WWE has confirmed that Setanta Sports (Sky Channel 435) will be showing the Rumble - there should be previews on as we speak.

Definitely, I always enjoy the Rumble match itself and the undercard is easily the stongest since WMXIX, possibly more so than that. The worst match will almost certainly be the Duds/Evolution one, and even that should be able to make *1/2 with a bit of effort. Count me in on the "Goldberg better not win" bandwagon, though... I could see a great PPV being totally dragged down on the final image of GB getting a Rumble win.

He's been made to look so good during the build-up to make up for the fact that he's going to be squashed in two minutes at the Rumble. And then made to job to Funaki. That's the reason right? Right?

Well, I quite like the sound of a cruiserweight battle royal. You clearly don't. Your second sentence seems to imply that if I moan about not having the exact card I want, the chances of a decent cruiserweight matchup at WMXX will be improved. I really don't see that happening.

And that's what's wrong with the company. "Well, it's not great, or even good, but it's better than nothing, so really, why should I ask for more?" That's not what Mankinnd said at all. It's unrealistic to expect a WMXX card to contain 2-3 high profile, well-booked cruiserweight feud blowoffs. A cruiserweight battle royal will be a change of pace from the rest of the show, and should be fun to watch IMO.

Benoit better go over HBK - He probably will if they play out the story as expected, but more importantly it should be a really, really good match. Austin/McMahon better get cancelled - If Austin wants to be at WMXX, he will be. Accept it. And if he is, I'd rather he goes over McMahon than any of the active workers, wouldn't you? HHH vs. Rock better not be the MAIN EVENT - Highly unlikely. If it's not a title match it'll be Brock/GB. UT vs. Kane better be SHORT. - How many Kane matches aren't rather short? He's knackered after ten minutes. Although Taker's entrance will probably take up plenty of time. Other then that....let's have a great show folks. - Hopefully. I'm really looking forward to WMXX. Deride my naivety at your leisure.

Like others, I suspect this is just a list of matches one person suspects will be on the card, and most of them probably won't make the final card. However, I for one would not complain if that was the WMXX card, you couldn't ask for a better potential pair of title matches really. The interpromotional matches and Austin/Vince won't be anything special technically, but they should bring in good buyrates and have plenty of heat. HHH and Rock always go well together in the ring and the cruiserweights (who will, I expect, be extremely happy just making the card) should put on an enjoyable spotfest. The rest of the card looks solid apart from the 6-man tag...they should really think of something a little more interesting for Foley (and something at all for Cena).

I assume that was added on Raw, which hasn't been on in the UK yet so I haven't caught it. Well, now there's one shitty, pointless match on the card...but Flair will be in it so I'll let it slide.

The only thing about being given the Heat match is that the crowd knows the match is like a 'warm up' for them (and the arena is often not completely full at that point) so are usually quieter than during the PPV itself, which detracts from the match slightly. Also as the match is on at the end of Heat, you know how long it's going to last, whereas on the PPV you don't. But yeah, given the choice between a 15 minute Heat match for the cruiserweights or a 5 minute PPV match, I'll take Heat. Incidentally, I am really looking forward to the Rumble, as yet there isn't a single pointless, shitty matchup...so what's going to be added on Monday to bring the show down a notch? Cade vs. Rosey? The in-ring return of Rodney Mack? An Austin sing-along segment?

I'm not sure he actually lay down on the stage, but he certainly made snoring noises, said Lance was 'sending him to sleep' because he was so boring, and of course started the "Boring!" chant which somehow failed to get Lance over as a credible wrestler.

It's a shame because he seems such a genuinely nice guy, but Lance is going to achieve precisely zero of those 5 goals of his. He should lower his expectations somewhat: 1: Have the longest pointless losing streak ever in WWE. 2: Get humiliated on-air by Stone Cold. 3: Wrestle Randy Orton. etc.

Err...the PPVs are the only things we DO get live! You're quite right though, UK fans (and it's not like there's that many) are not going to put up with paying an extortionate amount for something that we've had free up till now. WWE should quit trying to ream us for so much money, they'll only come out of it with egg on their face when half the UK fanbase goes "Fuck this" and quits watching.

That's actually pretty good, if somewhat cheesy. Although I think Trish would need to be coming round to Jericho a bit before the Rumble to make her running out to save him a little more plausible. Edit: maybe when he sees Trish getting decked by Christian he's up on the turnbuckle, looking to missile dropkick the others? So rather than wasting time getting down back into the ring and through the ropes, he just goes straight off at Christian. Make more sense?

I hope this turns out to be true (though it seems strange - why don't they just have it on Sky Box Office as usual?) because Rumble and WM are the only two PPVs that I always seem to look forward to, regardless of how shit they might look on paper. WWE is kidding themselves if they think that they can make a huge profit in the UK off WMXX.

^^^ I could see that too. But I sure as shit wouldn't want to. I've never been able to work out why people think Nash would make a good commentator - every time he's done it it's been shite IMO. Personally, I LIKE Tazz and Cole. Possibly just because of the current alternative, but there you go. I'd also like to see a Matthews/Heyman combo on Raw - may well be shash, but I think it could be magic.

5 minutes? Love your optimism, but these days a 5 minute match on Heat is an epic, relatively speaking. I'll guess 3 minutes 20, tops. And not only do they job to that shitty finisher, there's a spot in the match where Cade sneezes and both the japs fall over. What a stud!
