Hope you guys realize that even if Batman would hit $600 million(it wont), it wouldn't come close to the actual amount of people that saw Titanic. With inflation, TDK would have to hit $900 million to truly match Titanic. And that movie made 1.6 BILLION worldwide. With ticket prices less than half what they are now. In-credible

Well, WWE isn't as popular in America as they were during the Attitude Era, but the company has grown exponentially in overseas markets (especially in the Middle East and India), places that they couldn't have done as well in during the less conservative Attitude Era . Globally, WWE is more popular than ever before. Cena is the face of this rebranded image. Thats why the uproar over the anti-Cena sentiments.
-
bob_barron, your awesome. That is all.

You, sir, are a fucking moron. And, FWIW, the WWE's new rebranded image, which Cena is the face of, is way more marketable to a broader cross section of potential viewers/buyers than it was in the late nineties, and thats part of the reason why WWE is making more profit now than they ever did during your precious Attitude Era. But you probably didn't realize that because you clueless enough not to believe that anybody would go to a WWE show just for John Cena. What a joke.

Exactly. Ledger was good but the script is what made Joker what he was. Several actors could have acted psychotic and giggled a lot. Eckhart was just as good and the last scene is maybe the best in the film.\ I didn't know some of you were into necrophilia the way you have Ledger's cock up your ass.

Not really. Cena, Orton, Jericho, Mysterio, Finlay. Unless you meant to say heel. In which case he'd only be behind Orton.

The Attitude Era was an anomaly, the exception not the rule. Most times booking traditional good face/bad heel(ie: kids entertainment) is better for business. They tried to keep booking Attitude-Era shades of gray even after they started to drop big-time in ratings. They making more money than ever booking this traditional PG WWE. And, do you people not understand that Cena is over not just because of his crowd reactions. His segments are ALWAYS the highest rated on RAW or Smackdown, his merch is way beyond anyone else's, and the general casual wrestling public think of him as the face of WWE.

HE. IS. A. HEEL. He escapes with the title. He doesn't dominate. He's vicious and malicious, he's a snake, but not a he-man. That's why HHH was so unbearable in 03-05. If being better than it was 2002-2006 is still shitty to you then maybe you should just quit watching. Despite the injuries/suspensions I thought the overall program was pretty damn good, especially in-ring wise, in 2007 and even this year. If you thought his matches with HBK, Y2J and HHH were bad, then just give it up and go watch some lucha libra quebrada-thons or something.
-
Exactly. It also might have something to do with the fact that he is one hell of a lot better than he was in 2005. And, DK, what part of "it makes horrible business sense" doesn't resonate with you. Business is really the most important thing when you're, y'know, running a business.

For about an 8 month period there, Randy was perhaps the best wrestler in the world. Worthless? Fuck that noise

I love it.

Cena won't sell the gobs of merch that he does as a heel. The fans of today WILL stop buying his stuff if that happens, it isn't the attitude era fans anymore. Cena won't work as well in the ring as a heel because he does such a damn good job of the selling a beating/making a desperation comeback formula. Cena won't get nearly the heat because the ones who cheer will just stop reacting altogether and the ones who hate him now will have gotten what they wanted and will cheer him for a little while but then miss the goody-two-shoes Cena that was more fun to boo. Wait until Cena's stock has dropped and the fans truly get tired of him(no, not IWC fans), like was the case with Hogan, then turn him heel.
-
Not correct. HHH/Cena, Batista/Taker, Taker/Edge were all planned months if not a full year in advance and they had no problem holding them off. They have something else in mind...
-
Cena ain't turning. He shouldn't turn. Your #1 guy(which Cena is regardless) should always be a face and Cena does a better job than anyone at being the top face of a huge wrestling organization.

I once watched a show called American Gladiators that Mike Adamle was on. I know my shit.

I dont think Nolan has any intention of doing Batgirl/Robin/Batdog/Catdog or any of the above.

I really liked the whole "rabid dog" motif they had for the Joker throughout the movie. Batman seemed kinda confused when attacked by the dogs in the movie(like he was with the Joker not wanting the money) and the end with Joker and the dogs togeher seemed to symbolize something. In joker's speech at the hospital he talks about being like a dog chasing a car and "not knowing what to do with one if he caught it". I just thought it was a cool subtle touch.

I would've thought more people would realize by now that Raw's rating usually has less to do with the show itself than with what else is going on.
-
Yes it is, and, for the record, I liked BB and will surely like this one, I just wanted to be a contrarian to the overhype that is going on now. I understand the excitement, I just like to be a dick sometimes.
-
You mean, it's not the greatest movie of all time? It won't win 45 academy awards?
-
The Dark Knight will make more than Meet Dave but less than Titanic.
-
Dark Knight is going to make enough to pay off the national debt.
-
If this movie gets nominated for best picture I'll eat my foot. It's a big budget summer popcorn flick. I liked the first one, too Overhype machine is in hyperdrive. I wonder what people will be saying about Ironman II.
