    Time for Flair to Retire?

Flair needs to be a manager. He doesn't deserve to be kicked out of the business, but he shouldn't be wrestling a full-time schedule, and that's been true for about 9 years. If this thread picks up momentum again, I doubt we'll be seeing anymore "Flair deserves one last run with the title" posts. His IC reign was a bad enough flop that anyone with a handful of functioning brain cells can see he doesn't need to be carrying the company.

    This week in the NBA

Denver will probably win that weak-ass NW division and be a gift for the 6-seed. They're so inconsistent, I don't know how they can win one 7-game series, let alone four. I think the Clippers, Grizzlies, Hornets, and Lakers round out the 5-8 spots in that order.

Most forgettable stint in a promotion

LOD in WWE some time in 2003. This one was so surreal, I think I might have made it up. Bischoff had Animal and Hawk fight RVD and Kane for some reason. LOD botched the doomsday device badly and jobbed in like 5 minutes. Does anyone else remember this?
  4. Why the hell did they even try to hide it at all then? And why did they take the belt of Edge when Cena was getting cheered? Why did they push someone who they knew "couldn't work" to the ME? I hate to be too cliche as a smark and say HHH has something to do with it, but there's a lot of circumstantial evidence there. I suppose they could be trying to work the net, but that's pretty detrimental to the program since the majority of viewers aren't net fans and will only see Cena getting buried on tv. That's not going to get him cheered, and the majority of smarks hate Cena anyway, so I doubt they will be "worked." Seems like a big HHH ego-jerk more than anything.
  5. I'm still curious about the title/artist of OJ's theme.

    Live Smackdown Spoilers

SD gave an above average show yet again this week. Booker/Tatanka was meh, but it served it's purpose to get the Booker/Boogeyman feud over, even if that idea is inherently bad. Orton/Crazy was a decent little match. Nothing spectacular, but there were some good spots. MNM vs. Hardy/Animal was fine standard tag match. Animal heel turn? Well, it's different at least. Finlay and Lashley had fun brawl. I'm actually kinda looking forward to their Mania match. Angle/UT was about the same as the 03 match. Good for a tv match, but the tv finish really leaves a bad aftertaste. No Helms, Benoit, or Mysterio this week? Odd.

    Guilty pleasure

I wouldn't say I'm embarrassed of any of my songs, but some that I like are that traditionally considered uncool: My Happy Ending by Avril Lavigne Like I love you by Justin Timberlake Real Emotion from Final Fantasy X2 Livin' La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin

    Taker vs Angle II

Hm, I wasn't too impressed with the re-match. I mean, it was good, but more on par with their 03 match, right down to the finish. I think the UT dominance hurts and is very counter-productive to what their first match built. Then of course, we get the same "UT is about to win, but someone interferes for no reason" finish we've seen at least 3 times in the last year. This match made Angle look weaker going into Mania, and really lacked the story and flow of the NWO meeting.

    WWE news and notes

SD gets shit on way too much. Outside of the Eddie exploitation storyline, the show has been solid all year. They've already produced a legit MOTYC, and even with their decimated roster, are still doing pretty well in the workrate department. Raw has just been dead since Angle left.
  10. This is what happens when you force Indy wrestlers to act like cheerleaders.

    This week in the NBA

I'd like to, but I can't while Steve Nash is still playing like he is. He's upped his scoring, and the Suns haven't lost a beat with some key losses. People said Nash was only the beneficiary of having Amare, Q, Joe Johnson, etc, but without those 3, the Suns are still 20+ games over .500. Meanwhile, role players like Eddie House and Boris Diaw are having career years. That's no coincidence. Besides, Sam Cassell is the real catalyst for the Clippers turnaround. Elton Brand is amazing, but he's been amazing for the past few years and it hasn't gotten that team anywhere. Cassell brings a strong veteran presence and floor leadership which was that team really needed. On a side note, when Maggette gets back, watch out... That 4 spot may not be such an easy advance after all.
  12. Anyone want to take a stab as to who this 'unnamed wrestler' could be? Mikey, Johnny, Nick, Mitch, or Kenny.

    Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame

I don't know why Benoit isn't in the WON HOF, but other active guys (Angle, HHH, Taker) are. I mean, he doesn't have as many titles as those guys, but you'd think his long career and large body of great matches would compensate for that.
  14. Agreed. You're not going to break into the business and win matches right from the get-go. Everyone save Zeus, Mr. T, Lawrence Taylor, Jay Leno, Karl Malone, and Dennis Rodman were jobbers at some point. Hey, those guys clearly paid their dues... They each jobbed in their first match.
  15. Bobby Eaton went from being part of one of the best tag teams of the 80's to jobbing on Saturday Night in 97-98. HHH was very low card guy in WCW too. I'm not sure if he was a complete jobber, though.

  18. Does WWE have like a wardrobe person or something that could have told Shawn Michaels that he should NOT have worn a cami for his segments with Vince? That was some of the most homoerotic attrire for a wrestler not in a "gay" gimmick that I've seen in a while.
  19. I like how even on a list that has nothing to do with WCW, WWE still finds a way to bury it.

And the Smackdown ME for Mania is...

I still don't see how we're supposed to buy Orton and Rey as legit threats to Angle who is just on another plane right now. He really should just destroy both of them. Go the Samoa Joe at AAO route with it.

    Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame

I think 20 years is a bit high for wrestling. Workload, injuries, etc can really cut down careers quickly. 10 years is probably a better range, but even then you have to make exceptions for guys like The Rock.

    Strange food combinations you like

I second the Fries 'n Frosty combo. Also Fries and Arby's sauce. Mexican restaurant nachos and sugar. The weirdest thing I've ever done was fishsticks with butter. I thought it was pretty good at the time, but then I got sick. Can't stand fishsticks anymore.

Wrestlers better then Finlay right now

Yeah, Booker was putting Finlay over hardcore when he was fighting Benoit. And Finlay crotching Rey with the apron was great.

This week in the New York Knicks

I thought I'd be nice and at least acknowledge the other 10 or so guys in yellow/purple uniforms who run around the floor while Kobe's playing basketball.

    JBL injured

In all honesty, I would've thought it was fake if I hadn't previously known JBL injured his hand at the SD taping. It wasn't all that noticeable, but since I was looking specifically for a hand injury, it wasn't too hard to pick out where it happened.
