    Television

I'm going to see Verlaine in August. Adventure is under-rated, as is Television, the comeback album. Having seen clips of them, they are brilliant live: Richard Lloyd is actually a better guitarist than he was in the 70s and damn near breaks the neck of the thing when soloing. Verlaine is more subdued but..fuck, they're still great.

Who is the defining artist of this generation?

I already said the Spice Girls. They paved the way for countless boy and girl group trash bands in a truly massive scale.

Who is the defining artist of this generation?

Ok, who have Radiohead influenced? This is a serious and non-uninflammatory question here.

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

With Scotland naturally not being there, I will (instinctively) be supporting everyone playing against England who I think could do fairly well. All talk of them winning it is slighty overly-optimistic. Hope Germany win - heading over there on holiday immediately after the World Cup.

Who is the defining artist of this generation?

Overeducated rich kids with useless degrees afraid of being doomed to a useless suburban existence due to the rapid advances of society in which technology has made so many things redundant, all that jazz. Ugh.
