Washington at Tampa Bay Jacksonville at New England Carolina at NY Giants Pittsburgh at Cincy I'm a Bengals fan and have been since the 1995 but the Steelers still scare me in ANY type of matchup whether it be regular season or playoffs. I'm glad we split 1-1 with them in the regular season, but I'm not confident enough to pick Cincy to win although I'll be rooting for them to pull it out and get into the divisional round. Also, I can't believe I'm picking three wild card teams to win this week, something I've never done before.

All I say can is: what...the...hell...?!?!

I thought the Dolphins ended the Bills' run to the Super Bowl by beating them the year earlier (Dolphins later lost to San Diego after missing a last second FG). The Jaguars game was the next year which I remember b/c I rooted for the Broncos as a little kid and the Jaguars beat them in the divisionals.

I actually enjoyed tonight's RAW to some degree, it was one of the better ones I've seen in a long time. Here was my assessment: *The HBK-Kane match wasn't that bad aside from Kane's choking and I actually liked the whole dilemma HBK had at the end of the match about whether to use Sweet Chin Music or not. *I don't understand the whole Lawler-Helms deal, but it was a fresh change of pace. I don't expect Lawler to eke out a win @ NYR, but knowing WWE you never know. However, I question the logic of giving Helms a push off of Lawler who didn't necessarily put on a classic w/Hassan last year...but it was Hassan. *Two segments with Trish! I don't care if they sucked, still good to see her on the TV. I think she'll probably lose the belt @ NYR which will make me angry, but whatever. *Victoria-Maria wasn't good and I could've called the finish from a mile away, but I did like that armbar Victoria put on b/c it looked like it literally hurt like hell. *The elimination chamber video packages and HHH-Big Show package was good. *I actually liked Edge's segment on Flair. Sure, the impersonation wasn't awesome but it still made me laugh. *I'm glad to see Shelton's going to get at least something out of this losing streak, but I hate this whole "mama" deal. Like why in the hell not bring in Charlie Haas or something to get Benjamin on the right track? I have to say that I still had hope that he'd get to the ropes from Master's "Masterlock." I guess when Benjamin finally wins it'll be a big markout moment for me. *Funny to see HHH screwed with by the production team. *Thought the first blood match was solid between Cena-Angle although I feared a draw when Angle was covering himself in blood. I fear how the crowd would've reacted to that kind of a finish. *Crowd was pretty hot tonight which is unique for RAW these days. Overall, good effort tonight and had more tolerable events than I remember in previous shows. People may disagree but that's just my assessment.

Yea, I laughed about that when I was facing Batista in an Iron Man match and he went to ringside and got a chair. I just let him hit me three times and got three easy falls. Also, the tag team matches are annoying the hell out of me. It seems as if the CPU just wanders in whenever it wants with little/no retribution and my damn partner never wants to attack the other person when I summon him in. He just stands there like an idiot and watches me have my submission/pinning move broken up.

I always thought back in the Attitude era, a D-Lo Brown-Mark Henry tag team had promise but they split those guys up b/c of Jeff Jarrett after SummerSlam 1999.

Easily WWE 2005 over WCW 2000. Sure, WCW started to get better towards the end but the David Arquette thing TOTALLY killed my interest in the promotion for a good six to seven months. Plus, WCW was still lacking a lot of credibility in my opinion by putting the title on DDP in 1999 which resulted in a big "wtf" moment for me. With that said I'm still disappointed with a lot of the direction the WWE took this year. I'm glad that their show in Lexington, Kentucky was a house show so I got to see a 20 minute Shelton-Carlito match, 14 minute Flair-HBK duel, and the first ever Cena-HHH match that went 20+ if I remember correctly instead of all of those crappy vignettes they've been doing on their televised programs.
-
That's not actually a bad idea. I'd like to see this team. I second that opinion.

Yea, just think: if Mark Henry gets something out of this new stint w/WWE then he might just get a contract extension...

Anyone know of a site that has a "Model" Rick Martel CAW? He's one of my favorite guys and I was disappointed the http://www.caws.ws/ website didn't have it yet. It's an awesome website for finding the old school guys, though, I'm putting into my game (Warrior, Perfect, Beefcake, Savage, I.R.S., Lesnar, Vader, etc.).

Thanks for the help above with the sleeper meter. I haven't had another match with it happening yet, but I'm glad to know it's possible to get out of it. I haven't done a lot of the modes yet as I jumped into season play with Muhammad Hassan. I'm in the middle of Eugene storyline, which I find to be hilarious with his interactions with Trish and Christian. I love how Christian keeps patting his chest all the time and saying the "that's how I roll" line. I agree that the story mode seems to linear and has a lot of crappy "turns" (ex. I've had TWO title matches reversed now b/c of idiotic logic, won't reveal which ones b/c of spoilers). Plus, sometimes I don't know if I'm supposed to wrestle as a face or a heel. For example, one time I was fighting Edge who was supposed to be the heel in the storyline, yet he was fighting clean and I was supposed to fight dirty...just weird. Commentary isn't too impressive, but what else is new. Part of me thinks they should just scrap it. I can't wait to get into the GM Mode (I plan on just doing two player so I don't have to deal with the crazy CPU) and run through the CAW mode by creating some other WWF legends. I love the gameplay and how the stamina system has been incorporated. There's a bit of a learning curve, but not too much.

I just got the game this morning and I'm impressed with the graphics and added realism that it brings to the Smackdown genre. I've grown very tired at these games being too arcade based and I think this game is a big improvement on that. However, would someone be so kind as to tell me how to break the sleeper meter? I've been trapped in that thing for the last three matches and was pressing every button I could think of, but nothing had any effect. Thank you in advance.

I'm about 53 games into my first year of dynasty mode as the Toronto Maple Leafs and have a record of 39-12-2. However, even though I'm in first place in the Eastern Conference I've been 0-3 against the Tampa Bay Lightning in season mode. First game I played them in I lost 11-10 b/c Martin St. Louis scored with 3:40 left, second game I lost 2-1 (10-10 in regulation) in a shootout after Mogilny missed the last shot, and in this last game stupid Eric Lindros hit Mogilny (my star player w/50+ goals and 30+ assists) in the first period with a slapshot thereby injuring Mogilny's ankle and forcing him from the game. Needless to say, after that I put Tampa Bay on the power play 8 times and gave up 6 goals on it to lose 8-4. It had to be one of the crappist games I've played so far. On top of that, Mogilny is out for 11 days which means he'll miss a key game vs. New Jersey, a game with ATL (which I don't worry about), and a home & home series with the Rangers. In my first game without him, I squeaked by the Washington Capitals 5-4 in OT with a winning Mats Sundin goal after I intercepted a careless pass in the Washington zone when I was on a PowerPlay 4-on-3. Who are the top teams in everyone else's dynasties? In mine, Detroit is a juggernaught and is like 45-7-1, just insane. Finally, quick question: What are the best ways to be one of the best teams in league financing? I'm currently like 25th which is a little discouraging.

Well, if it split into 3 parts, from what I understand, the Sunni part would be an oil-less, impoverished, hellhole and a major potential breeding ground for terrorism. Fair enough, but your telling me that the Sunnis couldn't create an economy on anything other than oil? Why is it that the Middle East as a whole has a stereotype of the "oil or nothing" economy? After all, Islamic civilization used to be @ the forefront of scientific advances, but after the Mongols swept through there centuries ago they've gone backward whereas the West went forward.

I don't know why everyone is all concerned about Iraq staying together in the first place. It was an artifical creation by the Triple Entente at the end of World War I if I'm not mistaken and if exit polls are any indication the country is already splitting along Kurdish, Sunni, and Shiite lines (surprise, surprise). I just don't understand what the whole arguement is about "Iraq MUST STAY TOGETHER!" when it's not really logical for it to stay together and second it hasn't had a solid history of staying together.

That actually sounds quite entertaining.

Totally agree. Sure the Maple Leafs had a wild win last night, but I found it enjoyable to watch. The old NHL was killing my interest due to knowing that a team had a very small chance of coming back once they went down by two or three goals. I agree also that the hitting will return, but it's going to take time for the defensemen to readjust. I also love how every game ends in a shootout after a tie in OT. Some people argue that it ruins the game if two teams are deadlocked after 65 minutes, but I like knowing that my team won or lost. Plus, you still get a point if you lose so no harm done. I think this is definitely going to make the playoff races interesting come April with teams picking up two points where previously they could only pick up one. Finally, they are keeping continuous OT for the playoffs and I'll love that so I've got a thumbs up for the new NHL.

That 9-6 victory by the Maple Leafs last night looked more like a game of NHL 2006 than a normal hockey game. It had to be one of the wildest games (especially in the first period) that I've ever seen.

Amen. I've been rooting for the Bengals since 1992 when I was eight years old and after all of the frustration and heartbreak it is finally rewarding to see how far the Bengals have managed to come. To be quite honest pessimism was so instilled in me from those bust years in the 1990s that I thought the Bengals would somehow fall to 8-8 again after they'd gotten to 8 wins this season. Hopefully we can keep this up instead of it being a flash in the pan experience, but my hopes of this success continuing are high.

I bought the game about a month ago and I've heavily enjoyed it. I play ten minute periods on medium and even though I do get some games that end up 8-7 (like my Maple Leafs vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning) a lot end up in the 5-4 range. The hitting has been toned down and now the computer starts to attack your guy if he holds onto the puck too long. Also, the play seems to be more realistic in its pacing without an arcadish feel of back and forth hockey. The skill stick makes for some easy goals, but I tend to restrict it's use unless I'm on a breakaway b/c I don't like to cheat. Call me a purist or whatever, but I try to restrict myself with what I do to make the game enjoyable and prevent lots of blowouts. I haven't gotten through my first season but it DOES suck that they don't change your schedule from the previous year. After all, was that too much to ask for? For $29.99 I think I got my money's worth out of this game. The last NHL game I owned was NHL 2001 which was good for its time period, but it didn't have a dynasty mode or anything like that so I got the new game.

What wrestlers are in VPW2?
-
I've actually waited for a college baseball game to come to the PS2. I imagine it may have less depth than the MLB versions, but it'll add another college sport to the system besides football & basketball. I'm just a sucker for the College World Series so I'll probably pick up this game.

Yea, Bischoff and his "Kicks of Doom." I was always disappointed with the lack of game modes they had in Revenge although I loved the roster and how each wrestler played differently. I felt that a singles match, tag match, handicap match, and battle royal just weren't enough although you could just use the rules to customize matches as you wanted to (ex. submissions only, pins/TKOs only, texas tornado elimination, etc.) I remember that Booker T was tough to beat in that game. I remember pitting him against Kevin Nash when I had a Clash of the Champions show in my fantasy fed and I Jackknifed that guy three times and beat him from pillar to post, but he kicked out everytime. Then somehow, at the ten minute mark he caught me in a random small package and got the three-count. I also recall that the best match I probably ever had was a World title match between Sting (Champion) vs. Bret Hart. I had Bret tilted back for the Deathdrop when suddenly Hulk Hogan ran down to the ring, nailed me with whatever his finisher happened to be, jammed my leg into the canvas, and Bret locked on the Sharpshooter for the victory. Wild title change to say the least.

The STFU. Are you f'ing kidding me? Masa Chono turns his head in disgust.

I have a soft spot in my heart for WCW vs. NWO World Tour. Sure, it only had about 32 wrestlers in the game, you could only use weapons outside the ring, and the actions moves pretty slow compared to other N64 genres BUT it was the only game w/a standard tag team elimination match (instead of the Texas Tornado eliminated match) and that made for some wild times. I remember my friends and I played the hell out of this game when it came out and we had loads of fun organizing tournaments and playing in battle royals.
