WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Placebo Effect replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
I just brought this up in another thread as it suddenly popped into my mind, but who remembers the WCW Women's Cruiserweight Title. The damn thing probably never even garnered a MENTION on WCW Nitro, as they had a small tournament on WCW Pro and/or Worldwide, the match for the title itself, and then I'm not sure if it was even defended once in America before vanishing. -
Why the WCW Women's Cruiserweight Title of course.

Jesus Christ! RF Video doing a SABU shoot!
Placebo Effect replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
If anyone here gets the shoot, let me know and I'll buy a copy. Like Psycho, there's no way RF, or still ROH (since Gabe participated in a cover-up with the pedophile for months), will be getting my money anytime soon. -
I think the money goes right in Vince's pocket. If it actually did go to charity, they'd surely make mention of it all over the auction site.

Old School Randy Savage Questions
Placebo Effect replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
He no-showed the WWA Revolution PPV, wrestled Rodman on that Generation-Z or whatever shitty tour that was called, and I think that's about it. -
Man, the Alter Bridge video was dissapointing.

You're a tad bit misinformed. Flair dropped the title at a house show because he was injured. There are conflicting reports on the exacts, but I believe it was an inner ear infection. I believe the plan all along was for Backlund to drop the title to Backlund at the MSG show.

The best thing you can do for yourself before going to a show, any show, is check out the band's message board, or Google, for a setlist. Bleeding Through: 1) love lost in a hail of gunfire 2) sweet vampirous (1.5 mins of musical perfection, you will not go wrong with this song) 3) on wings of lead (later in the set, not in order) 4) revenge i seek 5) this is love, this is murderous 6) rise 7) savious, saint, salvation Himsa: "Cherum", "Girl in Glass", and their most popular song, "Rain to the Sound of Panic", Arch Enemy: Enemy Within Silent Wars Burning Angel We Will Rise Dead Eyes See No Future Dead Bury Their Dead Savage Messiah Instinct Bury Me An Angel Ravenous Cradle: Gilded C**t Nemesis The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh Mannequin Nymphetamine Her Ghost In The Fog The Forest Whispers My Name The Promise Of Fever Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids From Cradle To Enslave

He apparently showed up late to a couple shows and probably didn't react too well when he was admonished. TNA, seeing that they had Synn on the sidelines, kicked him to the curb
-
Who in the hell gave TNA the idea that monthly PPVs were a good idea right off the bat with ONE HOUR of TV a week. ECW at least had Hardcore TV to accompany the TNN show.

Weekend Boxoffice Report, November 24-28
Placebo Effect replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
For some stupid, twisted reason I'm glad Christmas With The Kranks made money despite it likely being shit. Don't ask. -
Alexander - Well, it's apparently a pile of shit.
Placebo Effect replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
Damn. I'm sure Nickelodeon is more than happy, though. The point of the movie was to not only make money from the theatrical/DVD sales, but also to get more people aware of what Spongebob was, bringing out more and more marketing tie-in opportunities. -

Yes, which is slated for 2006 release. Baz Luhrmann is directing it, Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet. And Nicole Kidman is Olympias. He has been working on the film ever since Rouge was completed. I remember reading that in EW a while back. If you have the issue, read EW's article all about Alexander. That movie looked to be never getting made, nor will it ever now that this has happened. But yeah, I had a feeling this would be terrible. It's a shame, because I would have really liked to see America's reaction to a movie with homosexual undertones becoming a huge grosser. -

Because he was an alcoholic. WCW logic for you. -
You can't really do that because, believe it or not, there are a lot of fans who tune into wrestling partly because of the Turkey Gravy matches and what not shit that we smarks dislike.

Keep in mind that they're not going to blow their load all in one year by inducting ten very known guys.

What's the worst WCW Nitro Ever?
Placebo Effect replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
I can't call a WCW Russo show the "worst ever" simply because his booking was such an abortion the first time around that it's shockingly entertained. How can anyone dislike the absurdity of Madusa vs. Buzzkill? -
Concert Recomendations, Who Should I See
Placebo Effect replied to SpikeFayeJettEdBebop's topic in Music
Doesn't look like too much great stuff is coming to your area. Lit is pretty damn good live, and they're headlining in Baltimore. GWAR is quite the experience live, and they're headlining in DC. -
Probably because the market for wrestling in 1995-mid 1997 was absolute shit. Plus, Coliseum Home Video was still releasing WWE tapes, and they were quickly pricing themselves right out of the market, as at a time where an overabundance of product was allowing for products prices to be slightly lowered, Coliseum only raised theirs to about $60 a tape. Lower demand + Higher prices = Less video stores willing to purchase. As a result, CHV had to throw two events on one tape, or try to market them with a different name to make the fans think they were getting a special event.
-
That's be fun to see, but it sets a dangerous precedent because the idiotic mark fans will think they can get involved without anything happening to them.

Having gastric bypass makes that a tad bit difficult.

This is so damn awkward without announcers.

ECW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Placebo Effect replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Was he with Corino during his period as a face? And I had thought the injury was fake just because of how Victory used to constantly get the shit beat out of him despite it. I loved the speech Corino gave at a show talking about how the arena lacks a handicapped ramp so Victory had to sit on top of the entrance way and cheer throughout the match. -

Victory was either faking an injury, or had a legit injury (for a short period of time), and he and Corino simply played it up beautifully. Once Corino turned face, I believe Victory ditched the chair, though I may be wrong.
