Nah. Round Springfield and the clip show were much worse. I liked the future gags in there. I don't know why the episode gets a lotta hate. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lisa's wedding inspired one of the best quotes from The Simpsons fifteenth season or so. "I've done things a lot worse than this. Remember that time I hid a gun from you? That time I sued the church? Or when I ruined Lisa wedding in the future? Remember?"

Yes! Best movie ever is getting released on DVD

Thanks for posting this. I'll have to get this off of Netflix and burn it. -
The show has a lot of huge flaws, one of them simply being the comedy. I'm thinking they planned on having this show be without a laugh track, and then realized while producing the pilot that there was no way it'd work. I like the actor who plays the son, but he's not right in this role. He's great while on Malcolm and All That because he plays everything eccentric and that's what he does well. He's just awful on the show, although most of the better jokes came from that story. I don't see this lasting long at all, although I'm looking forward to next week's to see if it's worthwhile.

Didn't love Family Guy tonight. Liked it, but the Helen Keller joke, an one or two other long ones, fell flat. If you can't get a few laughs from the current Simpsons episodes, your standards are too high. While the episode did suck, there was still ten to fifteen bits that I enjoyed. Alec Baldwin's part was awful. That joke about harming mammals should've come off half-funny, but he sucked the life out of it. The outhouse joke, jet skiers, cousins, and Billionaire vs. Bear jokes are all pretty bad. "Marge, does the pizza guy take a check? Marge, where do we keep the checks? Marge, how do you write a check?" "She was killed by a falling air conditions... It's not all bad. As part of the settlement her funeral was air conditioned." "If it were up to me, I'd be with you harrassing the manitees. If anything I'd be the guy who took it too far." That end joke with Burns, Smithers, and the manitee was so out there.

I hate Apolo as well, but he's just a big and muscular fucker that can be used as the group's enforcer. He will serve a purpose, and I don't see him wrestling singles matches more than once every month and a half. At least he's not El Leon.

This is pre-Desert Storm.

You're all unfunny.

Excluding the shows, like Prison Break, which warrant an actual thread. I'm currently watching the premiere of Prison Break and will post my thoughts when it's over.

Rate & Review new Fall TV shows
Placebo Effect replied to Placebo Effect's topic in Television & Film
REUNION I don't know about this one. The starting characters are incredibly generic, but from the looks of it, they're going to quickly become multi-faceted. They only did one real narration during the show, and the way that they faded out of it (leaving the past for the last time that episode) was very lame. I'm interested in seeing how Chyler Leigh's character develops. From the scene with the detective you can see she's turned into the opposite of what she once was. Unless if Night Stalker shocks me by not sucking, I may stick around for this one. I have no classes Thursday or Friday, so I usually look for something to watch. C+ -

Military barrel opening = Return of the Living Dead continuity. I hope they didn't dump that element.
-
Looks like typical Hollywood garbage. And that's not coming from a liberal or conservative stance. It just looks like crap, and whoever decided to use the lyrical part of that song in the trailer is an idiot.
-
Don't worry about editing. Sci-Fi Channel is actually asking production companies as of late to use more blood and gore. I knew there was no way the sequels would get released theatrically. Even opening in LA and NY would have been a stretch. I'm really looking forward to seeing them. I've always loved zombie movies, and from the previews, I don't think they'll be the second comings of Houe of the Dead.
-
That would've made it even more hilarious.

Two recently released stars buying tix?
Placebo Effect replied to claydude14's topic in The WWE Folder
Those two are soooo fucking each other. -
Worst part of that press release is that they refer to her as a "TNA Knockout," meaning that's their term for "Diva."
-
Looks like it's going well. Unless 'Just Legal' turns out to be excellent this will be getting recorded every night for the full season.
-
Very true. I really hope the four episodes they aired on CBS a couple weeks ago did it good. Whatever the case, at least we'll get a full season. UPN doesn't really do mid-season replacements, aside from reality crap like the Missy Elliot show.

He went back to being a bouncer. Reno was one of the many Power Plant guys who didn't really love professional wrestling. He, like many others there, was a tough guy who excelled at something else (whether it be plain old fighting, football, etc.), and decided to try his hand at training so he could make $100,000 a year for however long possible. So when the checks stopped, Reno stopped.

Spike to replay Impact on Monday Nights

Awesome. I knew good things would happen to this company after defending them for all their fuck-ups, or at least saying that they weren't going to die as easily as everyone else claimed. -
A&E screws up the Labor Day 24 mararthon
Placebo Effect replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
You want to know what I'm loving about this marathon? A & E knows that a large amount of its audience is going to use a DVR, and as a result, has it fixed perfectly. Every single episode, when you start the episode, it starts exactly on "Previously on 24." I'm on hour twelve now. I'm guessing I have six or seven left until I get to the episodes I've already seen. -
This young rookie has a bright future ahead of him.

A&E screws up the Labor Day 24 mararthon
Placebo Effect replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
Someone reminded me twenty minutes into the first episode. Thank God, as I only got to see the last six episodes or so of the season, and am loving these episodes. -
You should come to CZW's show next Saturday afternoon. There is one at night as well, but the day time show is a tribute show for Chris Cash.
