Mikey also won a match against a Villano on Saturday Night. The thing is, signing Mikey made absolutely no sense. Scott Keith made note of it, and this is the same feeling I got. Mikey was never a tremendous talent, and never showed a huge amount of charisma prior to the genius gimmick Paul gave him, Tajiri, and Mitchell in ECW. So why sign the guy when there are twenty guys on the roster who can do just about the same thing?

Ohhh my God. Bowdown to Fairplay, for he is your new God! That situation with Pena sounds like a huge clusterfuck.

Dave Meltzer's Great American Bash Review
Placebo Effect replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
Can't believe you included that. -
AKA, Matthews isn't going to be getting laid after the Afterburn voiceovers anymore. And there's nothing that wrong with the continuity guy not being a wrestling fan, pending that they have him sit down and watch the past six months or so of TV. The WWE will never try to keep constant continuity, as anything other than major mistakes from before that period likely won't get through.

5'10" and something around 185. Hopefully I'll have that down in the 177-180 range by the end of July thanks to the running and better food I plan to eat.

The video for their song Ocean Avenue is badass. Not necessarily the storyline of the video, but I love the directing. Not a bad band. Not great by any means, though.
-
Yuck. I don't mind radio rock that much, but that line-up is terrible. In addition to them, you've got Puddle of Mudd, and freakin' 12 Stones was just added. Do yourself a favor and buy the first album from a band called Thornley. They're the opening band on the show, and while their music is not spectacular, it's still better than the shit you'll be inundated with the rest of the night.

To quote Bill Maher, we don't do anything about the countries in Africa, or even North Korea, because they don't have "strategic American interests. And by that, I mean white people and oil."

Anyone have a picture of when the Giant gave Hogan
Placebo Effect replied to Vampiro69's topic in General Wrestling
If the picture was on Wrestlecrap, I'm fairly certain RD would e-mail it to you. Just e-mail him and ask him nicely. -
To say that they aren't competition at all is a tad bit condescending when TNA is moving up at such a rate. Most are just saying that the WWE's opinion will certainly change if, come the Fall, TNA has a primetime slot on FX.

OHHH NO! If he's liked backstage, he'll spend two or three weeks doing Xplosion squashes, and then they'll throw him out with Jeff Jarrett, Raven (with a makeover), or even The Naturals in the bodyguard role. I think even TNA knows the guy isn't going to make it in a wrestling role.
-
He might be doing a pay-per-appearance deal.
-
Well, there are times when the Xplosion matches are three, four weeks old. Who knows if these will ever get shown, though I really hope they do.
-
NO!!!!!! I don't want them in TNA. Hell, I don't even know if TNA would want them. For all the shit that Jeff Jarrett's given, he's still 5 times better than Holly and Gunn could ever hope to be.

from the guy who made 'dude, where's my car?'
Placebo Effect replied to a topic in Television & Film
I don't really want to watch the trailer again, but I believe it says "Asian." -
That was probably one of their last shows. I still remember, for some reason, the January 6th, 2004 date for the Manson/Jane's Addiction tour that got canceled. I don't believe they've played many shows since then.

Damn, that does look pretty good. I absolutely love how they know they have no marketable stars, so they're playing off their supporting roles in other movies. -
I'm going to hopefully go see Clutch do a two-hour set in September. Hopefully being the keyword.

OMG! Upright Citizens Brigade was on!

Ohh my God. I love that freakin' episode. -
TNA Notes, including moving PPV location
Placebo Effect replied to TNABaddboi's topic in TNA Wrestling
I stand corrected. On that note, hopefully there will slowly be people willing to come there just for TNA. I know that if they had ran in Atlantic City every week as they were thinking about, I'd take the train up there every week without complaint to see TNA. -
I find the Kid Rodeo slip-up pretty hilarious.

God, I wish they'd just bring Watts back with the insane character again. I'm a fan of Erik Watts. I have no idea why, but I like the guy. But his current character, especially since coming back and not having the badass threads, sucks. If TNA feels the need to bring him back in, for Christ's sake, make him come back crazy. He rocked then because he rarely wrestled, and just cut whacky promos on Raven to help a feud that never really concluded.

DRT has a pretty smart business plan. They sign up popular acts that were dropped/left record companies, and make some pretty good money off of them. They've got GWAR, Edwin McCain, Lit, Josh Todd (from Buckcherry), Clutch, and Seven Mary Three

TNA Notes, including moving PPV location
Placebo Effect replied to TNABaddboi's topic in TNA Wrestling
Unfortunately, you have to pay for park admission to attend the Impact tapings. And according to their website, a one day admission ticket to Universal Studios costs $55.00. -
TNA Notes, including moving PPV location
Placebo Effect replied to TNABaddboi's topic in TNA Wrestling
The great thing about the Orlando location is that they get a new set of fans every show. Even in December, or when it's nearly thunderstorming, you're still going to have people there on vacation searching for a place of sanctuary for two hours. They need a new set for the PPV, yes. But having them both there is perfect, at least to me.
