JBL cuts the best serious promo in the company. This shouldn't be up for debate. Have you seen his promos from his run on top? Foley doesn't count cuz he's not a current full-time talent. Jericho's Walls of Jericho hasn't beaten anyone of note in any big match that I can remember. All his big wins from his history seem to be flash pins or by dubious means(when he's heel). JBL's matches with Eddie, Cena, and Angle were all wrestled in JBL's style with JBL, as the heel champ, presumably calling the matches so yes I will give him credit for those matches. He had some very good ones with Rey as well. Batista was the one guy he couldn't have a good-great match with.

I'll never understand some of the hate for JBL's in ring work. He did a fantastic job during his title run, which included some great matches with Eddie, Angle, and Cena. He works a very stiff style with a believable finisher when contrasted with somebody like Jericho, who has weak-ass offense and a finisher that hasn't beaten anyone in years. Not to mention he's easily the best promo in the company. And the people who don't get the "Wrestling God" character and complain that he's held on a plateau with Rock/Austin are reacting the way WWE wants you to react and don't have a very discernable eye for pro wrestling. JBL is awesome.

JBL is great but did say he's coming to RAW as in permanently? He made it seem like he had done everything on Smackdown and was moving shows. Or did I just misinterpret?

WWE General Discussion - December 2007

Ross is still EASILY the best lead announcer in wrestling, even as a shell of his former self. Styles sucks and I never saw what IWC people saw in him, other than a propensity to worry more about blandly calling every single move by its proper name with his pipsqueak voice instead of getting people into the match. -
People don't realize how big a turnover in wrestling fan there has been in the last couple of years. They definitely cater to a different crowd than during the attitude era.

Holy Shit. Looking at the pictures on WWE.com, am I the only one who thinks Trish looks anorexic? Look at her.

I'll add two more: "Go" and "away".

Okay, so this is really random but thats what this is about. Just something if you need a good laugh. I was looking for something about Booker T on DailyMotion, but this was one of the things that came up and I just happened to feel like watching it. It is absolutely hilarious. It's a match between Booker t and RVD from the Family Reunion show last year. JBL and Tazz absolutely TEAR into each other while two world champions go at in the ring completely ignoring the match. Of course JBL owns Tazz. It's easily on the level of the ECW vs. WWE show in 2006 or Survivor Series 2005. I guess Tazz is just a glutton for getting into shoot arguments with superior announcers who could tear him apart on the mic(JBL and King). Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam -

Jericho's return is dissappointing because, frankly, so many people here made it out to be bigger than it really was. Jericho will never be seen on a level with Rock, Austin, Cena or to a lesser extent Hunter and Taker. -
ALL. FUCKING. ORANGE.

I love how Tennessee is the chopped liver of the SEC. Georgia would give a better game even though we kicked the crap out of them. LSU will "stomp" us despite looking very average yesterday against a team Tennessee drilled(Arkansas). Phil Fulmer should change his name to Rodney Dangerfield.
-
Hogan Cena would probably get better heat than Hogan/Austin even. Whoever said it would be like Hogan/Rock all over again is right. I want to see it, frankly. And Cena may pull something decent out of Hogan.
-
Glad to know Georgia would be better competition than Tennessee when the Vols curbstomped UGA(28-0 at half) in the head to head matchup. I guess Georgia vs. Mississippi State would be the ultimate SEC title Game since both got destroyed by the teams that actually "won" ther divisions.
-
Am I the only one that thinks those two could have some great chemistry. Damn. I really want to see that match now that I think about it.
-
The Raw title match going on last has been justified the last few years because they've been the matches with the most heat going in. Without Cena, and with UT/Edge likely being on, SD should probably go last this time. But I agree that Trips will prolly have none of that. Remember he and Edge aren't buddies.

It was a great segment at the top of last weeks show. Look it up on YouTube or something. It involved Boogeyman, Khali, and Hornswaggle all trying to join DX and was basically just for the payoff joke at the end making fun of the writing. (Stephanie actually made fun of herself twice that night).

Maybe his first match will be Armageddon what with the "Second Coming" Theme and the Armageddon connotation.
-
Your probably right. It just seems that this angle could have been executed a lot better and the conclusion could be a little less, quite frankly, anti-climactic. Not to mention they just had to return him on the night my team was on Monday Night Football. Conflicting Interests piss me off.

I am more kidding now that the magazine thing leaked, as it hadn't when I said that. Still not sure, though. 9:30(usually one of the lowest rated parts of the show) on a random edition of Raw seems kinda stupid when you have a the 15th Anniversary of Raw Three Hour show in a couple of weeks or you could even use it to pop a buyrate at a meaningless PPV like Armageddon(which kinda fits the "Second Coming"Gimmick anyway). They brought Rey, Undertaker, HHH, and Edge back on PPV. Why not Y2J, who's return is bigger news than the others. You bring him back at 9:30(!) on a random Monday. Huh? It is looking like he will return next Monday, but I would have thought the WWE would make better business decisions than that. Why not advertise the "Second Coming" for Armageddon? They can still beat people over the head with it, and in that case, it would pop a buyrate, which i more important than a rating on TV.
-
Who is this "we" you speak of? It sure as hell don't include me.
-
Notes on the Show so far: Batista sucks on the mic Kennedy is a horrible worker but doesn't get recognized for it on here because he isn't 300 pounds or a great worker who just happens to have the last name Cena Still seriously doubt Jericho is coming back next week at 9:30 of all random times. It'll be another extension of the angle that'll probably culminate at the Three Hour Raw Anniversary Show They're making it obvious its Jericho to pop a buyrate, it really shouldn't be surpising. I'm not even gonna watch next week because my team is on MNF next week, and that takes priority over rasslin'.
-
FWIW, Lou Holtz is fucking awesome.
-
I think it is because the shirts are being sold on the 19th that he won't be returning then. Its a red herring. Why sell a shirt for "SaveUs 222" when Jericho will be returning rendering the ephemeral "SaveUs" stuff kinda pointless. Wouldn't hey just have "Jericho" shirts. This angle's gonna be going for a long time

OAO 11/05 Raw Thread...... no longer thinking about "Y2J"
ANKLELOCK replied to Boxer's topic in The WWE Folder
Raw got a 3.8 this week, best number in weeks. The horrible, company-killing "bait and switch" last week sure did turn people off.
