With all those matches and so little time, the WWE might be forced to have a TV show that's actually focused almost entirely on wrestling rather than superfluous bullshit, that should be nice for a change. Though i suppose it's more likely every match will get zero time in order to fit in the usual bunch of sub-standard interviews and backstage segments instead.

Having seen up to Manhattan Mayhem, Samoa Joe vs Jay Lethal stands out as the best match i've seen out of ROH 2005 so far. Rave/Punk from one of the 3rd Anniversary shows would probably be runner-up, so given my enjoyment of that match and my tastes in wrestling i'm quite sure Rave/Punk in the cage will top my list whenever i get around to seeing it.

With Garcia going down it looks like Joey Harrington's job is safe for one more year at least, whether he finally has a breakthrough season or not.

Texas pitching: so inept it can't even hold a 4 run lead in the bottom of the 9th against the damn Royals. Not that it matters much at this point, but when you have an offence on track to hit the most Home Runs ever and still can't manage to win even half the time, something really needs to be done. Their current strategy of 'do nothing and hope for the best' doesn't seem to be working very well.

How many times has Nick Van Exel 'retired' and kept coming back, it seems like he's done it every offseason for a while now.

NJPW G1 Climax v AJPW Champion Carnival
Cuban Linx replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
I'm a big fan of the 1995 Champions Carnival, it was my first taste of AJPW and being the shameless Taue mark that i am it's great to watch his performance throughout the tournament. Numerous great matches, both Kawada/Taue and the Misawa/Taue finals are among my very favorites, and i'm still yet to see the Kawada/Kobashi 30 minute draw, which is supposed to be their second best match behind the 6/12/98 TC match and close to the best from the 95 CC. -
Will The Pepsi Plunge Be Seen On WWE TV?
Cuban Linx replied to daileyxplanet's topic in The WWE Folder
Punk barely even used the move for most of his final year on the Indies, the chances of him putting it to use in the WWE are less than zero. -
If ROH wanted to use Milano Collection AT they already could have had a chance, he was wrestling in the US a while ago (in Texas if i remember correctly) so i'm surprised they didn't bring him in for a show then. Double C is a great addition to ROH's roster, but they should really promote from within as well as bringing in new guys. Matt Sydal has been ready to be in full time for a long time now, hopefully joining Generation next is a sign he's going to be used alot more now. Delirious too needs to be moved up the card and put on every show he's available for. Reportedly he's been just about the most over guy on some recent ROH shows he was on, he can do great comedy but has also gotten really damn good in the ring over recent months, he's a highlight on every indy show he does these days, Delirious is really a guy that could be doing alot more for ROH than just appearing in undercard comedy matches on midwest doubleshots. Not to mention Bryan Danielson's return is just on the horizon as well, American Dragon will take away alot of the pain of losing Gibson, Spanky & Punk. Actually it was MilanITO Collection AT that wrestled for CHIKARA a while back, though the real Milano IS going to wrestle for CHIKARA on upcoming shows so hopefully ROH will being him in for a show or two then.

Yeah, i'm the guy who didn't take any Running Backs until the 4th and 6th rounds with Carnell Williams & Michael Bennett. I'm hoping the Peyton Manning/Reggie Wayne duo connect for enough TD's to make up for it, though considering how late i took them Cadillac/Bennett/Ricky Williams/Thomas Jones isn't too bad, but i definately pushed my luck and it could just as easily be a disaster as a success. Here's hoping Benson keeps holding out for Chicago and gives Jones the starting job. I probably should have taken Chad Johnson over Torry Holt and not dicked around and waited until everyone was gone until i picked my 3rd WR (and considering 2/3 of my WR's have the same bye week i'll be screwed then), but overall i don't think i did too bad. QB is strong of course with Manning and a good backup in Carr, Holt/Wayne/Price is a solid WR crop and potentially very good if Price actually performs, though i doubt it and i have zero depth, TE is set with Witten, New England gives me an top Defence, RB will hopefully be good enough though i lack an elite player, things could be worse.

Michael Jordan would have been hard-pressed to take those Grizzlies and Hawks teams SAR was stuck on to the playoffs, i wouldn't hold being surrounded with utter shit his whole career against Shareef.
-
God damn Javier Vasquez single-handedly costs me an 8-0 victory, forcing me to settle for a 6-2 win because of his 9 runs in 2 innings shitfest. Felix Hernandez gives my crappy pitching hope though, he's a keeper for as long as this league lasts.

Forget the custody papers, Dominic should be suspended over the ring in a cage Jim Cornette-style. -

CZW & Chikara Double-Header THIS SATURDAY
Cuban Linx replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
When (and why) exactly did Zandig get added to the NRBW match? I was really looking forward to another H8 Club/Necro-Klein violent spectacle, but Zandig being in there drags it down a lot for me. I had gotten used to no Zandig clogging up the main events the past year or so. Still, both shows look pretty good, particularly CHIKARA, though i'm so ridiculously behind on CHIKARA that by the time i catch up it'll be 2006 by the time i ever see it. -
Which Puroresu star is YOUR character?

Jun Akiyama, same as i get every other time i've done this test. -
Somehow i don't quite think Mark Madsen and Damien Wilkins are the sort of players to be signing long-term to surround Kevin Garnett and make another run at the NBA Title. I probably would have tried to sign, you know, useful players, but i guess that's why i'm not an NBA GM. Rick Brunson signing with Seattle gives him 7 different teams in 7 season, i guess he wants to make a run at the Chucky Brown/Tony Massenburg record of 12 teams over a career.

It's fairly apparant at this point that last years keeper league is never going to get off the ground, creating a fresh league is probably the best way to go if anything is ever going to happen here. Somewhere from 12-16 teams is probably the ideal amount of teams, though there'd probably be enough demand to do however many teams Yahoo allows. Whatever happens i'm in as always.

These days the tag division is pretty much just a lazy device to have 2 guys feud without the creative team putting in any effort at all. RVD/Kane, Eddy/Rey, Benoit/Edge, Benoit/Rhyno, a bunch of other teams i didn't care enough to remember/notice, basically every WWE team seems to be formed for no other reason than for them to eventually break up and feud. MNM seems to be the first 'actual' team in a long time, as long as this trend continues i don't see the tag division improving any time soon.

Anaheim lose to Tampa Bay, giving the Oakland Athletics a share of the AL West division lead. If Oakland didn't start the season playing like a 100-loss team, they'd probably be running away with the division and well on their way to being a 100-win team at this point.
