My team seems to have slipped into an alternate universe where i actually have good pitching and my offence blows for a change. Traded away Jason Bay, Scott Rolen is breaking down and everyone else isn't doing much, but Burnett, El Duque, Vasquez and Mark Redman all just give up 2 runs in between 6 and 8 innings. Of course the remaining pitcher is Jeff Weaver, who could as easily throw a complete game shutout as get torched for 10 runs in the first inning, but so far i look like a safe bet to win most pitching categories, except saves as Percival is out and the Seattle Mariners suck dick. And thankfully Bengie Molina looks set to return, hopefully solving my blackhole of production at the catcher position. I'll also probably throw out a few trade offers soon, as i'd like to get one more pretty good pitcher to round out my new and improved rotation, maybe a decent outfielder too.

Once again a player goes on the DL for me just after the weekly rosters lock. First Benson, then Molina, now it looks like Troy Percival is out for over a month and leaves me a position down, though at least it's only relief pitching, not a starter with the minimum innings pitched limit.

Amazing, i actually won a matchup and climb out of last place. My offense does what it was designed to, and now that i have a very good pitcher in AJ Burnett maybe i can actually start to win a few pitching stats other than Saves as well.

Miami Heat vs Washington Wizards Heat in 5, 6 at the most. I like the Wizards but i don't see them really pushing Miami to the limit here, if Arenas and Hughes catch fire they can take a game or two but i doubt they can contain Shaq over a 7 game series. Detroit Pistons vs Indiana Pacers Detroit in 5, 6 at the most. Pistons were going to win here whether it was the Pacers or Celtics, at least facing Indiana gives the series a little bit of interest. If this is his final series fittingly Reggie Miller should hit a buzzer-beating 3 to win one game, but Detroit will win the series and give us the Eastern Conference finals matchup practically everyone called before the season even started. I also predict at least one bomb threat. Phoenix Suns vs Dallas Mavericks Phoenix in 5, 6 at the most. This is the dream series for anyone that likes high-scoring games, but Phoenix is the better offensive machine, after cruising past Memphis and Fallas going the distance with Houston the Suns will have more in the tank for this. Phoenix wins as both teams likely push 120 points every game. San Antonio Spurs vs Seattle Supersonics San Antonio in 5, 6 at the most. Actually i could see this going 7 if Seattle play against the Spurs like they did at the start of the regular season, but the playoffs are a different story, Seattle take a game or two but Duncan and friends pull it out in the end and give is the Western Conference finals matchup no one but maybe Suns fans predicted before the start of the season.

Alfonso Soriano certainly looks be to adjusting to life as a #5 hitter, four homeruns in two games to tie the Major League lead with 10 for the season.

4/5 of my starting pitching performs well, which would usually put me in good position to win a few categories. Unfortunately that 5th pitcher is Pedro Astacio, who puts up a fucking 94.50 ERA and 10.50 WHIP and delivers a shotgun blast to the head of any chance i had in this matchup. Both numbers would have to be close to the highest non-infinite numbers i've seen. I'm barely holding onto a 2-8 scoreline and look to be entrenching myself in last place, after coming close to winning this league last year i feel like the New York Yankees here.

Hopefully they can start getting Highand-level crowds in at least one of their other towns, having only crowds of 70-100 or so can't be good for their already tight finances. Unless they get another building in town i guess the Chris Hero Highland losing streak will last forever now.

One comes to mind from a match i recently watched, Stan Hansen vs Kenta Kobashi from 4/16/93, Kobashi dives off the second turnbuckle and is just KILLED by the Western Lariat in mid-air. Awesome, even by Stan Hansen Lariat standards.

This years tourney really has the potential to be damn good, with no more three-ways and possibly the best field CZW has put together for a BOTB to date, CZW always lifts for it's big shows and if that's the case here then we should be looking at one hell of a show. EDIT: Excalibur vs El Generico is #5.

I fully expected Bobby Simmons to win Most Improved, though i had hoped Joel Przybilla might get the nod. Still, Simmons came from nowhere to become a damn fine player so it's deserved, and i guess it's about time the Clippers actually won something.
