4/6 matches sound good. I really hope Benoit/Finlay gets some time.

How can an "argument" consisting of "I like WWE because..." be poorly made? It's an opinion, for god sake. That'd be like arguing against someone because they said "I like Burger King because..." No one's really arguing here. Well, except for Rudo waiting for anyone to say something positive about WWE, then jump on it saying it sucks and whatnot. Is WWE perfect now? No, far from it, but that doesn't mean there aren't certain aspects of it people can't like. If you don't like anything, that's fine. But seriously, quit bashing anyone who says they like something. No one's going to say "Oh, what a well-constructed argument. I think I'll no longer be excited by (insert whatever)..." So just give it a rest.

WWE has been trying to re-capture the attitude era ever since it died. Doing that has really had little affect on the overall product. I still like WWE, even if it's not really that great right now. I'll be a fan to the end. Smackdown was really good, but now it looks like it's going into a lull. Still lots of potential for a good matchups on that show, though. Raw has the Trish/Mickie feud which will pick up again soon. I still want to see the conclusion to that one.

Puro jokes in the NBA playoffs thread? I like it.

The Lakers might be in trouble if they lose this game. Phoenix has a much better shot of winning Game 6 in LA than the Lakers do of winning Game 7 Phoenix.

Good to see WWE take what could've been one of the best underdog stories and potential World title runs in a long time and just shit all over it. First the ungodly amount of Eddie references, then the Orton crap, the title match getting cut in half, one defense where he gets beat up 90% of the match, another defense only designed to get Mark Henry over, and now a loss at the hands of the worst drawing champion in 10 years. What a load of shit. I feel bad for Rey. On a side note, who the hell would've guessed, oh say 3 years ago, that a good chunk of the IWC would be happy to see Bradshaw take the World title from Rey Mysterio? Fickle smarks, eh?

I don't know how the ref couldn't see that. Walton's not even on the line, his whole foot's in the yellow. Not that it cost Phoenix the series or anything, but damn, that's some shitty officiating.

What is the future of the Smackdown Main Event?
Just John replied to spman's topic in The WWE Folder
If they booked SD correctly, there would be no problems. A Rey/Benoit program can last you a while. Kennedy and Batista are coming back soon and guys like JBL and Booker T could be given title shots with no complaints. I don't think they really need the draft, but Edge just going over by himself could also help SD a lot. Personally, I think he should've gone over last year, but it could still work now. -
I don't know how much of a "shoot" or even "worked shoot" that Styles promo was... I mean, wasn't he just saying everything that's been on WWE.com for the last couple of months?

Provided the Lakers take care of business, I do not see them blowing by the Clippers in any way. The Clippers defense is a million times better than the Suns, so I don't see the role players getting so many points. They also still have a balanced offense with a solid bench, so it's not the Lakers can let up on D. If the Clips can turn the Lakers back into the Kobe Show, the CLIPPERS will be ones winning in 5.
-
So, Dave's getting his info from the official Raw preview now? I'm not excited for anything about Raw tonight, after that disappointing excuse of a ppv last night. Foley returning doesn't add to my interest at all. The one good storyline this show had going is on hiatus now because Trish is hurt.
-
I don't know if it'll be that easy for the Lakers. Unlike the Suns, the Clippers play good defense, so guys like Kwame, Sasha, Cook, George, etc probably won't get the same easy looks they're getting now. If the Clippers can limit the effectiveness of the role players (i.e. everyone not named Kobe), they have a good shot to win. Right now, the Lakers are feasting on an incredibly weak defense. They'll have to work a lot harder to beat the Clippers.
-
Yeah, that'll teach him for using his brain and thinking of the only logical booking strategy. The WWE writers sure showed him, though.

At least the Rumble had the feel good moment with Rey winning it. But you're right... The rest was as bad as or worse than Backlash. Mickie/Trish cut short with a weak improv finish is still better than watching Mickie struggle to get anything remotely resembling a coherent match out of Ashley. And the 3 way tonight was better than Cena sucking the life out of the title by beating Edge too soon, and freaking Mark Henry in the main event.
-
Definitely a bad show tonight. Nothing was exceptionally good, and lots of things were exceptionally bad. Trish/Mickie could've been MOTN again, but Trish got hurt, and this time there was no good cover job to be made. That one fell apart in a hurry. While I could buy Mickie taking the cheap way out from a storyline perspective, I can't buy her taking the cheap way out when Trish was clearly hurt. Oh well. McMahons/Michaels had a good finishing spot, but damn did it draw out forever before that. Never mind all the sense it doesn't make. The 3-way and RVD/Shelton were the only passable matches, but both had flaws. Umaga/Flair and Kane/Show were both actively bad. Carlito/Masters was ok, but Masters totally screwed up a two count somewhere in there. I pray to god that "You love poop" does not catch on as a chant. Why is the Eugene gimmick still going?

Well, my one comfort is that the Clippers legitimately owned the Lakers in the regular season. Of course, that means shit when the playoffs roll around. Especially against the Lakers. They'll have to play to win by 10+ just so they have a shot at sqeaking by with a 2-3 point victory, because you know the Clippers will get ZERO favorable calls. None.
-
So where was that Phoenix officiating bias? Luke Walton's intentional jersey pull, and the mugging on Nash. *Sigh* Oh well, you know it will be exceptionally sweet if the CLIPPERS eliminate the Lakers from the playoffs.
-
Oh stop it. This game is being called tight on both ends because of the physical nature of the last game. Barbosa, Marion, and Bell all have 2-3 fouls a piece on really ticky tacky stuff. its being called like games 1-2 were called. This is very true. The officiating all around this post-season has been really tight, I think. Especially techs/flagrants which the refs seem to hand out like candy. What would the world have to come to in order to see ref bias against the Lakers?

I think the ME will be really fun. 3-way matches tend to be good anyway, and the crowd should be especially hot for this one. Shawn Michaels better get a win. He has looked retarded and inept ever since this feud began, save for the WM match. The least he can get for going through with this god-awful (lol) program is a ppv win. Shane McMahon is 2nd least favorite person in WWE right now. I really hope Shelton and RVD were just dicking around during their recent Raw matches and have the super-fun spotfest they should be able to have. Could be really fun, or another disappointment. I hate the stipulation here, as it pretty much necessitates a DQ finish. Mickie and Trish will hopefully have another very solid match and build from the WM encounter. If they blow this off with Mickie going over in strong fashion (maybe even "injuring" Trish), this has to be feud of the year. Come on, writers, you've gotten this angle near perfect for the last 6 months, don't fuck it up now. The other matches really aren't important. Carlito needs to win to establish credibility as a face. Umaga needs to win to maintain what little heat he has. Kane should win since it looks like he's getting the movie push. Match quality will likely be average to below average in all cases.
-
I don't doubt Angle's injured, and I hate Mark Henry, but I think this is a work. Angle needs some time off. This is a convenient way to do it. Angle gets time off, Henry looks like a monster, and Booker gets the cheap way into the KOTR Finals (very fitting of his current character). Everything works in WWE-land. I still want Henry to be fired though.

Hmm, a merely average showing for SD this week. Pretty underwhelming. JBL/Regal was alright, but something just seemed off. The ear blood was a nice touch. 6-man was fun, but too short. Finlay needs to wrestle more. His match with Gunner was decent enough. Why is Jillian still on SD? Send her to the women's division. With Khali repeatedly stroking his hand, I really think they're trying to put over his head chop as one of the most devastating moves ever. I don't know if that's really bad or really funny. And now to the bulk of this post: MARK HENRY FUCKING SUCKS. Why, dear god, why do they keep pushing this guy? He has repeatedly proven to be worthless in every aspect of sports entertainment. His promos are dull and generic. His wrestling ability is non existant. He's not even carryable. He doesn't even have a good "wrestling big man" look. Shit, at least Khali has that going for him. Henry's just fat. He hasn't had a good match in his career. Still, in spite of all these facts, he is one of the most protected and pushed stars on SD. I can't stand it. Shouldn't they be de-pushing him and phasing him out since his contract is almost up? It actually looks like WWE wants to re-sign this fat fuck. The day that's officially announced will be the worst day of my life as a wrestling fan. Sorry about that, but I had to say it.

Man, the Heat just looked like total bitches at the end of that game. I don't see how they can win the east with that attitude. Shit, if Chicago gets under their skin, how will they react if they see Detroit?

While the other Lakers combine for maybe 50 as well, in a 112-100 losing effort. Kobe trying to show up Nash tonight would a very detrimental team move.

Video of Johnny Jeter getting initiated at a hotel
Just John replied to Frankie Williams's topic in The WWE Folder
AAE is pretty easy to spot given that he's wearing the same goofy hat he does on tv. I think Mikey was there too. Only one I can't make out is who was holding Jeter's left arm for the first series of chops. -
Details On WrestleMania 22 3-Disc DVD Set
Just John replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
Agreed. It was way better than it had any right to be given the build, but it still was still a pretty average show overall. I have Mickie/Trish and Edge/Foley downloaded to my computer which are the only two matches on that show I'd care to see again. And I thought most people didn't like SNME? Why is this a selling point all of a sudden?
