I hope you don't believe the Iranians are the only ones committing espionage.

I'm expected to vote for a party that will unilaterally repeal our freedoms, or for a party that will bankrupt the country? No thanks. The current government has done an outstanding job of that, haven't they? One Conservative MP made a personal remark and everyone painted the party with his views. And as far as bankrupting the county goes: Where is our money? Lost in a failed gun registry, the HRDC scandal and Adscam. Yep, Canada deserves the Liberals, and they definately deserve to lose even more money and services to being stupid enough to reward the Liberals yet again.

So far it looks like the Liberals have a large minority. I'm sorely disappointed in the electorate right now; Martin now knows he can get away with anything, since we refused to punish his party for 11 years of corruption. Thanks for nothing, Ontario.

It's time for you, the POSTERS, to decide!

Yes and the impression from those that frequent CE (or from me at least) is that those who mostly hang around HD are the ones that call other people idiots and such. Where did most of the bitching about the wwe folder and wanting it closed come from? HD. CE > HD you guys just don't know what you're missing -
I know the candidate I voted for hasn't a hope in hell of winning, since my riding like many others will be a race between the Conservatives and Liberals. Mine was more a protest vote than anything else.
-
Spoiling your ballot or not voting at all is the worse thing you can do. It sends a message through your indifference that you approve of the political status quo. I voted Green, mostly because the major national parties don't deserve my vote.

And so it begins.

Basically the Conservatives want to privatize parts of medicare, thus creating a two-tiered health system. The fear is that this will create an unequal health system and thus it would not longer be "universal", but if you have the money, you'll be treated first.

Where did I ever say you should be banned? Typical putting words in other people's mouths. My point is you sound like a troll defender because you aren't exactly defending good company. The likes of Unger, Kamumi and LiberalFlip hardly prove any point about a conservative bias here. If someone like Tyler, JotW or NoCal got banned you might have a point. They seem to be doing completely fine here. Unger wasn't a good poster, but I did and do question the reason for his banning. As for Liberalflop, he hasn't said anything worse than what we hear from the far more established posters. It's just the opposite side of the politcal spectrum. Anyway this will probably degrade into a pointless argument like most are here, so I'll drop it.

Oh yes, I'm a liberal, thus by your logic I am also a troll. Please. If I was one, I'd have the unregistered title under my name.
-
Funny, you're trying your hardest to get me banned, aren't you. Throwing about accusations at me like that. Whether or not he should have been banned for that post, he wasn't. But I have seen blatant trolling and flaming from those not of a liberal viewpoint and it slides. I see a double standard and you call me a troll defender, when I wasn't the only one here that questioned his banning.

Calling all conservatives racists in your first post on the forum is a great way to make sure people will take you seriously. Stop defending every troll because they happen to have a dissenting viewpoint. Of course trolls that hit this forum are going to do the liberal thing because it'll get more reaction. JOTW, Tyler and numerous others have done just fine here because they are sensible in debates. This "I got banned for having a different opinion" is bullshit and used by people like Unger and Kamumi or whatever his name was. Don't call me a troll defender. Unger wasn't banned for being a troll, he was banned for stating an opinion many here found offensive. And as for calling conservatives racists, if I only recently joined this forum and read a thread basically saying Rodney King deserved what he got then yeah I would draw that conclusion. So why don't you stop circling the wagons and stop assuming that trolls will take on a liberal persona. There's far more conservative trolls here than liberal ones, as there's also alot more conservative posters here.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have found the counterbalance to the kkk-onservative Brigade. Seriously though, he has a point. I notice this disturbing trend of calling for anyone that's not a conservative to be banned if their viewpoints are counter to those of the majority. The fact of the matter is, a lefty is treated far more harshly by the mods here than a right-winger. Do you honestly believe Mike or Marney wouldn't have gotten booted if they were left-wingers? I don't.

and look what happened, the PC party got down to non existant after what Mulroney pulled. TWO FUCKIN SEATS! And who is helping Harper? Brian Mulroney... I like the way my country is now, and I don't want to wind up like that sespool down there. The PC's lost because Mulroney was seen as being too cozy with Reagan and they brought in the GST and free trade. I don't recall the Liberals rescinding either. The Liberals are far more corrupt than the PC's, and the fact that they need to draw a connection between the current Conservatives and the Mulroney PC's, even blaming him for the deficit (which was more the fault of Trudeau) shows the Liberal's desperation. Fuck the Liberals, they pull this stunt about losing our national identify if they're not the governing party every election. They've been in power far too long, are corrupt and have squandered our money with scandal and patronage.
-
The Liberal scare tactics stating basically a vote for the Conservatives is a vote against the country are almost as bad as the ones they used in the '88 election where they tried to frighten voters with the line that a vote for the PC's was a vote for the FTA and for making Canada the 51st State. Obviously, we're not, and have no desire to ever be, but the media and thus the parties insist that we're "not a real country" and have no national identity and that the very foundation of our Confederation is cracked and could crumble at any time. I feel insulted.

It works fine, but occasionally it emits a faint, highpitched whistle. Anyone know what causes this and how it can be corrected?

This needs to be made a classic thread.

Affirmative action is nothing but a thinly veiled method of apartheid and segregation.

Transformers #2 with Gargoyles as a write in for #1. Oberon owns you all.

I have BG2, haven't played it in a while but if I remember correctly, my character was in the mid teens for level, so it might be the roughly the same for Dark Alliance.

I gotta agree: Rodney King is an ignorant fuck that now has a get out of jail free card ever since that infamous beatdown.

Ok I just saw an excerpt from an interview with Randy White. This kook is far too willing to use the notwithstanding clause. I think I'll vote Green, come Monday; at least they're in favour of decriminalizing marijuana.

Below the Root. Pirates! Old school C64 goodness. www.the-underdogs.org is a pretty good abandonware site too.

I think Bush handled himself and his office extremely well during the 9/11 attacks and in the weeks following. I'm not a big fan of his, but I support him in the war in Iraq and in this. That being said, I got a little question: He's been critisized for going around in Airforce One during the attacks, and basically being called a coward. I've a feeling he had no real say in the matter and he was put on the plane as part of some security measure in the event of an attack (which this was). Am I right or very much mistaken?

So what now? This is potentially a far more explosive situation than anything in the Middle East right now and needs to be stopped now. While I share MikeSC's opinion about the US solving everyone's problems (and then being shat on by the little ingrates) I do think this is one of those situations where there is a moral, if not political reason to intervene. I also think it will happen, since Bush has shown previously that he'll send in troops/aid/etc. when he feels it's "The right thing to do" (Liberia, Haiti, etc.)
