INTERVIEW (part 4): GQ Money/Lee Handsome
Placebo Effect replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Another really good segment. Here are some questions for Pogo... Did he ever receive merchandise revenue from XPW from his t-shirt? Was the angle with him abducting, brainwashing, or whatever it was supposed to be, Sandman's daughter supposed to go anywhere? I know it got fucked up when Sandman got barred from Philly or whatever it was. Was him leering at children and sucking on lollipops a creation of his own? What was it like shooting some of the desert vignettes (sp?) in CA? Did he feel Rob was at a lost for finding usefulness for him when they were flying him out to Philly just to dispose of Simon Diamond, J-Love, etc. While in Philly, he ever encounter angry wrestlers from rival companies? Was Pogo interested in Gacy before picking up the gimmick? Thanks Barber. -
Go to a reputable dealer, and for the price of 3 RF Video ROH tapes, you can probably score 8-12 ROH events.
-
Well, what we can be thankful for is that this is just a teaser trailer prepared by the distribution company. This will likely not reflect on the actual quality of the film. I still hold high hopes for it.
-
BoxOfficeGuru What's sad is that the Olsens can just greenlight a direct-to-video film next week and score a quick $5, $10 mil or so from it.
-
I didn't make it out for that show. However, let me ask you this; how was the area? I was discouraged by people from going who feared that I would be stabbed. I suspected it was bullshit, but chose to do something else when I was presented with it.

TNAW just seems... Awkward. I like the NWA idea. Just keep tacking on the "Total Nonstop Action" to advertisements, posters, etc., but don't use initials.
-
Apparently, Modest hit the move at APW's Carnival Of Carnage 2.
-
It this was before the RF incident, I'd seriously lay down $300 tonight. But alas, no chance I'll throw a $1 to them at this point.
-
CZW also has some terrible looking C-show tonight, a sold show that benefits a charity that's basically going to be all students. For some reason, even though I haven't been to an arena show in six months, I'm going to make the travel tonight so I can see f'n Cory Kastle get a ten minute match.

The One And Only Friends Series Finale Thread...
Placebo Effect replied to a topic in Television & Film
But are they really watching the finale, cause I can't quite tell from the muffled TV sounds if it's the finale. When I download the episode later I'll have to compare the laugh tracks for a brief moment. In other news, look at all the races they managed to fit onto the screen. This, however, is pure genius by TV Land. They've gotten mainstream publicty out of it, the sponsorship by Hotels.com, and the ratings they're getting right now are probably much the same, or larger, than they would've been with a Leave it to Beaver rerun. -
The One And Only Friends Series Finale Thread...
Placebo Effect replied to a topic in Television & Film
Ohh my God. Turn on TV Land right now. It's a bunch of people from TV Land WATCHING Friends. it's so incredibly awkward that I must tape the rest of it. Edit: And by TV Land, I mean I believe it's just employees from the network. -
Personally, I love the new KSE. I can, however, see why those who like very hard metal would dislike it. But for someone like myself who digs heavy, heavy metal without nonsensical screaming, I'm loving it. Not exactly big on the back-up vocals on "Take This Oath" and such, though.
-
There are no words to describe that. Plus, it's nice of her to get dressed up for the event and all.
-
My God. That's going to be another LOOOONG show from U.S.A. Pro. How do they stay financially stable? The guys they use are far from cheap.
-
Considering that they're hoping to tape matches in Orlando, I can only imagine that they'll start throwing out some worthwhile matches on the show. I assume they'll keep Xplosion around.

The Ultimate Warrior is coming to my school!
Placebo Effect replied to The Tino Standard's topic in General Chat
Bring a tape recorder with you, and try to pass yourself off as a campus website if you get the chance. Ask him for a short interview. Ask two simplistic questions, then get into asking him what destrucity means, what the fuck the comic book was, the Ultimate Warrior training video (if you saw the feature on Wrestlecrap), etc. See how long is takes him to blow you off. -
TNA holds onto the money to ensure the wrestler works the date. TNA isn't going to want a wrestler who get caught in traffic throw a hissy fit over giving the $____ back. Also, when they're getting money months in advance, no one knows what the status of that wrestler is going to be three months down the line. Injured, dead, quit the sport, etc. For an indy promoter, getting that 50% back from TNA will be a lot easier than getting it from Joe Schmo. In addition, TNA asking for the 50% up front can also be perceived as a way for TNA to get their guys money if the show gets canceled all of a sudden. While I'm sure Raven has the luxury of being able to ask for money up front if something like this happens, I don't think Sonjay would have the same luck. I'm not a big fan of TNA doing this, but to attack them on that basis is wrong.
-
Since TNA is paying for the time, I doubt it. If they get an actual TV deal, then I can imagine FSN will replay it once or twice late at night.

Double post...

I loved that peninsula joke. "Now you can WALK home," or whatever it was, made that joke. I still want new Simpsons episodes. I love the absolutely random nature of the show now, even though the randomness is nowhere near as good as it was during the past couple seasons.

AJ Benza had a terrible one that got canceled within two weeks or so. At that time, he was filling in for Jackie on the Stern Show, and when all the calls came in laughing at him for how poor the show was doing, AJ got into a fight with Stuttering John. So in the span of a day, his show got canceled, and he got fired from a radio gig.
