, it does make the roster look like crap if RAW and SD! guys get called in every week for the main event while everyone else is in the mid-card.

OAO WWE Wellness Policy Thread
Danville_Wrestling replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
Okay this has gotten beyond ridiculous now. Edit: I don't mean ridiculous as in "the health policy is a joke" but simply because of the sheer number/range of talent that has now been pulled. It's just an astounding number. -
I'm in as Britain United.

Middle East Tensions Exploding
Danville_Wrestling replied to Danville_Wrestling's topic in Current Events
I was just commenting on the ambush Israel lost 9 or so soldiers in yesterday. The media were treating it like Gettysburg on the death toll charts. "Humongous casualties...what has Israel gotten themselves into now?!?! All of this death will probably decrease support for the war effort, etc., etc., etc." Therefore, I wasn't commenting on losing in the overall sense b/c Israel has superior firepower but was simply reacting to the way the media covered Israel's offensives along the border yesterday in a few selected incidents. -
Chicago requires big-box stores to pay 'living wage'
Danville_Wrestling replied to MrRant's topic in Current Events
To be honest I don't even think national minimum wage actually represents minimum wage anymore. A lot of states have set up their own minimum wage laws and quite a few are going to be voted on in state elections this November. I'm in total favor of letting states decide minimum wage over the federal government since a sweeping increase in minimum wage can't account for the cost of living differences between somewhere like California and Mississippi for example. Also, the majority of big proponents I see sticking their neck on the line for the minimum wage increases are unions since they like to index contracts on the minimum wage. The argument is like "well someone at Wal-Mart is getting $10 an hour for pushing carts around so since I have to work in this car factory I should be making 3-4 times that much an hour." -
Jury finds Amanda Yates not guilty
Danville_Wrestling replied to Mr. S£im Citrus's topic in Current Events
Yea Russ Yates makes me sick. He said something along the lines yesterday on the courthouse steps that "no crime has been committed that warrants the death penalty or life imprisonment." WTF?!?! I'm like Nancy Grace (*shudders*) on this one in the fact that Russ can't have his cake and eat it too. He says that he knew his wife was a psycho HOWEVER he impregnated her five times and then left his kids along with her? In my opinion he is just as guilty as his former wife on this one. I just don't understand how any person could be temporarily insane long enough to kill five kids. You'd think that after maybe the second or third one someone might snap out of it or something. I don't buy this insanity defense for jack. -
Chicago requires big-box stores to pay 'living wage'
Danville_Wrestling replied to MrRant's topic in Current Events
Well the funniest thing, though, is that big box retailers actually have fewer health insurance coverage problems than small businesses. However, the states in question ignore the fact that a greater proportion of people who work in small businesses have health insurance problems as compared to the big box retailers. -
Middle East Tensions Exploding

I like how our defeatist media establishment is already big on the "Israel is getting killed out there! OMG this war is failing!!!" This isn't to say that they aren't correct in some of their analysis but they are really lacking in a lot of facts to draw those conclusions sort of like when Newsweek called Afghanistan a quagmire after we were there for a week years ago. If you think the UN is bad now just wait. After all, they are thinking of leveling a WORLD TAX on America to help generate revenue for it. -
This has to be one of the dumbest reasons for suspension I've ever heard if its not related to Kash's blood test. First of all what did Batista do to deserve a standing ovation? I guess this wasn't Kash's time to go all "Bill Watts" backstage. The way this company constantly makes its talent kiss the ass of the selected few is sickening. I guess when HHH returns to the ring next week on RAW he'll have to get a standing ovation for being the father of a newborn child.

I thought this weeks show was weak compared to the last two weeks but James-Runnels was good for a five minute match and the tag team match delivered so I can't complain too much. I hate to be picky but wasn't the winning pin in the tag match a double-pin? Sure, Skyfire had his hand on Deuce's body but his shoulders were also on the canvas when the referee counted three. I really want to see the debut of the masked character in the woods. Those "momma" bits crack me up. It's like a poor version of Mankind.

Did the rating fall this week? I think last week's was 3.9 but I could be wrong.

Jury finds Amanda Yates not guilty
Danville_Wrestling replied to Mr. S£im Citrus's topic in Current Events
Let's hope she stays in a mental institution for the rest of her life and some wacko judge decides not to release her upon society again. Jurors couldn't even be told that if they voted not guilty by reason of insanity that she could be let out by a judge at a later date. Something is messed up with that law.
