You all bitched and moaned when Eugene came about, so just let it happen.

House Show Results from Roanoke (7/25/04)
Placebo Effect replied to cawthon777's topic in The WWE Folder
Good to see they're using house shows to give experience to the new guys like Heidenreich who need longer matches to learn ring mechanics. -
84. The Sting/Vampiro feud, which culminated with an obvious stuntman being set on fire. 85. I'll lump a bunch into one; booking nonsensical, unexplained, and dropped matches and angles. For example, the DNA Test match where the workers (nor the audience) was aware it was First Blood, the Daffney/Crowbar love angle that went nowhere, Pamela Paulshock getting hit on my Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf, the women's match on that Australian show, etc. 86. Keeping Nitro at three hours for too long. By the time 1999 came along, they had absolutely no way to fill that shit up. 87. Don't think that Goldberg turning heel was mentioned. 88. Kronik main eventing Halloween Havoc 2000.

Top grossing tours of the year so far...
Placebo Effect replied to Use Your Illusion's topic in Music
The unknown band is actually unsigned at the moment, which is a pretty big feat for them. -
I marked out when Charro appeared on The Simpsons, though I'm fairly certain she didn't voice the character. Can't wait for this shit to start. I watched the last four episodes from season two yesterday, and this show is absolutely fantastic.

Remember that the match has a money vs. contract stipulation attached to it, and they've built up Abyss starting to hate Shelley and Goldylocks in recent weeks. I can see Abyss turning on Shelley, and D-Ray and Shark Boy becoming rich.

CZW Tournament of Death 3 Results!
Placebo Effect replied to Nevermortal's topic in General Wrestling
Wifebeater winning is a tad bit daunting. That blood spraying must have been an unbelievable sight. I was going to go to DE today and photograph the show, and now I really wish I had. Going to pre-order this the second I can. -
Trish Stratus has been caught in the act...
Placebo Effect replied to Eclipse's topic in The WWE Folder
Damn it. -
Exactly. They just never mentioned it again. The Canadians watching TNA for the first time are going to be smashing their heads aganist the wall.

People complain when Jarrett doesn't wrestle on Impact. They complain when he wrestles a comedy act on Impact so he can get a (relatively) clean win. They'd complain if he got a cheating win over a guy like Pat Kenney in the main event because he'd be "killing his heat" or something to that extent. And in the rare event that they'd give away a Jarrett/Killings match on Impact, it'd either end in a cheap win for Jarrett, a DQ, time limit, or no contest, which would result in complains. I rarely hate on smarks, but that's a situation where you're never satisfied. About other stuff. At the very least, Negro and Aguila are being used as jobbers. It'll be nice to see Kid Romeo again. Maybe he'll bring the glowsticks. And as for Kazarian/Daniels match, see above.
-
The Kazarian/Daniels match wouldn't make the air because both men have to look strong going into Wednesday. If you had Kazarian win thanks to interference from Shane, which brought out Skipper to make the save, then TNA would be stuck booking a tag match for the next week. And if there was a DQ ending, much of the same would be expected.

I don't know why, but I laughed my ass off for about a minute after reading that one. Of course, this was February 1996, so not too many people got the joke. As did I.

Using a program named NetTransport, I will be able to cap the extra matches. Unless if someone else wants to do the deed that we can trust, I'll take up the task of doing this, pending that we can get at least 6 members to each donate $5 via paypal. I'm going to test out NetTransport a bit more to confirm that I'll definitely be able to do this before I begin taking money, but is anyone interested in this? I'll put the content up via one of the wrestling torrent sites, so we don't have to worry about fnding a host.

I'm fairly certain Jimmy Hart is one of those guys who never has a bad thing to say about anyone, as he just kisses ass a considerable amount of the time. Could be an interesting read for funny stories, but there's no way he'll be trashing anyone, as Harley Race's book has the potential to do.

WWE 24/7 should be like the NFL Network....
Placebo Effect replied to Kizzo's topic in The WWE Folder
They better have more than 750 hours of footage. If you combined all WWF/E, NWA/ECW, and ECW PPVs, you'd probably be close to hitting 750. -
Just imagine a serious newsman reading that line and you can see why I'm laughing.

The Ultimate Warrior Causes AOL Crash

Brilliant. -
Billy Gunn hasn't even been seen on Smackdown for quite a while, minus the London/Kidman celebration. So if you got rid of Billy Gunn on Smackdown, there'd be more room on Velocity for... A second FBI match???
-
Pretty much, you're right. I love the company, but they fuck up constantly and consistently.
-
If you get the kind of show Angle got, well, then I'd say it's well worth it.
-
Well, there are two divisions of indy shows. There are the smark friendly shows, which, of course, are the ones that get tons of coverage here. On the other side of things is the family friendly circuit, which typically consists of washed up wrestlers (Honky Tonk, Iron Sheik, Buff Bagwell). These shows often draw really well all across the country thanks to families coming. Billy Gunn is fucking crazy to think that TNA will book him for any longer than two months. I doubt they'll even bring Gunn in to feud with Jarrett, and if they do, it'll be him (rightfully) jobbing relatively quickly.
-
Yes it would. Other than that, you made good points.
