    Scott Keith gave HHH/HBK ****3/4

If you don't like SK, don't read his rants. Shit on the guy all you want, but only ONE person has pointed out that everyone complains how he hates everything about RAW, and then when he LIKES something, everyone moans about it again. So why is everyone so horrified ? Because it's Scott Keith. I can assure you that if The Dames had given it ****3/4, it would have been little joking 'you overrated it' and that would be the end of it.

    Scott Keith gave HHH/HBK ****3/4

This comes on Friday in the UK. I'm STILL going to go in expecting a shitfest, because if I get my hopes up, I'll probably get a worse match than I am expecting.

    WWE - Positives of 2003

My positives. 1. The return of Kurt Angle, and his ability to STILL put on good to great matches after the injury. 2. The first few weeks of the U.S. Title was great as well. 3. Team Angle. 4. Kane losing the mask and making people CARE.
  7. Jack_Bauer

    Biggest disappointments of 2003

DEFINATELY the fact that the U.S. Title was supposed to be a 'wrestling' title, and then the title was given to The Big Show and hasn't been defended since October.

    Bob Holly

The ONLY way WWE can really save themselves here is by making this a 1 minute squash.

    Randy Orton

OK. 1) I don't think Randy Orton sucks. I sure as hell would take him over Mark Henry or Dave Batista. I think a lot of people have taken the chance to jump on the 'Orton Hate' bandwagon. But ... 2) He is NOT over, and Dave Batista probably WOULD be a better choice as at least the fans give a shit about the guy. They may not care a LOT, but who DO they care a lot about these days. I say if they wanna take a risk, have Randy Orton winning the Royal Rumble, and then see what happens, but I think that it will probably bomb. The safe option would be to have Chris Benoit win and have him lose to Brock at WM, to build towards Benoit's win at Summerslam.

    Gig Review : Iron Maiden

Well, there IS a reason this is getting a section on it's own ya know. Last night, everything seemed to be fucking perfect. Even in the train and on the way there the atmosphere was electric. Mind you the train seemed to have the entire crowd in it so I'm not surprised. The support were Funeral For a Friend. They were pretty amazing and probably the best support band I've seen ( they didn't have a lot of competition in that area though ). Chivo thought they were good but still thinks they suck. That was pretty much the opposite of the rest of us though. They played all of the singles, and the standout was definately 'Juneau' although 'Red Is The New Black' was pretty good as well. They also helped the crowd chant 'Maiden' with their bass drum kicking. I think I'd lost my hoodie at this point ( not that I noticed though ). It was then time for the break between Maiden and FFAF which felt like 30 days and NOT 45 minutes. When they eventually did come on, the entire place just went fucking crazy. 'Wildest Dreams' kicked in and EVERYONE started jumping. From this point in, the crowd were just Maiden's bitches. The crowd singing every word. Then probably one of the main highlights for me came on 'Wrathchild'. I think I actually noticed my hoodie was gone at this point ( not that I gave a shit though ). Anyways, the song was fucking crazy which seemed to be the case with everything. The fans went NUTS for the older stuff. Then Brucey asked the crowd to take two steps back and the crowd actually seemed to listen and take note for the rest of the show ( even though Chivo said that where he was, they were still making you the elbow pin cushion ). 'Can I Play With Madness' was next and then the crazyness starts again. This gig was going beyond the Manics level of greatness and into their own version of plain adorable. 'The Trooper' was next. That was fucking super. We then went into 'Dance of Death'. Ya see, every new song they played ( with the exception of 'Rainmaker' ) was truly phenomenal live and really got the crowd going. Well, 'Rainmaker' DID get the crowd going, but the only thing it got me going to was the toilet. After a well needed piss, I went back and was greeted by 'Brave New World' and I actually got a fucking great place in the crowd when I went back. 'Paschendale' was next, and this song seemed to be focused on a light show and stage show as well as the song. This is usually a song which I would dismiss, but it was superb live and another one of the highlights of the show. Next up was the unknown song of the night called 'Lord of the Flies' which was taken from the Blaze era. It was a good fast song. At this point I worked into an AMAZING place in the crowd. The jumping went higher and everything ! Anyways, the mosh pit was RIGHT beside me and all I kept thinking was 'if someone puts me in there, they fucking die'. Next up was the epic 'Hallowed Be Thy Name'. Wasn't the awesomely amazing song that I was expecting but it was fucking great anyways. Then they added something special to the setlist that they hadn't been playing on the tour. 'Fear of the Dark'. It was the best song of the night for SURE ! Probably because I wasn't even expecting them to play it. 'No More Lies' was another great song on what was quickly becoming the best gig I had ever been to. They then pulled out the 'Scream For Me Glasgow, SCREAM FOR ME GLASGOW ! FOR THE IRON MAIDEN !' The entire place just went fucking through the roof at this point. And then we got ... EDDIE . It was more like 'Grim Eddie' though with the cape from Dance of Death on show with him. It was fucking HUGE, and looked really cool. They then went off and they actually didn't wait TOO long before they came back on for the encore. When they came back, the played the highlight of the entire night for me. 'Journeyman' was truly amazing and I love that song about a million times more now than I did going into the gig. And then 'Woe to you oh earth and see, for the Devil sends the beast with wrath because he knows that time is short ....' and so on and so on. 'Number of the Beast' felt more like a build up for the grand finale though. The finale was of course 'Run to the Hills' which probably officially gained me a sore throat for the next two years. Anyway, the difference with this and the rest of the gigs I've been to, is that the bad songs at the others seemed to kind of drag the event down. Last night was different though, because the good songs were just TOO good for the bad to do anything. Make no mistake, Iron Maiden will probably be the best band I see for a VERY long time, and that's saying something. Manic Street Preachers have FINALLY been beaten and now Iron Maiden are the kings of the live world. At least for now.

    More ingenious booking ideas

Raven is a perfect plucky underdog I reckon, so this idea would actually be really good, but why not have Shane Douglas bring in CM Punk and Julio Dinero ? I don't like Dusty so I wouldn't be up for that, but I like Dustin so I think they should bring him into TNA.

    My 24 Reviews

Since I used an episode guide, I decided that I will change the way I write reviews on the show. I will use the episode guide paragraph by paragraph and then after each paragraph, I will put my own views on the things that happened.

    T in the Park 2004

David Bowie has been confirmed for T 2004, with Muse expected to be added as well. Should be AWESOME if the headliner is anything to go by, and Muse isn't a bad thing either. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at £70 which is pretty good.

    Coldplay @ T in the Park 2003

I am doing this because I don't think that the new DVD caught the experience of Coldplay properly. Coldplay are dismissed as a boring and dismal band when in actual fact, their live show is very exciting. They opened with the thumping 'Politik'. Probably will become one of the most underappreciated songs in the Coldplay catalogue because of the singles they brought out. It builds to some awesome choruses before finishing with one of the best song endings I have ever heard. It's the perfect gig opener, because it's lively and gets people in the mood. 'God Put a Smile Upon My Face' was next. Very good live because of the amazing light show. The song itself is quite amazing but add the stage show and you double the fun. Once again the song builds slowly to it's exciting conclusion. The ending lyrics were 'God Gave Me Light And Gave Me Dark, And Gave Me Tickets To T in The Park'. Cheesy, but it works. 'A Rush of Blood To The Head' is the first of a couple of tracks from the latest album just thrown in there to make up time, which is actually bad, considering they never even played 'Shiver' which is a song people would have wanted to hear. 'Daylight' was another song which was disappointing live. 'Trouble' was next and caused one of the biggest singalongs ( if not THE biggest singalong of the weekend ) and was the first REALLY great moment of their set. It's a beautiful song. Can't remember the exact list of songs after that but 'One I Love' was in there somewhere. As was 'Don't Panic' and the really cool 'Everything's Not Lost'. All of these songs are GREAT live songs, especially 'One I Love' which is REALLY bouncy. The last two songs on the main set were 'Yellow' and 'The Scientist'. The big yellow lights shining out during 'Yellow' was amazing and this song is totally amazing as well, with EVERYONE jumping for it. 'The Scientist' didn't need any lights or lasers to make it great though, with the song just being awesome on it's own. We came out with an encore of 'Clocks' which got a huge response as expected. They used lasers in this one. The music in this one and Chris Martin's voice is actually better than it was the whole night, as this song seemed to be PERFECT and was the best song on the set. 'In My Place' was next, and Chris Martin climbed the lighting structure. The song itself was great, with the crowd getting quite involved. 'Amsterdam' was the final song before their cover which was 'Lips Like Sugar' peformed with Echo and the Bunnymen star Ian McCulloch. I left during this song. Overall, Coldplay are the real deal live.

    My thoughts on TNA

Russo didn't want it too. Because Micheal Shane as X Champion is a GREAT idea. OK, I admit I think he's a good wrestler, but he doesnt fit the high impact image of the X Division. Shane does get a lot of unfair stick I reckon, but I still think he's a bad X Champion. The fans knew about MVP, was he over ? Eddie's push disintigrated when Russo showed up in 2000, so don't say that he got pushed. I'll credit Russo for Benoit and Booker though. He was put into a shitty fued with Justin Credible, with 3 minute matches untill getting put into a 12 minute Last Man Standing match which wasn't long enough. Four minute matches don't help either. He DID get a match with AJ Styles, but it was really played out as an easy Styles win, and Lynn was made to look weak. Russo buries who he wants to bury. AJ Styles was already SUPER over when Russo came in. Reason for that was he is the best wrestler in TNA and NOT the best talker. Why do you watch wrestling ? For talking ?

    24 Season Two Episode Two

Due to my sister being a bitch and deleting the review I was working on for a good two hours, I have decided to copy and paste a sypnosis done on this site. http://www.24fans.com/24fans/index.html 9:00 A.M. Lynne Kresge updates the President in the O.C. that the CIA is proceeding on its potential response to a nuclear threat. Palmer, however, wants assurances that they will not leak the information because he fears mass hysteria. Meanwhile, at the industrial complex, Marko and his crew load the completed bomb into a van. At the Matheson home, Gary finishes his call in Kim’s room. Kim motions to the still-crying Megan, and the girls make a break for it while Gary is on the phone. As they run down the stairs, Carla hands Kim her car keys and tells her to take Megan away. Kim loads Megan into the Carla’s car and pulls out. Although Gary threatens Kim, she escapes. Gary then phones his security company to track the location of his vehicle. 9:05 A.M. Jack is transported by helicopter to a waiting car. Michelle briefs him en route with photos of Joseph Wald’s crew, and Jack recognizes one of the guys as Eddie Grant, a guy that he befriended while undercover. Jack orders that no other agents get near his operation. The press begin to suspect something because the President cut short his fishing trip. Although Eric Rayburn doesn’t agree, Palmer wants to deal with the media immediately. As the helicopter touches down, Jack checks in with Mason about Kim. When Agent Grothy went to pick her up, she was gone. Jack calls Kim’s cell phone, but he doesn’t realize that her phone is still sitting in the Matheson house. He leaves a message warning her to leave Los Angeles. At CTU, Tony assures the frightened Paula that the nuclear bomb may only be a false alarm. When Mason learns that forged Middle Eastern passports found in a car crossing the border match those of the suspects, he sends the closest agent to investigate. Unfortunately, that agent is Grothy, who is waiting for Kim at the Matheson’s. 9:09 A.M. Jack goes into a salvage garage and asks for Joe Wald. He is met by Eddie Grant. Eddie knows him as Jack Roush. Eddie accuses Jack of putting Joe in jail, but Jack tries to square himself and tells Eddie that he has news about Marshall Goren turning state’s evidence to convict Joe. Jack gives Eddie his bag, and Goren’s decapitated head rolls out. “I don’t think you gotta worry about Goren testifying anymore,” Jack says. Eddie smiles, and brings Jack into the back room. 9:16 A.M. Palmer conducts an informal press briefing outside his residential retreat. He brushes off their questions about his shortened fishing trip with a joke. Press Secretary Jenny Dodge lets the President know that a reporter named Ron Wieland still suspects something is wrong. 9:17 A.M. Kim drives Megan toward a police station, but they are detoured by a construction crew. She heads down an alley, but is cut off at the end by Gary’s car. A truck behind her has blocked her in. She tries to lock the doors, but Gary unlocks them with his own key. Kim and Megan get out of the car and make a run for it. They hide behind a dumpster as Gary calls out for Megan. 9:20 A.M. At the garage, Eddie brings Jack to see Dave, who is suspicious of Jack’s showing up on the day of an important job. Jack tells them that he just served five years for Joe, and he wants to see him. As Dave checks out Jack’s record online, Paula sees them making the trace on her computer screen at CTU. Yet Michelle and Tony have yet to download Jack’s information, and Paula scrambles to fill something in. When no record of a prison release shows up, Eddie pulls out his gun ready to kill Jack. Suddenly, after Paula makes the file transfers, Jack’s record pops up on Dave’s screen. 9:28 A.M. Rayburn tries again to persuade the President to come up with a military plan of action in case of a nuclear detonation. Lynne comes in to tell Palmer that Wieland heard a rumor that the Alert Condition has been changed due to a threatening situation. Wieland is going live with a report at noon. Palmer has her secretly set up a private interview with Wieland. He also orders her to bring in Richard Armus. Lynne shudders at the name. 9:31 A.M. As Dave works with some kind of explosive, Jack asks again to see Joe. Eddie says that Joe is busy and to come back tomorrow. They have something going on today. Jack gets in his car and calls Mason to warn him about what he has found. Fearing he has no other choice, Jack floods his car so that it won’t start. He gets out to open up the hood, and watches the crew pack duffel bags into a van. 9:33 A.M. Back at CTU, Mason checks a confidential report that says the probability of attack is about 89-93%. He quietly packs his briefcase and heads out. Tony stops him, and Mason says that he is going to follow up a lead in Bakersfield. Tony questions his motives as merely trying to get outside the blast range. 9:40 A.M. As they hide in an alley, Megan complains that her head hurts from when her dad pushed her. She doesn’t want to follow Kim to go make a phone call. She promises that she will hide behind some boxes to wait for Kim. 9:41 A.M. Kate Warner calls her private investigator Ralph Burton to tell him that she could not ascertain Reza’s wallet. Burton asks her to look for Reza’s passport to find out what countries have been stamped. While Reza tends to wedding detials, Kate runs out to his car and finds the passport in the glove compartment. As she quickly writes down the entries, Reza approaches. Kate tells him that the workers needed the space and she was looking for the key. Reza offers to move the car himself. 9:45 A.M. Dave gives Jack a hard time when his car won’t start. Jack makes a comment to Eddie about Dave being an amateur because he tied the fuses too tight. Dave lunges at Jack, and Jack breaks Dave’s ankle. 9:50 A.M. Kim finds a nearby payphone and dials 911, but Gary surprises her. He tries to appeal to Kim that he did not mean to hurt Carla and only wants to apologize to Megan. When Gary gets forceful with Kim, she knees him in the groin and runs off. Gary catches her and they fight. Kim swats him with a tire iron and he falls down. Kate calls Burton and lists the stamped entries in Reza’a passport. Burton is going to track Reza’s travel against those of the terrorist Syed Ali to see if there is a connection. Marie interrupts Kate’s phone call to thank her for her help with the wedding. The sisters embrace. 9:54 A.M. Palmer has a sit down meeting with the reporter. Wieland knows that the Alert Condition has been changed and is ready to report his story. Palmer says his information is wrong. Knowing that no journalist can get a private interview with the President on a few minutes notice, Wieland suspects that his assumptions are indeed correct. Palmer asks for a favor to sit on the story, and Wieland says he will think about it. When the reporter leaves, the President makes a call to Armus. “I think we’re going to have to go ahead and deal with this,” Palmer says. Armus, who is outside, stops Wieland as he leaves the retreat and introduces himself as part of the President’s Secret Service team. Armus drags Wieland away by the arm. 9:57 A.M. As Jack fiddles with his car, Eddie approaches him about working on this job. He is one man short since Dave is now incapacitated. Kim returns to the boxes where she hid Megan, but the little girl is gone. Kim calls out, and runs down the street to look for her. 9:59 A.M. Jack rides in the van with Eddie and his crew, and asks about the job they are pulling. Eddie tells him that they are bringing down the CTU offices in Los Angeles. MY Thoughts : It seems as if something is gonna happen to Megan at one point as she seems to be suffering from pretty bad headaches. Also, I don't think Gary has Megan, I think this is just something to worry people. As for the bomb, I have NO idea if this thing is gonna go off or not. Good episode though to keep me wanting more.

    My thoughts on TNA

Mideon was NOT over. The Ministry as a WHOLE was over and it wasn't for any other reason than The Undertaker. Then again, you DO make my point. Mideon isn't a lightweight, so he is made to look better than the guys that CAN wrestle. Jerry Lynn was WAY over with the crowd in the first few weeks. Why ? NOT cause he was good on the mic. NOT cause he was a big guy, but because he was a great wrestler, and the fans liked him because of it. Defend Russo all you want, but he doesn't like lightweight wrestlers, and Jerry Lynn's blandness was directly involved with the fact that Russo was booking.
  20. Jack_Bauer

    Well, this is a first...

Hey here's a thought ! WWE is actually doing something THOUGHTFUL ! But rather than credit McMahon for doing this, lets look at all of the negatives. Well done to Vince for at least giving enough of a shit to actually send all of his Smackdown guys to Iraq. Do you have to be reminded it's fucking IRAQ they're going to ?!?!?!
  21. Jack_Bauer

    My thoughts on TNA

To be honest I don't WANT an excuse for bigger guys to be on the show. OK, so their big, what else do they have that I wanna see ? They're not too great in the ring. It's not a Strong Man Show. It's a WRESTLING show. Do ya wanna know WHY people like them ? Because they can WRESTLE. Not like the security. This is where Russo wen't wrong. He made the good wrestlers look bland so as the guys he put on top looked better by comparison. It's silly that the wrestling skills of these people should be ignored because you think they are 'vanilla' What major tag teams do you refer to. And I would rather watch the SATs than some green security people. They ARE slow though but I've never seem em on the mic. The one thing I totally agree on. No point in a sudden ( oh, lets split them ). They've been a team for a while so they should have a sort of slow build and then a break. If they get lucky, they could produce two MAJOR stars.
  22. Jack_Bauer

Um can someone catch me up here?

Thing is it HAS improved in the last 3-4 weeks. Not much in the ring but the fact that they have actually planned stuff better is a sign of improvement. I can't see that lasting much longer though.
  23. Jack_Bauer

    T in the Park 2004

The Darkness have been confirmed as the Sunday night headline band at T in the Park. As for the Glastonbury comment, I enjoyed T in the Park more than the other festivals that I went to ( including Glasto ). It has a different atmosphere and is just amazing. I think Coldplay's set helped as well.
  24. Jack_Bauer

One thing I miss about Russo...

I thought Vince Russo's stuff was better that what we get on RAW these days.
  25. Jack_Bauer

Um can someone catch me up here?

I think that RAW was really good this week, with a couple of good matches in there.
