    2006 NBA Finals

Dallas is just dominating this game right now. The Miami Heat are their personal bitches. Can you say sweep?

    2006 NBA Finals

Dallas has a pretty strong fanbase built up now. Obviously, they weren't selling out arenas when they were winning 20 games a year, but now that Cuban's rebuilt the franchise, they have a pretty solid fanbase. There's something like 100 consecutive sellouts, and if they get knocked out in the 1st round or something, it's not enough to dampen anyone's enthusiasm.

This shit just speaks for its fucking self

Come on now, that movie was fucking awesome. A first ballot shoo-in for the unintentional comedy Hall of Fame. I could easily watch it another four times. Oh and:

    Pictures I Like

Wow, I'm glad the boobies are there. I needed them to calm me down after that freaky puppy. I assume it's just wrinkly skin on a sharpei, but it looks like it's brain's falling out or something.

Im going to need some advice..

Not really. The similarities to my own life kind of scare me sometimes. It's not like of never kissed a girl or anything, but my social life's pretty slow right now, and as a 20 year old virgin, I do feel a little stunted sometimes. WP's stories are at least out there enough that I can kind of laugh to myself, but Marvin's struggles sound just a wee bit too familiar. At least I'm not bald and ugly though.

Im going to need some advice..

I'm sure glad I don't work a real job any more. Being beholden to the same place that I don't even pick for 40 hours a week would suck. I still work about 30 hours a week, but it can be at my computer or at multiple casinos, and it's whatever time I pick. God, I'm really glad I decided to become a poker player. Oh, and the money's a big plus too. I make about $30/hr playing live and about $100/hr on the internet.

Well, I'm sure the "Sacramento Queens" still have a healthy dislike for Shaq. Lakers fans and Kings fans cover most of the state don't they?

    World Cup 2006 in Germany

I think Germany takes it 3-0. The home team always gets a big boost in this kind of thing and Germany's much better than Costa Rica to begin with. I've got $200 on them laying 4:1.

    2006 NBA Finals

Yeah, Miami started out red hot from the floor, Dirk had one of his worst games of the postseason, and the Mavericks still cruised to victory. I'm now much more confident that they're gonna take the series. I think I'm ready to amend that "Mavs in 7" pick to "Mavs in 6". Shit, they might even take it in 5.

    TSM Fantasy Baseball 2006

I'm still glad I took Pujols. He'll be there for the playoffs which is what really matters, and I'd say his production over replacement for the early part of the season outweighs the weeks I'll miss him. Besides, I still have the second best player in the league in Soriano. My pitching has gone to shit lately though. Beckett's gone from looking like a Cy Young pitcher the first month of the season to looking like a AA pitcher the last week or so. He gave up 15 runs over 6 innings in his last two starts.

    2006 NBA Finals

Yeah, but that's when Eastern Conference was at about it's worst point in history. Nash's 2005 or 2006 Suns would have beaten that Nets team easily.

    2006 NBA Finals

Nash has spine trouble that limits his minutes. That makes him a question mark to perform at the same level next year. Obviously, his last two years were "prime" since he went from above average point guard to league MVP, but it's understandable for people to think he might dip a little bit next season. Anyway, on to more important things, Game 1 of the Finals tonight! Even though the matchup looks pretty even, I've got $1000 on Dallas for the series and $500 on them for the game tonight, because I've got to support my team, and because I really think the Western Conference was tougher this year and that Dallas is more battle-tested. The Mavs watch up well with Miami too (as the regular season meetings show) and home advantage should help, and I say the Mavs get it done tonight 101-93. Other predictions?

    2006 NBA Finals

Phoenix is going to improve a lot next year with Amare, but the thing is that the rest of the West is improving too. The Clippers, Lakers, and Mavericks are all extremely young teams that are only going to get better in the future. I think next year, with Howard, Harris, and Daniels maturing, the team to beat in the West will once again be Dallas.

    Clean Heel Wins

One that comes to mind is the Fatal Four Way match at the end of 2002 between Angle, Benoit, Guerrero, and Edge. The reason it's notable is that Edge was playing the "face that comes back heroically from injury" (after being attacked by A-Train before the match) and that always ended up with a face win at that point. With a heel champion, the result was basically telegraphed. Then, when Angle beat him clean with the top rope Angle Slam, it was just incredible. A total shocker. Angle did end up turning face immediately after the match to feud with Big Show, but going into the show, he was 100% heel, and Edge's ultimate victory seemed inevitable. I think this "shock factor" is one of the reasons I loved the match so much at the time.

Cuban's tight. Back before I decided to be a professional poker player, he was my role model for life. I mean really, if you had billions of dollars what would you rather do than take control of your favorite sports team and make them into a champion?

    Yahoo/McD's/FIFA World Cup Fantasy Game

I signed up for this thinking it was a pick 'em. No way I can actually pick players. I mean I've heard of like five of these people. Well, I suppose I could, but it would be pretty pointless.

    King Kong

I've seen Red Eye actually, and I didn't like it at all. The dialogue was terrible, and the acting from the two leads wasn't much better. I felt like I was watching a bad Lifetime movie.

    The Sopranos-Season 6

Thought that was pretty weak for a finale. I mean, I don't think that they needed some giant cliffhanger, and I get where they're going about Tony trying to resolve things peacefully now, but still. This is about the first time I can remember seeing a "setup episode" positioned as a finale.

    TSM Fantasy Baseball 2006

Well, it looks like my dominance might be coming to an end for a while. In the very worst news I could hear as a fantasy owner: Pujols out 2 to 6 weeks All right, I guess the worst news would be "Pujols out for the season", but you get the idea. It's bad.

    2006 NBA Finals

I think Miami and Dallas are really, really, evenly matched and have both been peaking at the right time of year. You honestly could hardly find an edge based on talent. Thus, I say homecourt will decide it, and in the only proper ending for a playoff season this good, it will be Dallas in 7.

    NBA Conference Finals

Dallas really did a tremendous job on the defensive end in the second half there. Obviously, having Terry play more than three minutes turned around the offense, but I think it's really the team defensive effort that got them by Phoenix. Next stop, the Finals!

    State Your Unpopular Opinions

It's not "State Your Ignorant Opinions." Seriously, personal feelings is one thing but at its peak WCW was putting on amazing matches, on par with anything WWE/F did at its peak. They'd have one or two good matches a show, but they'd also have five terrible ones that exposed the business. Almost everyone in the main event scene worked their matches at about 1/4 speed with the pattern of hit a move, walk two full circles around the ring, and then be stunned when your opponent got up and hit a move as well. Also, their promos were terrible. People like Hogan and Nash could cut a ten-minute promo and only get four sentences out. Sometimes, their cadence was so slow, that they'd say one word every fifteen seconds. For the record, here, I'm talking about their peak in terms of popularity which was from 1996-1998.

    State Your Unpopular Opinions

-At its absolute peak, WCW was complete and utter crap. -MMA is really boring and has absolutely nothing to do with pro wrestling -There hasn't been a decent feud in the WWE since 2002. -Fit Finlay, JBL, and pretty much everything else on Smackdown are completely unwatchable. -The Spirit Squad is just as bad. -John Cena's even worse. He's the least cool thing on TV this side of anime.

    King Kong

Just thought I'd bump this since I just rented it and saw it last night. Anyway, I get the impression that it was a lot better in theatres, but watching the DVD, it was awful. The inane action sequences went on forever and damn near put me to sleep. I mean, an ape fighting a T-Rex is fine, but do we really need to add iguanas, centipedes, raptors, brontosaurus stampedes, bats, giant mosquitos, and man-eating worms to the mix too? Whatever story was there just seemed to get lost in a never-ending stream of CGI. Also, I thought that the female lead (forgot her name already) overacted everything times about 100. She had the same amazed stare on her face for pretty much the entire movie whether she was auditioning for an acting part or surprised by the boat crash, or enjoying the sunset with the ape. This seemed like a movie that had some potential if they'd cut off about an hour, but by the time the story got moving, you just couldn't wait for it to be over. After all the good things I've heard, I'd have to call this the most overrated movie since Return of the King. Maybe that's just my problem right there. I like a story instead of endless CGI battles. When people say they want to watch ROTK over for the battles, I just want to slap them across the head and say WHY? A bunch of pretend creatures are going to run into a bunch of other pretend creatures, accomplishing nothing. Shit, I'd rather watch someone play a video game.
