I'm actually more excited about the SD before Mania, although that's probably because I'm going to it. WM looks so boring this year, but I'll probably order it with friends and we can make it entertaining.

47 with seven of my E8 teams reamaining. The DC bracket is reaming me hard, but I'm doing well in all the others.

Sam Cassell looks like Smiegel from the LOTR series. Morrison wouldn't be so bad if he got rid of that molestache. Reggie Miller also deserves a nomination

Am I the only one who found it incredibly ironic that the Wrestlemania ME vs. ME match was a curtain jerker?
-
Guys... It's because the match wasn't promoted as FCA. Of all the things you can bash SNME about, this should be pretty damn far down the list.
-
Maybe he wanted to the match to go on longer and only screw Michaels when he was about to win to make it that much more traumatic for Shawn.... Ok, that's a stretch, but the point is the no FCA stipulation isn't THAT big of a logic gap.
-
Not really. Answer: It wasn't falls count anywhere.

You mean a McMahon angle didn't draw? No way. I'd be interested to see the quarter hours to see if one particular segment drove viewers away or if no one simply cared about the show.

See, I don't think Nash will be much of a factor in next year's MVP voting for those reasons. 2 years ago, Marion wasn't as good as he has been this year. People will have much higher expectations for Marion next year. Amare will be recognized as a force next year, and not an up-and-comer like he was 2 years ago. Nash will be still be the glue for the team, but Marion and Amare will make the Suns look like a multi-headed monster. It'll be like a better version of Kidd, Carter, and Jefferson. Although, I do think it's impossible to speculate on next year's MVP, since we don't know what trades and FA signings will be made. The only person who I think is being robbed of a little MVP talk is Sam Cassell. It's always Elton Brand this, Elton Brand that, Elton Brand hit me with a wiffle ball bat, or whatever. Brand's a GREAT player, but he's been great for years and hasn't done shit for the Clippers. Cassell is the veteran presence those young guys with lots of potential really needed.

Even if Shawn isn't notoriously tough by wrestler standards, he should still be able to beat up a non-wrestler and non-trained fighter pretty easily. You said Shawn could wrestle circles around him, so why doesn't Shawn wear him down with wrestling, then pull out the weapons? Besides, Shane's history for making wrestlers look bad is undeniable. See: Big Show, Kurt Angle, Kane, and now Michaels. The only wrestler that beat Shane's ass like he should have was Steve freakin' Blackman.

I understood (though didn't agree with) a lot of the arguments against Nash winning the MVP last year. I mean, Amare, Q, Marion, and Johnson were all putting up great numbers that made it look like anyone could do Nash's job. But now... Now 3 of those 4 guys are gone. Two went to other teams where their numbers aren't anywhere near what they were with Nash, mind you. Marion has stepped up, but there's no way he completely compensates for those other three. Meanwhile, Diaw, Bell, and the like are putting up great numbers with Nash that they could have only dreamed about with their old teams. To me, not only does Nash's performance this season warrant him getting the MVP award this year, but it completely vindicates and eliminates all controversy from last year's award as well.

I suppose the answer to this thread is "Yes." Way too much trying to re-live the attitude era. Way too much. Someone said it in the other thread, but it's so true... Trish/Mickie is really the only storyline that has reasonable build for Mania. I'm still baffled as to why anyone thinks Shane is the "good" McMahon. Every time he comes back, it's only to jump off something high and make an active wrestler look bad. This time around was no different. We can only hope he leaves again after Mania.

I like how he calls everyone a "gay" and a "fag," but he wants to go around fucking everyone in the ass. After breaking their back? Weird interview.

Another pretty solid week for SD. Finlay is growing on me. I liked it when he rolled out of the ring, then punched Funaki for no reason. I don't know why he's in MITB, though. Pretty odd choice, but I suppose if Lashley wins the BR next week, it works. Great segment with MNM and the playboy. "I can explain... Joey's a pervert." was a great line. Vince McMahon's ego is way out of control, though. Jesus, writing in a masturbation innuendo to your own magazine cover? That's pathetic. Good stuff from Burchill again, but I don't get the diva involvment. At least he's keeping the C4 and the rope swing entrance. Hardy/Animal was a snoozer. Animal sucks and Matt Hardy is one of the most overrated midcard wrestlers in the last 4 years. Hardy gets to bump around in MITB now. Yay. SD's scrambling for guys to fill their side of MITB. Putting in a completely separate feud and a guy that's spent the last 3 months getting buried for not taking a chokeslam? Meh. Benoit/OJ was there. Decent 6-man ME. I really don't see how Orton can win the title. Angle's still being booked fairly strong, and it looks like they're trying to forget Rey's NWO loss. The sooner Mark Henry gets away from the ME the better.

Only lost one S16 team so far (Seton Hall). Don't know what I was thinking looking back at that one. Anyway, I missed 6 other first round picks, but I had all of them losing in the next round anyway, so no biggie. I also called Bradley over Kansas.

I think WWE's next non-wrestling business venture should be a reality show. The concept should be like Big Brother, but it features WWE wrestlers in character.
-
Eh, an exciting last 2 seconds at least.

Seems like no one wants to win the Winthrop/Tennessee game. Even if Winthrop pulls the "huge" upset, the sloppy play by both teams for the last 7 minutes has really taken the excitement out of it.

I hate to hijack this thread, but I have a question about the actual downloading process... I can't get the videos I download off Youtube to play on my computer. I'm using a Mac, which might be the cause of the problem, but I don't know. Could someone tell me if it's that, or if I'm doing something else wrong? Oh, and so I contribute... http://youtube.com/watch?v=OZEZBQYEd3Q&search=puroresu There's Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Mitsuharu Misawa.

I thought Hardy/Animal was on SNME. Show looks decent enough. I'm really digging the Lashley/Finlay feud and the ME could be fun. Rest is pretty filler, but doesn't look offensive. It ALL looks better than Raw on paper.

Phoenix and Seattle need to play each other more. This is the second ridiculously high-scoring game they've had this year. Hopefully the Suns aren't too worn out, as I want a fun game between them and the good LA team tomorrow night. And good job to the Kings turning their season around. That Artest pick up looks pretty damn good in retrospect.

Dean Malenko's time in the WWF as an active wrestler
Just John replied to a topic in General Wrestling
Who could forget Dean Malenko: Ladies man? He had a LHW title run, if that means anything. -
This is true. Last year when I put thought into it, I was fucked over after Round 1. I'm hoping my more haphazard approach this year pays off.

I don't really care if Benoit's involved or not. Not like that's going to affect anyone's view of him. I mean, Owen Hart did lots of pranks back in the day, but everyone still liked him. I think it's sad how the Dicks overreacted to the whole thing. As with anyone picking on you, if you take it in stride and don't let it bother you, they'll stop. I'm sure Bradshaw, UT, and Benoit got ribbed when they were first getting into the business too. Anyway, I'm more curious about what this 1-3 a.m. "trial" of Melina involved...
