Desperate Housewives Season 2 thread

Fun episode tonight, aside from the Susan-Edie crap, which looks to be this season's "fashion show" plotline of sorts. The pharmacist passing the lie detector because he "lied to himself" was such a God damn cop out though. Next week looks good. "Have you ever been with a woman?" "Go to your room!" -
That used to be the music used by all the jobbers on FSN <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I only watched the FSN show once or twice. It goes back to the weekly PPV days. Dames will probably recognize it when he does the recap.

Daniels Three Man Ironman Match Next Week..
Placebo Effect replied to natey2k4's topic in TNA Wrestling
I think they'll be more inclined to debut guys like Sonjay and Shark Boy. -
Good riddance. I love Tajiri and all, but when he's working his lazy WWE matches, there's no point to cheering him on about staying.

Random thoughts and questions as I watch the show. I love how HOT the crowd is, especally when compared to what WCW used to get out of Orlando for Pro and Worldwide. They need to give the X Division guys something, anything, to work with gimmick wise. Call Shane "Matthew Bentley," give him a pair of sunglasses, and have him act cockier. Somthing as simple as that means a lot more than "the guy with the hot chick." Tenay and West were idiots for not recognizing the "Austin Aries ... Fallen Angel" chants at the beginning of the match. As much as I liked him three years ago, Sonny Siaki is so dead in the water. His ring jacket and shorts look like a bathrobe too. While it helps to have a muscular guy on the roster, the combination of white tights with the bald head make him look like a complete jobber. What were they chanting at the beginning of the Abyss/Siaki match? They really need to get Abyss over as a heel. The crowd is cheering for him way too much. I recognize that music Ortiz came out too. Who used to use that? Nash, once again, looked like a scrub and the sequence had a surprisingly small amount of heat. Ortiz wasn't even established as a guy who can stand on his own two feet when with the wrestlers. He put the chokehold on Nash from behind and grabbed Jarrett to toss him from behind. Daniels came off as a little too over the top in his promo. They needed a promo video of sorts for Harris and Storm. They should have emphasized that they were TNA's hottest faces since the beginning (even if they have to lie a bit). I fast forwarded through the main event, but it didn't look too bad. Gail's debut wasn't bad, as having a pair of tits next to them can't hurt AMW, since we all know there's no chance her promo skills or what not will overshadow them. Yay.

Most T&A matches do employ wrestling. Sure, they don't need to be doing 800 squats a day, but you can't just throw someone in the ring and expect them to something even as simple as a Bra & Panties match. It would be one thing if the girls were long time wrestling fans, and thus had knowledge of how a match works in the back of their mind, but it's relatively safe to say they have nothing in there.

The big problem is that you point to crazy bullshit like the Impact replay rating as a negative sign for the company. If the new episodes of Impact were placed on a weeknight at MIDNIGHT, a .5 would be respectable. A replay pulling that number is not anything to complain about.

And that matters because?

I wish I could be him for Halloween.

That's not bi. EDIT: To clarify, that's straight. Freaky and straight but straight nonetheless. You're only bi/gay if you're attracted to men. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, no. I meant that not only do they have sex with other men, but prefer receiving rather than giving while with females, which leans them more towards gay than straight.

I refuse to believe that man is even remotely straight.

Many are bi. And even with that, these are the type of bisexual men who enjoy their female counterparts to use a strap-on.

Excellent episode tonight. Dwight and Michael have such awesome chemistry and having them in a different enviornment was so great. "You know the extra bedroom? If the whole girlfriend thing never happens that's where the nurse can live." "Two bathrooms would've nice. We only have one... And it's under the porch." "A silver medal..." "Yeah, not as good as gold." Just like last week, I'm hating the sudden empathy that Jim has towards Michael. While they're handling it well, it just screams of network retooling.
-
Right now they're debuting on a new network. Saturday alone their audience tripled, meaning that guys like AJ and Ron Killings need to be built up again. If we're still seeing guys like Jarrett and Nash main eventing in six months, then it'll be appropriate to be pissed off. Honestly, I don't want AJ in the main event long term. He's a tremendous worker, but he's too small. I only began to buy a guy like Benoit as a main eventer when he juiced up.

My God, a big beard with a KISS t-shirt to boot. It's too bad he looked like a schmuck and was gone by the next show, as the promo he delivered was fun. -
I haven't watched tonight's episode yet, but we've been talking about The Office in the My Name is Earl threads. Glad to have an actual thread for this now.

I guarantee that AD and Kitchen Confidential will get moved or (shudder) canceled to accomodate Prison Break. There's no way they'll risk screwing up its ratings by holding off on new episodes or moving it to a different night.

Your Criteria for what constitutes...
Placebo Effect replied to Dangerous A's topic in General Wrestling
Whatever it is, it's not just about the wrestling. I loved a lot of the WCW-Russo PPVs. They were so spectacuarly goofy at times that the $10 or so I'd pay for copies was money well spent. -
It's WCW 1997 all over again. Wicked undercard and tremendously shitty main event. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> WCW main events were often DUDs to * matches. Jarrett-Nash, if they repeat their last match, will be ** or more. Still not a great main event, but it's not tremendously shitty. Plus, guys like Jarrett and Nash being in the main event are necessary evils. The undercard is almost guaranteed to be great.
