It was probably just Cole messing up. Every A-Train match I've seen has the Baldo Bomb referred to as the Derailer, and the backbreaker referred to as the Train Wreck. It's possible, I suppose, that the names were reversed at the very start of the gimmick and I missed the matches...but Cole messing up is the safe bet.
-
No it isn't. The Derailer is DEFINITELY the same as the Baldo Bomb. Definitely definitely.
-
I miss A-Train/Albert. I always thought he was a pretty good big man with a nifty moveset. And his shouting always made me laugh.
-
D'Lo's frog splash = The Lo Down. Albert's Canadian backbreaker = Derailer. D'Lo's two-handed slam = Sky High. Albert's two handed chokeslam = Baldo Bomb, Train Wreck You've got A-Train's moves the wrong way round. The Derailer = Baldo Bomb, Train Wreck = Canadian Backbreaker.

Agreed. At least Long's GM character is reasonably impartial and not utterly predictable, as Bischoff's has become.

$9.95 is a bit overpriced, but it sounds like a bit of fun - and besides, how tight are some of you lot anyway? I'd definitely go in for it if I could apply from the UK. I might try anyway and just give a fake US address. Edit: actually, UseTheSledgehammerUh, it looks like you can change your roster from week to week, although I assume you can't do it in between Tuesday night and Thursday evening. Re-edit: I just checked - you stick with the same roster from Monday to the following Monday.

Hopefully. Not only would it make sense and put a bit of fire in this feud, it's such a sweet spot. And if I remember correctly, Kidman takes the move like a champ. Does this remind anyone else of Lesnar beating up on the Hardys 2 years back? Not only that, but the finish sounds pretty overbooked and indecisive. If anything, this feud seems to have been run backwards, with the feud becoming less and less feuled as it's gone on, and the matches less decisive.

Cheers, SetsunaMeioh. That was...interesting.

1) The WWE product is better now than it was one year ago. True. 2) The WWE product is better now than it was three years ago. False. 3) The WWE product is better now than it is five years ago. True. 4) I believe the in-ring product has improved in the last three years. About a constant. 5) I believe the storylines/feuds/angles have improved in the last three years. Ditto. 6) I wish WCW and ECW were still in existence. False. But I hope TNA and ROH become more realistic competion ASAP. 7) The WWE will have no real competition in the next five years. False. I hope. 8) It was smart for the WWE to go to a "less is more" in ring style. Mostly true. 9) I believe the RAW brand is superior to Smackdown. Until SD! goes live, this will generally always be true. 10) If I could convince Vince Macmahon to push one guy on either roster to the moon, it would be: From a personal standpoint, either Tajiri or London. From a business standpoint, definitely Jericho.

[UK] Taboo Tuesday and Airtime [not America]
clean rob replied to Vanhalen's topic in The WWE Folder
That's pretty cool. Although it begs the question: why can't Raw be on the Tuesday every week? -
But she did say it was Kane's. She said it, then Matt paused and stormed off. Yeah this is correct. They had that whole stupid paternity test crap one week on Raw. When Matt Hardy found out, he started having facial seizures. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Lita turned out to enjoy being with Kane. I'm more shocked Pete Rose as the San Diego Chicken didn't come out and object to the wedding. I really hope this storyline isn't drug out until Wrestlemania... I feel very sad for having paid so much attention to this, but what happened is that Lita said is that she had the baby's and Matt's DNA tested and there wasn't a match, and so "The baby's not yours. It's Kane's." So while she did actually say it's Kane's child, she hasn't checked that it is - just that it isn't Matt's. I noticed this because it clearly leaves the door open for Matt to later find out that it's someone else's kid, and that Lita just assumed (or decided to say) that it was Kane's. Or, they can equally just go with Kane being the dad. Personally, I hope Jazz is revealed to be the true father. But the smart money would obviously be on Vince.

You are high! Lesnar's bumping was extraordinary for someone his size and was way better than Orton's. Neither are/were especially good or bad at selling, so I'd put them about even in that aspect. Orton's had 2 really good matches with Benoit, and after that? Possibly the Foley match, but I'd say his best was the Raw ME with RVD, and that wasn't great. Lesnar's title matches with Guerrero and Benoit were both excellent, and I for one thought all his matches with Angle were good at least. The Rock match, HIAC with Taker and title defence against Rey were all better than anything Orton's done without Benoit.

I seem to be in the minority that actually really like Kidman's SSP. the way he stays in a sort of 'layout' position and doesn't tuck his legs looks pretty cool IMO. Jody Fleisch's is still my favourite though. And like people have said, if he's causing unnecesary injuries to others he should drop it. Perhaps he can swap with London and do a 450. Or they can both do 450's. Or something.
-
Provided that match wasn't for a title, and wasn't the ME... I'd be quite happy to see that at WM21. I've never been a particularly big fan of Rock, but I really don't get this hate for him. And "he tricks people into thinking he has charisma"? Oh come on now. Who in the company at the present time has more charisma than Rock? No-one, that's who.

Rebuttal: TNA has Abyss under contract for quite some time... Too bad no one can grasp the concept of the term "under contract." Well you got me there...I don't know the exact length and terms of Abyss' contract with TNA. Ooh, do I ever feel like an idiot. Rebuttal: 4 is too few PPVs a year when you consider that there are bi-weekly shows these days and the storylines need to move at a quicker pace than they used to. Audiences don't have the attention span to wait 3-4 months for a blow-off to every feud. 8 - 12 PPVs a year is the best amount.
-
Rebuttal: That isn't a statement, now is it? Statement: While we're on the subject - The FU would look ten times better if Cena 'sat out' while executing it. Another statement: Benoit's title reign was done really well. And another statement: Vince will have employed Abyss and/or Burchill by this time next year.

This is stupid. I can see why they aren't showing live Raw, as it'd be on so late, and presumably ad breaks and stuff would be difficult to sort out, by if you're going to move the established timeslot of one of Sky Sports' most watched shows, why not move it to Tuesday? That would actually help with spoilers, moving it from 4 days after the US showing to 3 is going to make fuck all difference. Plus it's my local pub quiz on Thursday nights, so I'm going to have to tape Raw now.
-
You'd think that the EC was an ideal place to give a surprise winner a chance to run with belt, as they aren't really going over anyone in particular. I'd be interested to see how Rey, or RVD or someone getting the belt in an EC match affected ratings. It's be a shock if nothing else. Interesting that Raw is generally regarded as having a better ME scene, yet of the line-ups you listed, I could only see 3 of the 6 Raw guys with a reasonable chance of winning, as opposed to 5 of the SD guys.
-
I highly doubt that will happen. It doesn't allow for much interaction between the teams in the build and fallout of the PPV, and unless you stick a bunch of midcarders in there (which pretty much defeats the object). It could be good though, if WWE stopped half-assing the supposed 'competition' between brands, limited as it is to the 'duelling GMs' bit at every interpromotional PPV, and had the GMs spend the month beforehand trying to recruit their brands top stars for the big match.
-
I'm assuming that will all be forgotten if the bookers decide that a SD elimination chamber is the way to go. I wouldn't be surprised to see the EC turn up at SurSer - as has already been mentioned, WWE will want to get their money's worth out of it. But who would likely be involved? My guesses would be either: Raw: Orton, HHH, Benoit, Kane, Jericho, Edge. SD: JBL, Angle, Eddie, Cena, RVD, Show (provided he could fit in, of course.).
-
I thought we'd already established this. It's because the crowd in Toronto were crap!
-
Quite a few people, judging by the amount of replies these all-too-frequent threads seem to generate. My opinion on Eddie's temper tantrums hasn't changed since the first one that was posted here a year or so ago - whether it's morally justifiable or not, it's still unprofessional behaviour and he needs to get his attitude sorted out. If he needs some time off to do that then Vince should let him have it.
-
I'd agree with that. In particular, I thought the 6-man, the triple threat, Eddie/Kurt and the ME would have all greatly benefited from another 5 mins each. ...and of course it was obvious that diva dodgeball was cut tragically short. They're all being held down by, err, Shannon Moore! That bastard!
-
Just wondering, did you really think last night's show sucked? Personally, I thought the in-ring work was very solid all-round, possibly the best at a PPV all year.
