I love it when Trey and Matt just say "Fuck it" and make something incredibly off the wall - Flashbacks, Mr. Hanky's Christmas Classics, Pip (I disliked it before I actually read Great Expectations?), Butters' episode, and Asspen (to a lesser extent) are great episodes. It wasn't a great episode, but I still had a good time with it.

I haven't gone to a wrestling show since August, but I'll happily buy tickets for this. I don't care what the line-up is, I just want to see TNA live.

Seconded. He is a big, fat worthless pile of crap that is ruining the little reputation he had. Why push a man that is old, overweight, and has limited mic skills? Obviously, its because his brother is one of the heads of talent relations. Fuck you Johnny Ace! Oh yeah, fuck you too, Road Warrior! Hardy very quickly squashed Animal on last Friday night's Smackdown, so hopefully that push is over with. I think they recognize they made a mistake, as just a couple weeks ago it was Animal destroying Hardy. I'm still kind of curious as to how that outfit got cleared with creative.

The OAO Raw Thread for 4/17/06

I don't think a single person in the crowd knows who Haas is. -
A movie starring Mo'Nique. I hope you don't want to know more.

Toweilie's back! Fuck yeah. The second part was a huge step-up from part one. The satire here was the strongest it's been since God knows when. They even nailed some small points, like Bush having to defend the First Amendment to the rabid media, in addition to the big stuff.

If they keep Dalip Singh from doing that much before the PPV, he and the Undertaker's match will be HUGE for the marks. Not probably beyond that one match, but the first match will draw well, regardless of whether or not he's a great worker.

Has Road Warrior ever actually had a backstage segment or interview? It seems as if all these "Warrior wants the WWE fans to forget about the past" crap is originating in Michael Cole's headphones. And why did Road Warrior turn on Hardy again? What, they lost two matches together? And in the time it took me to type that sentence, the feud just ended.

What's sad is that the gimmick is where it's at now (poor attempts at comedy being the only reason for its existance) because of a combination of two factors. 1) The first four weeks or so the crowd seemed to actually be buying Burchill as a pirate. Those backstage segments were awesome, with Burchill actually coming off as a damn good Johnny Depp. The crowd loved was into the gimmick, and then, he wrestled... 2) Maybe the world operates differently in England, but here in America at least, Burchill is a sloppy worker who hasn't learned how to put together a quick TV match yet. Sticking him in two different matches with Regal, which resulted in Regal leading the match and making Burchill look like a bitch, didn't help matters either. And holy crap, a Velocity clip!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH No.

I was just explaining this to my friend the other night when he was pissed over SBTB coming on.

The Office will be fine. When they have new episodes The Office retains something like 85% of Earl's audience. Plus, because the demographic that watches The Office (upper-middle class 18-34 people with expendable income I assume) is the most sought after, in the end it probably brings in the same money as Earl

I don't think you've met many gay people. But he saw it on TV. -
It works on the marks and most wrestling fans, including myself at times, don't bother to think back more than a week in the past unless they're spurred to.

I love Paul London and all, but that whining expression on his face when he gets a two count has to go. Benoit/Dean had absolutely no heat for most of the match. I honestly think it's the new costume that attributed to it. It looks terrible. It didn't help that the match was weak too. The JBL video was great, and the placement immediately after the match made it better. What the fuck was with Angle? "The champion will not be punked out ladies and gentlemen." Burchill is no Johnny Depp when it comes to delivering lines. It sounds so forced. I still love the gimmick though. Tazz with a pearl necklace reference. Finlay and Lashley shouldn't be standing calmly two feet from each other. I love Dalip Singh. I hope he squashes the shit out of every cruiserweight WWE has. He's so awful that the entertainment I'll get from those segments will be more than I'd ever get seeing them wrestle on Velocity that week.

It makes for simpler booking and builds up the importance of the match that results. Even if it becomes less effective over time, it'll still build the match somewhat while at the same time giving an easy explanation for why the two guys are wrestling each other. I'd rather have qualifying matches than the writers feeling the need to waste a backstage segment to explain why Upper Midcarder A is angry at Upper Midcarder B.

A friend of mine is back from college this coming week for Spring Break. I'll have to try and talk her into going to see this and V For Vendetta with me.

Even I, a diehard TNA fan, switched over to the Hall of Fame a few times. Never for more than a few minutes, but I switched over nonetheless. -
Same here. You know Seth is gonna have something in return It's too bad Seth's won't be until November.

Randy Orton suspended by WWE for 60 days

I do that all the time, complete with the mini-lip smack from taking a sip of coffee beforehand. -
Why in the hell does every no-talent joke get praised when they're released? Tomko was the absolute shits in the ring. Considering they had no plans to let him cut weird promos with Snitsky or act as someone's bodyguard, good riddance.

Ohhh yeah, Psycho Heel Erik Watts.

It's an 80s cartoon Norris did when shows like G.I. Joe were still hot. It's likely been in the Hanna Barbera library for years collecting dust. It's just being brought out to capitalize on Norris' popularity.
