Impact!: All Time Records and TRIVIA

I'm going to go out on a very small limb and say Abyss and Monte Brown are the answers to the first two questions, and not necessarily in that order. -
How close is the WWE close to tanking?
Placebo Effect replied to Epic Reine's topic in The WWE Folder
Very true. People don't understand the video market at all. Van Damme and Seagal direct-to-video flicks have budgets that often hit a maximum of $24 million, and these things aren't even released theatrically. WWE will not be distributing these films to theaters themselves, as they'll most likely get Lions Gate to pick them up, so LG will be fronting the marketing costs for the project. The movies will no doubt make at least $5 million theatrically, if not more, with WWE getting a chunk of that. Internationally, they'll bring in a minimum of a few million. And they'll do very well on video as well. DVD sales, both individually and to rental stores, account for a large percentage of revenue that a title generates. -
Tatanka doesn't need wrestling. He's fucking loaded from non-wrestling business ventures. I hung out with him for a half hour or so backstage at a show two years ago. Relatively nice guy, though into his Native American religion/heritage a tad bit too much.

Like most of these shows, they have little plot points that go show-to-show (maybe a relationship, or an unsolved case), but ultimately, it makes no difference if you see the first twenty-three episodes or not.

Christopher Daniels vs. PAT TANAKA? Don't get it. -
I still hope they make another album. Their last studio album was fantastic, and not filled to the brim with the whinyness that sunk their past albums.

Here's one... "The pinnacle of this icon garbage came at last night's cage match between Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper to determine in their minds only who the real icon is. WCW had the gall to say that it was the greatest cage match in history when it was only the greatest in three weeks since Hell in the Cell. But here you've got a 46 year old bald movie star wanna be who looks like Uncle Creepy with a good build taking on a guy with an artificial hip that hasn't wrestled a full schedule in ten years. It's a tribute to the massive egotism in my mind of both men and an indictment of WCW's promotional policies that this match even took place much less being the main event when that card was probably the best WCW is capable of having. By the ten minute mark they were sucking wind so bad the first three rows passed out of oxygen deprivation. It would have been funny if it wasn't so sad. Well, I'm sick and damn tired of hearing guys claim to be the icon, especially when it usually comes from guys who just didn't know when to quit. Roddy Piper was my idol when I was a teenager. That was 20 years ago. Hulk Hogan during his best years was 50 percent media creation and those are long gone. This match was a slap in the face to every wrestler that takes pride in his profession."

I absolutely loved "The President Wore Pearls." I had to have watched that five times before deleting it off the TiVo. -
I liked the Lenny and Carl joke. "Don't push them Homer. You have to let them to terms with it on their own."
-
I still like The Simpsons, and will be watching it on my TiVo.

Shane Douglas planning ECW Reunion show

WWE also has at least some production guys, office personnel, etc. who are used to the way the Hammerstein Ballroom operates. Viking Hall just isn't equipped for a major PPV. I've been all around that building, and the backstage area is tiny. With all their shit, they'd have to rent out the Foreman Mills next door or something. -
Dates are up on the Warped Tour website. Of course, this is just the initial list. Academy Is All American Rejects Armor For Sleep Amber Pacific Atreyu Avenged Sevenfold Bedouin Sound Clash Billy Talent Bleeding Through Boys Night Out A Change of Pace Emery Fall Out Boy From First to Last Funeral For a Friend Gatsby's American Dream Go Betty Go Gratitude Greely Esates Gym Class Heroes Halifax Hawthorne Heights Hidden In Plain View Hopesfall HorrorPops Hot Rod Circuit Kinison Left Alone (BBQ Band) Mae Mest Midtown Millencolin Motion City Soundtrack My Chemical Romance No Use For A Name Offspring Plain White Tees Reggie & The Full Effect Relient K Senses Fail Silverstein Strike Anywhere Strung Out The Bled The Explosion The Fight The Matches The Starting Line The Transplants A Thorn For Every Heart Thrice Tsunami Bomb The Unseen Underoath Yesterdays Rising ZAO I'm there regardless of the line-up since it's free for me, but if they add Bad Religion, I'll be extremely happy. I believe Atreyu and Bleeding Through will become the first bands to do both Ozzfest and Warped Tour, though I may be wrong.

First set of bands announced for Warped Tour

Awesome. I've been dying to see Senses Fail, and I'm extra pumped since on the first list I saw they weren't on it. Who else is gonna be there in Englishtown NJ ? I'll be in Camden without a doubt, but I'm thinking of going to one or two other shows so I can do more photography. -
Poor York and Matthews have always gotten screwed. They were signed to WCW for about six months, and then got released. They went to ECW, it closed. Sign to WWE, released. Go to XPW, and just when York seems to be on the verge of a push, it closes. Ace works the occasionally tiny NJ indy every so often.

That's fucking beautiful. How do I go about getting that job? -
Danny Inferno? Holy shit. I'm shocked he's still around. Don't get your hopes up. Inferno is a generic ligt heavyweight who works a heavyweight style prior to entering the developmental system. Just imagine him afterwards.

I have no idea who this Houston character is.

It was probably late '99, as Russo had written the angle for Hart to be opposed to the Outsiders when in fact it was all a scheme for the nWo 2000 to get all of the gold by Starrcade. As for the censors...Vince himself has uttered the word "asshole" on TV. What kind of curse words was Nash using? Certain words merit a fine by the FCC. To stay edgy, Vince would simply pay the fines. The way things are going with the FCC now, that all may have changed, but I'm not sure about it in terms of cable TV. There is no FCC fine for cable television. It's a myth. They have no jurisdiction over cable TV, as much as they'd like to.
