I can't see much but Cena retaining. I don't think WWE wants Hunter getting shit on at ONS, but they won't mind feed Cena to the wolves. Edge winning would be fine for WWE land, but his personality isn't one the ECW fans will shit on. Personally, I'd like HHH to be the champ going into ONS just for the new chants. I mean, we already got "Fuck you Cena" at WM, what more can they do to him?

That's the first time I can recall seeing an NFL team scheduled in 3 consecutive road games. Ouch.

Here's an off-the-wall one: The Steiners vs. Harlem Heat (Hog Wild 96) Some people say it's the racist hick bikers. I don't know. I don't personally buy that theory, but either way the crowd was super hot for the match. The early stages of the match were especially intense.

Damn it. Why couldn't Henry/UT be the dark match and JBL/Benoit get on tv? Nice to see Benoit pulling double duty. Still looks like a solid show, as usual. Looking forward to the tag match, and Rey/Orton.

Goldberg/Lesnar and Hogan/Rock come to mind.

Well, this helps the SD ME picture quite a bit. Should be smooth sailing for a Kurt/Rey one on one match at JD now.

Does anyone think any of the "Baby Gators" decide to enter the NBA draft this year? The overall draft pool is looking pretty shallow. I think Noah and Brewer will be good NBA players one day. -
Goldust and Snitsky as a tag team... ... Well, it could lead to some entertaining backstage stuff. Terrible matches, though. I'm surprised it took this long for them to release Tomko too.

Oh come on, at least HBK had spots. Besides, the worst beatdown ever award goes to Evolution when they beat Foley down in 04. They just punched and kicked him for like 5-10 minutes, with maybe an RKO in there. Runner up is Bossman and Albert beating Tazz at NWO 2000.

Just send an opposing WR in that direction and you'll be safe. Interesting pick up for the Pats, in all seriousness. Don't know if it helps them much, but it sure is a step up from KC. I guess Miami is the destination for NFC North QB's looking to re-vitalize their careers. How long til Favre signs there?

I won. Yay for me. I was even the only one to break triple digits. I have a feeling this victory will be about as heatless as a Mark Henry squash, though.

God, I so do not want another freaking re-draft. SD has such a stacked roster at the moment with lots of good feud opportunities. Here's the only draft I would accept: To Raw: - Mark Henry - Scotty 2 Hotty - Sylvain - Gymini To SD: - Edge - Shelton - RVD - Johnny Jeter* - Ken Doane* *With no Spirit squad gimmick. Unfortuantely, this means I'll really get: To Raw: - Benoit - William Regal - Ken Kennedy - MNM To SD: - Chris Masters - RVD - Torrie Wilson - Kane - Rob Conway

Being right, isn't wrong. Good. I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw the awesomeness in that match. Even with the weak finish it was still a good match. The split pull/stiff kick combo by Trish was nice. And all of Trish's other contrived spots were worked into the match in a reasonable and appropriate way. Mickie brought the awesome with that dragon screw like thing over the top rope. And who could forget the camel toe clutch? Plus the look afterwards was priceless.

Is it wrong to think the women's title match was the best of the night? Mickie fucking ruled in that one. Easily the best women's match WWE has ever put out and the only women's match I can think of that I would give ***+. Mickie is easily a top 3 character on Raw. While there weren't any classic matches on this show, it did have some good moments. The burning table spot, the 20 foot elbow, and Rey winning the gold were all great. Plus there were some good spots in the MITB and 3-way match. Despite the horrible, horrible build for the show, it didn't turn out too badly. Probably goes down in the middle or lower middle of the pack in terms of ranking the WM's. Oh, and wtf was up with those HHH/Cena entrances? That was just weird.

If you can put the blame on 1 person for the decline of the WWE...

SD's been doing very well for quite a while. Yeah, the Lesnar thing stung right after he left and they entered the awkward JBL transition phase, but no way he's to blame for anything more than a year after leaving. -

I'm gonna have to be unoriginal and say Vince. That guy is so out of touch with reality. His perception of "what the fans want" is generally way off as well. -
What film plots are you sick and tired of?

Guy falls in love with girl... Girl's family hates guy... Guy wins family over... Girl and Guy get married... Example: My Big Fat Greek Wedding. As an added bonus, that includes the "frumpy girl becomes normal and therefore happy" cliche someone mentioned earlier. -

Anyone wanna keep track of how many times Nantz and Packer use the words "long" and "length" during the championship game on Monday? -
If UCLA wins, Kurt Angle Mark wins. If Florida wins, I win.

Bret's WCW run is like Flair's current WWE run. It's sad to watch, but in the end, people will remember the good things he did in the prime of his career.

College Hoops: National Semifinals and The Championship Game

I think the major sports media outlets are the only people trying to downplay this F4. Every fan I know who has followed the tournament loves the unpredictability and excitement. And a lot of people, like myself, appreciate the fact that none of the usual suspects (Duke, UConn, etc) are around in favor of some new blood. The major sports outlets are just pissed because the old guard teams got outplayed by the n00bs. Heaven forbid that Fox writer do a story on what led to George Mason's success instead of just saying they don't deserve to be there. Oh well. I say let those elitist writers go jerk off to JJ Redick while I enjoy a very fun group of Final 4 teams. -
Houston's had Seattle's number for a while now. Man, I still can't get over how bad this season has been for us, though. At least Yao is playing well.

The Toronto card looks to be the best one. The fans in Indy get ripped off.
-
The worst part is NO ONE in that triple threat has any credibility left. Angle was the only one that any cred after NWO, but weeks of being Mark Henry's bitch and almost losing his title to UT have left him with nothing.

Thing is, there's only 2 guys that have a realistic shot (Flair and RVD). Everyone else is just there for spots. If I could've re-booked it, I would've had Burchill win a qualifying match. Then I'd do the BR pretty much the same until the end. I'd have Finlay interfere and throw Lashely out, leading to one on one match between those two. Then MNM would jump out at the same time on purpose, leaving Long no choice but to put them both in the MITB. Then you have 3 guys that can contribute to the spotty nature of the match, take bumps, add comedy, and get 3 people on the WM card who should be there. Plus you get Lashley/Finlay one on one, instead of lumping them in a match where they have no business.
