FCC Rules "F" Word ok for primetime
Highland replied to OldSchoolWrestling's topic in Current Events
Canadian standards are fucked up, to say the least. Yes, we'll show nudity and swearing, and also most forms of violence, but apparently violence against women rates worse than showing cunnilingis or some guy saying 'fuck off and die' while blowing someone apart with a shotgun. -
You're right, it's awful and I shouldn't have said it. But they are acting like the Borg or something, no individuality....

If one of you Jolly Rogers jumped off a cliff and fell to an imminent and gruesome death would the rest of you follow suit?
-
I'm already registered. Neat.
-
Good, it's nice to see Rodney and Shane got over it.
-
"Oh fuck off!" The words I blurted out as I finished reading the article.

I wasn't that impressed, but it's his first televised match so I'll wait til I see more before making a further judgement.

Good, it's about time. Television and most other forms of entertainment have always been afraid to show or say what happens in the real world. -
What Cancer Marney said.
-
Probably.

I still wonder who Kane pissed off to be buried like this time after time over his career (Kate Vick and Shane). I'm guessing Shane's supposed to be some inner city punk or something, with his baggy steet clothes and his hands signs and his stupid footwork.

All of us in Canada have known for years that the British and American censors are whacky and stupid. You mean like, any table spot with women, even woman-on-woman = crowd shot? Yeah I always wonder why they pan to the crowd shot whenever a woman is attacked on Raw, but we don't edit swearing and more gratuitous violence. Go figure.

Hey TheNewMe, what happened to your bin Laden-changing-into-OJ Simpson avatar? It was certainly more evil than Tony Soprano. Are you getting soft on us?

An easier method would be to do away with the celibacy rule. It's not even in the Bible and was introduced centuries after the formation of the Catholic Church. People that are willing to go for an entire life without sex or even without desires for it are abnormal. It's why the priesthood attracts so many homosexual pedophiles.

You can also discuss the utter disdain the media and most of society have for wrestling. Try and find an article even about the business aspects of wrestling and you'll easily see the contempt in which it is written, as if every rule of journalism, especially objectivity, no longer applies when the subject is professional wrestling.

It's nothing new, and I really doubt Hayes was trying to be disrespectful. There's lots of weddings where someone try to lighten the formal mood and get people to enjoy themselves more. Linda's a prude anyway, I'm more interested in seeing what the reaction of Paul, Stephanie and the boys were.

Are they good brownies?

And you're goading him along TMD.
-
It's the snotty attitude, coupled with a lack of grammatical education that irks me more than anything else.
-
I would have marked the fuck out if he had done that to her.
-
No, because he's not the Ric Flair of old, and his legacy doesn't need to be tarnished by such an unprestigious belt as the Raw belt.

Is this picture real? The head looks difference from the rest of the body, more like it was superimposed onto the body background. Then again, I'm no expert.

I would have to say I'm a smart fan, I'm certainly not a student of the game as I have no wrestling experience. Aside from internet reports, etc, I don't know what goes on backstage, nor do I attend the booking meetings to know what is going on. Am I a mark? I don't know, I hate the term because to me a mark is a fan that cheers for whoever a promotion tells you to cheer for. This is completely different than a heel or face getting the crowd to give a desirable reaction.
