WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Placebo Effect replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Yes, they did get back together pre-Russo. It was all together crap, and just featured them facing the West Texas Rednecks and the Dungeon of Doom fifty-seven times in a row. -
I'm really, really hoping we get the return of insane Erik Watts.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

They just stole it from ECW where all the wrestlers would come out and watch a momentous match because it was so important. WCW kind of lowered the standard. -
There was a Barry Horowitz t-shirt that they advertised during the PPV broadcast of Summerslam 95. No matter what it looks like, that one takes the cake.

This show is so God damn good. I was laughing for at least five minutes after the "Buster in Mexico" plot. And not to mention... Michael: That's Anne, George Michael's girlfriend. Gob: Is she funny or something?

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

It was a really awkward and quick angle that went absolutely nowhere. For a week or two, Lenny was in the crowd with the USE ME sign. Ernest Miller, angry at Lenny for disturbing his shows, decided to give him one shot to get back into WCW. The only way to get his spot back, though, was to defeat The Wall in a Tables Match. If I remember correctly, this was also the backstage promo where Miller did the quite funny "snatch the pebble out of my hand" speech. That Thunder, Lenny went over The Wall in a Tables Match in less than three minutes when The Wall "accidentally" fell backwards off the apron, putting himself through a table and giving Lenny his job back. Later in the night they cut to what was either Lenny and Rection, or Lenny and The Wall. They shook hands, and the MIA member said, "Buddy system." If I remember correctly, Lane was never seen again after that. -
I dug the Nelson/Marge relationship, but wasn't feeling the majority of the Lisa jokes.

As much as I like Steamboat, he's fucking boring in an on-air role.

Well that's wonderful. Now Craig will just feel free to flip out and act as shitty as he wants because his lawyers will always get him off for it.

Good to see the Joe Schmo actors are getting work
Placebo Effect replied to Mik's topic in Television & Film
The black girl from Joe Schmo 2 was already a working actress prior to getting her part on the show. She has a supporting role in Jim Wynorski's above average direct-to-video film Gale Force, was on Young & Restless, and even got turned into a mannequin in the original Wishmaster. Lucky the guy they picked for the show wasn't a film mark. -

I remember marking out for Spike Dudley when he went through that period where Paul brought in Mabel, Erik Watts, PN News, and other jokes for the sole purpose of quickly being squashed by him. -
Wow. I haven't kept up to date with CZW for months. Look like a lot has changed.

And with your $20, Rob can make his Internet payments for the month of December...

ROH is probably getting raped in their asses as far as residuals goes, and TNA probably feels that it's better to wait out a proper distributor than get locked into a bottom of the barrel contract.

The only joke I sort of liked was the neighborhood's reaction to Homer's sex talk, and even then it was a half laugh. Hopefully they bust out another (close to) great episode like they did with "The President Wore Pearls" last season.

If I remember correctly, Dramarama and the Smithereens are playing Sayreville, NJ and Clutch is in Philly. I'm thinking about Clutch.

Worst Concert You've Gone To On Your Free Will?

Chevelle put me to sleep at Ozzfest 2003. I saw Mudvayne headline on an off-Sanitarium date. Meh. -
Big shows in York/Hershey PA In January
Placebo Effect replied to 1234-5678's topic in General Wrestling
Damn. I might just have to make the two and a half hour drive. After all, Koko B. Ware's going to be there. -
Mike Tenay after Goldylocks turned on Erik Watts: "Goldylocks, you WHORE!"

You were just fooled by his stocky physique.

Schedule For Best Damn Sports Show Wrestling Week
Placebo Effect replied to a topic in TNA Wrestling
Probably not, as they all likely run under five minutes as is the norm with Impact. -
I loved the Flanders part. The other two were super meh, though.

Fucking brilliant. Best show on television.

Worst Concert You've Gone To On Your Free Will?
Placebo Effect replied to King Kamala's topic in Music
Hmmm... Biohazard about two years ago was pretty fucking weak because I'd never heard their music, nor those of the opening bands. Everclear was God awful. Not only was the performance bad, but they sounded absolutely terrible. The Exies were direct support, and weren't very good. Authority Zero, though, was great. Senses Fail, Silverstein, Name Taken, and Madison was crap. I'm sure I'll think of some others. -
Has The Internet And/Or DVR/Tivo...
Placebo Effect replied to The Dames's topic in Television & Film
I download and burn about twenty different shows a week. It'll take me a very, very long time to watch them, but I know that ten years from now, having the complete run of Center of the Universe or something will be fucking beautiful. I also use TiVo. I almost never watch live TV now. I love it because it allows me to sleep and study whenever I want, and it saves time since I can watch a thirty-minute show in twenty-three.
