  1. Bear in mind that the vast majority of today's wwe fans started watching after Rock retired. Cena is the big star of their tenure of wrestling fandom. Yes, Cena would get booed and Rock cheered, but the heat would be evenly distributed. Anybody else who was in there for the Rock's big return would just be ignored by the crowd.

And Cena doesn't write his promos now. He wrote his raps way back when, and they were a hell of lot more creative than Dwayne's "popcorn fart"/"you hump cows" shit was.

On the rare occasion where Cena is allowed to be an intense badass, he has shown that he can do that better than the Rock as well.

I know i'm just an "eight year old Cena fan" as they would say on YouTube, but somebody's gotta play devil's advocate to all you cool Attitude Era fans.

And btw, I completely disagree w/Cena about the Rock.

  2. He posed with the "We Hate Cena" Group, with that one dweeb screaming in his ear like he wants to kill him. Talk about issues.

Kinda reminds me of the time he reportedly took a "If Cena Wins, We Riot" sign out of the crowd and challenged the crowd to do it after a show.

Cena has come a long way. The boos used to bother him, but a ways back he realized that those booing him were losers trying to ride a fad and it had nothing to do with his actual performance.

  3. I'm not a CM Punk mark, but how cool would it be to see him cash in his title shot tonight if Orton wins the title to finally get his revenge over Orton screwing him out of the World Title?

Very. And it would be nice continuity, but there's no way Hunter will allow that. He might lose, but he's not being left out of the big show-ending angle with no heat on him whatsoever.

  4. The story is BS. By the accounts of all the other recruits the Vols have gone after, he is extremely polite. What's not BS is that Kiffin has apparently, according to the rumor mill, landed the top prospect in the country. He, out of his own pocket, is bringing his family to Knoxville this weekend just before his announcement on monday. When Bryce Brown announces on Monday, he'll be all Vol. He will join #1 all purpose back David Oku, who announced for UT a couple days ago. As predicted, a great, potentially top ten, class for Lane in his first offseason. Ole Urban didn't pull that off his first Offseason.

  5. Agreed. Orton and Cena are the only guys they've built up since the end of the Attitude era. Pretty sad.

No. Not even close. There was a guy who won his eighth title the other night, that guy who got betrayed by his brother a couple of months ago, that guy who beat Cena at Summerslam and Orton at Armageddon clean then got injured, that guy who cut a wicked promo with Piper last night, not to mention they built up others before that but they did various things to ruin it like fail a wellness test, OD on drugs, kill their family, and, worse, go to UFC. Cena and Orton are only the biggest stars they got since the Attitude Era, but not because of a lack of other stars, its because they are that good.

  6. I am a UT fan/temporary Knoxville resident and the fans are in LOVE with him right now. He is bringing excitement to the players, the program, and recruits. The shot at Urban Meyer was an overblown thing said at a UT fan rally and was meant to get them excited. Those buying in to the notion that Florida will beat UT by 2093489h9 points because of this are offbase, they've already done that the last two years so we've got nothing to lose and Meyer is a "run up the score" guy anyway, so it really doesn't make a difference.

Listen to this reaction he got at a basketball game. This was before the Meyer thing but it would be even louder now.

Fulmer was a pussy for years when he was constantly made fun of by Spurrier, so its very fresh for us. Kiffin is often compared, personality wise, to a young Spurrier.

And all this negative press is really just clouding the GREAT things he is doing right now in the offseason. Our pathetic conditioning program is completely overhauled and the players are noticing the dramatic disadvantage from that standpoint that they faced last year. Young guys will play immediately instead of the old "senior starters" mentality that Fulmer had.

To get the full picture of what he is bringing to UT, I implore you to read this article in this week's SI(which is sure to bring more attention because it'll sell big cuz of A-Rod)HERE

If you read that and still think he'll fail at UT, I really don't know what will convince you.

  7. yeah it was always kinda the elephant in the room when vince was getting on styles about calling too many moves that vince was....you know....right.

People have eyes. They can see what moves are happening, the names really don't matter except to dweebs who probably already know them. Why they're doing the moves and the motivations of the characters in general ie: the "story" is much more important. Styles always sucked. Still probably more sufferable than Cole, who is awful for completely different reasons.

  8. I believe the conservatives are talking about how Obama was going to forego putting an end to the Bush tax cuts on those making 250K and above because he rightly has come to realize that the LAST time you want to put a greater tax burden on America's most productive citizens(most of which qualify as small business owners, hence the Joe the Plumber Mascot deal) is during times of economic hardship.

And Bush's tax cuts, at the expense of sounding like Sean Hannity, WERE instrumental in shortening the Clinton recession of 2000/2001 that Bush inherited and led to 52 months of uninterrupted job growth(a record, btw). If you think the current economic crisis is at the feet of just the Republican party and has anything to do with Bush's tax cuts, you are a blind partisan moron.

Bush Bashing, however trendy, is getting really annoying. I support Obama, I have high hopes for our country under him, but President Bush was NOT the awful guy or completely incompetent buffoon liberals successfully propagated him to be in light of the country's challenges recently.

Was Bush a great president? No. Did his administration fuck up? Yeah. But he conducted himself remarkably gracefully(as did Obama) during this transition period when he could have sunk to the level of those who revile him and who were shamefully booing him at Obama's inauguration.

This has been my Bush apologist post of the week.
