AI has been a beast this year, moreso than usual. The rest of the guys on that team must really suck for the Sixers to have such a mediocre record.

Stupidest/Worst/Most Offensive Smackdown (Special)
Just John replied to Fuzzy Dunlop's topic in The WWE Folder
What did The Big Show do that was edited out? -
The Broncos don't win at Arrowhead too much. I doubt they do this week either.
-
The real "WTF" here was why UT did a back bump on an RKO. Almost as bad as the time someone sold a scissors kick with a back bump.

Best Wrestler in the last five years: 1. Eddie Guerrero 2. Kurt Angle 3. Chris Benoit Best feud in the last five years: 1. Rock/Jericho 2. Angle/Austin 3. Angle/Lesnar Best match in the last five years: 1. Eddie Guerrero vs. Brock Lesnar (No Way Out 04) 2. Kurt Angle vs. Steve Austin (Summer Slam 01) 3. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit (Royal Rumble 03) Best brawler in the last five years: 1. HHH 2. Mick Foley 3. Shawn Michaels Best High Flyer in the last five years: 1. Rey Mysterio 2. RVD 3. Jeff Hardy (By default, I guess) Best Tag Team in the last five years: 1. Edge and Christian 2. The World's Greatest Tag Team 3. Los Guerreros Most Underrated performer in the last five years: 1. HHH (Hated by smarks, but always steps up for a couple memorable matches a year) 2. Edge (Not great by himself, but very carryable and has had plenty of solid matches) 3. Big Show (Good when motivated) Most Overrated performer in the last five years: 1. RVD (Can fly, but nothing else) 2. Ric Flair (Haven't seen anything exceptional from him, even vs. HHH and UT) 3. Christian (Gold on the mic, but boring as shit in the ring without a spotfest) Best promo guy in the last five years: 1. The Rock 2. Eddie Guerrero 3. Edge/Christian Best PPV in the last five years: 1. Wrestlemania 17 2. No Way Out 2000 3. Survivor Series 02 Worst PPV in the last five years: 1. Great American Bash 04 2. Unforgiven 05 3. Judgment Day 02 Most disgusting promotional tactic in the last five years: Probably the late entrant of killing UT with Eddie's car. If we're going for shear stupidity, Katie Vick still tops it though. Best promotional tactic: Eddie and Benoit: Dual Champs.

For some reason, it's hilarious when top-level stars degrade the jobbers. One of my favorite Rock lines ever was when he was being interviewed before the 2000 Rumble and said something like "The only two people the Rock is concered with are Crash Holly and... Headbanger Mosh."

Missouri at 21 seems about right. The suburban schools are pretty good, but the inner city and rural schools certainly bring everyone down. The KC district schools are just awful.

Don't overlook Atlanta/Carolina. That game will be really big in the NFC South. If Tampa takes care of business against New Orleans, an Atlanta win log jams the division with a 3 way tie. Likewise, Carolina can create some separation and continue the push for a first round bye with a win.
-
My guess is mid to late 98. Although I'm not sure when he actually turned heel in that time period, that seems about right.
-
I think without McGrady, the Rockets are the worst American team in the NBA. Tuesday's game against Atlanta will be helpful in testing this hypothesis.

How many World champs turned during their reign?
Just John replied to Dandy's topic in General Wrestling
Austin was all over the place in 01. He kinda turned heel as he won the title at Wrestlemania 17, became a full heel later, had a very brief face run at the start of the invasion, turned heel again at the Invasion ppv, then turned face right after the Survivor Series winner take all match. -
I love going to football games at Arrowhead. It's a really fun atmosphere to watch the games.

Apparently this doesn't warrant a thread, but I thought Smackdown was really good last night. Booker/Benoit was enjoyable, although I'd rather see a 2/3 falls match instead of another series between the two. Melina/Christy was way better than it had any right to be. The Raw/SD feud has been built up pretty well. At least this year, the Thanksgiving show-ending brawl didn't involve food.
-
Not really a debut, but a return... I still don't get the Road Warriors coming back in 03 just to job to RVD and Kane in 5 minutes, then never be heard from until Animal showed up a a couple years later.
-
Brock Lesnar beat Kurt Angle to win the Undisputed title in an iron man match. The Hassan terrorist attack that got him booted off tv. Of course, the thread starter would have no way of knowing of these, but they are fairly significant.
-
The thing I love the most are the Thanksgiving throwbacks. Denver better bust out the 80's orange and Atlanta needs the mid 90's black. New England vs. KC will be a huge game for those two fringe teams, while Chicago vs. Tampa will be big for the NFC playoff picture. Tampa probably needs the win more in their tight division, but Minnesota's not too far behind Chicago either. New York vs. Seattle will be a good test for the Seahawks, who have been beating mostly jobbers so far. Seattle could really set themselves apart in the playoff race with a win.

I guess that's never stopped 'em before... But Daivari joining Cena wouldn't be justifiable by WWE standards. Might as well have Cena announce he's converted to Islam and change his name.
-
The addition of Daivari really throws the possibility of a double turn for a loop. If you want to do a double turn, I'd have Cena take out Daivari, let the match continue with a normal ref, then have Cena use the chain to win. Or you could have Daivari turn on Angle and join Cena, but that would make no sense.

I still don't think Rey has. His before and after pics reveal pretty much what I said earlier. He's gotten a little bigger and definitely more ripped, but that's nothing that can't be done just by hard work. He hasn't become too big for his frame, gotten veiny, had backne, or any other tell-tale signs of roid use. Cena looks like he's gotten off roids if anything.
-
Raw has Superman Shawn Michaels. Was it the 03 match he beat up 3 guys before Orton got a cheap pin off interferrence or something?
-
I'd be really surprised if the Raw team doesn't win the ME. I also see Teddy winning the GM battle due to interferrence. The best part is Rey finally gets to ME a ppv, although since it's basicallly all the upper midcarders from both shows, it really lacks the ppv ME feel. And almost any way you slice it, one brand is going to come out looking bad. All the other stuff isn't very interesting. They really aren't playing up Cena/Angle like they should (use their 3 year history instead of the old "heel cheats and has a screwy ref" angle). Melina/Trish has decent build for a women's match, but does anyone really care? HHH/Flair should be a decent brawl, but my concern is how predictable the outcome will be as soon as they announce whether or not it's for the IC title. Everything else will be last minute, thrown together matches that don't matter.
-
Are there any real NBA rivalries today besides Pistons/Pacers?
-
Booker T should be in the "Could Be" group at worst. He has a lean, muscular build that's very believably natural. At no point in his career has he ever put on substantial mass. I think Orton's in the same boat.
-
I don't really think Rey's on the juice. If you look at him in WCW he wasn't bulky or even ripped (compared to say Eddie, who was ripped in WCW, then added mass in WWE). Rey was ripped when he came to WWE, but he didn't put on a lot of weight. Rey could've gotten to where he's at pretty easily by just eating and working out properly. I suppose he could have used roids, but it's not like he had to in order to get where he's at.

Once they took his heel edge away and made him a "for the people" type face, the gimmick was doomed. The best thing to do is let it go until the booing is very noticeable, turn him heel, let him re-discover his edge, wait a couple months for the fans to like him again, turn him face (a la The Rock).
