Jack Evans Injured at Pro Wrestling War show
Cuban Linx replied to DangerousDamon's topic in General Wrestling
Jack damn near killes himself at COD, probably concusses himself on a 630, at the rate he's going at and with the things he does it's seemingly a matter of not if but when Jack seriously injures himself, he's gotten off lucky a hell of a lot of times and as much as i'd hate for it to happen his luck can't last forever. -
High School basketball game ends in 5-2 score
Cuban Linx replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Sports
It was still probably more exciting than a WNBA game. -
Stoudamire and Van Exel combine for 77 points, while the starting front court combines for 10. Figures, when they had Randolph, Abdur-Rahim and Miles their guards were awful, and as soon as they get good Portland are stuck starting Ruben Patterson, James Thomas (who?) and Joel Przybilla. I guess the Blazers banning Popcorn was a good move if Stoudamire and Van Exel are going to play like that. And all of a sudden the Hornets have won 3 out of 4, playoffs here they come!

I haven't watched anything close to a full WWE show in months, and it's a trend i don't see changing though i still watch a fair bit of indy stuff.

Yao has about the most awkward 19 points and 8 rebounds you'll find. That every now and then he'll have an awesome game that shows how good he can/could/should be just makes the usual standard of play he regresses to even more annoying.

8th Anniversary Show, 10/23/04 in Highland. EDIT: Beaten to it.

We've already has Damon Stoudamire trying to smuggle weed through an airport, now they'll be trying to sneak in popcorn instead.

The last i've heard of him he was working for NOAH in Japan as Trevor Rhodes, from a quick glance at some results he was on the October 24th show for NOAH last, i don't know what (if anything) he's been doing since then.

Has there ever been a division winner with a losing record before? This years Atlantic division could certainly pull it off, at least one of NY, Philly and Boston should probably get their act together but they go from looking gold one game to looking like total shit the next so much all three of them failing to reach 42 wins wouldn't surprise me too much.

Being from Australia i don't have any geographic ties to teams, so my favorites are pretty much just random teams i've liked and then stuck with. NFL- Tennessee Titans. 1999 was the first year i really followed the NFL start to finish, early in the season the Titans caught my eye with guys like McNair and Eddie George and they've been my favorite team since. MLB- Texas Rangers. Beyond paying a little attention to the playoffs and world series in past years last season was the first i really started following baseball, by chance the Rangers were in alot of the early games i watched so i decided to stick with them, with good timing as i miss the last few seasons of suck and get on board just as things are looking up. NBA- Portland Trailblazers. After losing interest a bit in the late 90's i got back into the NBA around 2000, for some reason i can't remember Portland bacame the team i liked and it's stayed that way through all the whining, bitching, in-fighting, arrests, pot smoking, game 7 4th quarter collapses, trading Jermaine O'Neal for Dale Davis, repeated playoff losses to the Lakers, the period where they seemed to collect every misfit asshole in the league and missing the playoffs for the first time in 20+ years, if i can survive all that in the space of about three seasons there isn't much else they could do that would turn me away.

Damn, one of my hopes out of the season was to see the Hornets set a new standard for ineptitude and go even worse than Philadelphia's 8 win season, with those two wins they now have to go something like 3-46 over the rest of the season to pull it off, and unfortunately as bad as they are i don't think even the Hornets are that bad.

Looks like we might finally see a climax in the Chris Hero Highland losing streak, losing to Trik Davis is about the bottom of the barrel, if Chris Hero finally snapping doesn't happen here it might never happen.

Match review: Jimmy Jacobs vs. Brandon Thomaselli
Cuban Linx replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Nice review, i've been looking forward to this and the other Jacobs/Thomaselli matches so it's good to hear it's as good as i expected, i should be getting this show and the others in the next couple of weeks. IWA has always been good at making stars out of lesser known guys, Punk/Cabana/Hero, Whitmer too i guess in 2000 & 2001, Nate Webb in '02, Danny Daniels/Shelley/Jacobs & probably McGuinness in '03, Sydal/Delirious/Cannon in late '03/'04 all come to mind over the last few years, and they look to be doing a great job again with Brandon, especially important since without the big name indy guys theyll have to rely on their own guys to carry the shows. -
I tend to forget the main site even exists most of the time, Al's baseball stuff is pretty much the only thing i'll look at regularly unless something interesting catches my eye, which doesn't happen very often.

The way the Timberwolves are looking lately the Lakers shouldn't have any problems with them, unless it's one of the seemingly random games Cassell, Spreewell and friends decide to pull their head out of their ass for.
-
Ditto. Though for my own amusement i'd like to see the Vikings and Rams win to get an all 8-8 conference title game.
-
Four interceptions, and that's not even counting the pick earlier that was ruled an incompletion. The Packers are going to have to win this in spite of Favre the way things are looking right now.
-
For one series at least it looks like the Vikings have come to play today, hopefully a sign of things to come.

The NFL has 32 teams, with the regular season going for 17 weeks (every team plays 16 games + 1 bye week).

While i appreciate it on an aesthetic level surely there's easier ways to to kill yourself than via chainsaw. People die all the time, so dying on purpose shouldn't be the most taxing of problems, let alone something requiring 3+ attempts to pull off.

You never know when three-year old topics on how to write for the "new" site are going to come in handy.
