A first round playoff bye secured in the Head-to-Head, not to shabby for a guy who before this started didn't know probably over 95% of the players, let alone how to build a decent Fantasy Baseball team out of them.

With all the upcoming big events for IWA:MS and ROH i had nearly forgotten about the PWG show. From the sounds of things it's another great indy show in a year of great shows, i'm especially glad to see that it looks like Super Dragon/Samoa Joe will be a full-on feud judging from the title match interference, more Dragon/Joe goodness makes the world a happy place.

IWA to Make "Biggest Announcement Ever" At TPI

Texas get shut out for the second day in a row, it's all but over for them now. With both Boston and Oakland racking up wins left and right even if Blalock, Young, Soriano and Teixeira get hot simultaneously i doubt it'll be enough to make up 6-7 games at this point.

How about a Mega Fantasy "Competition"?

Why not, if this gets off the ground I'd be up for this too. -
Man, those divisions are even shittier than i remember them being. The only thing that might stop Miami from winning their division is the entire city being blown away by a Hurricane, and even then the other teams combined suck would find a way for none of them to end up winning the division. Forget Shaq, they could have traded away Butler and Odom for the lovechild of Shawn Bradley and Manute Bol and still sleepwalked their way into the playoffs.

With Yao and Dikembe looking to be together in Houston the Rockets will certainly be able to put up quite the wall in front of the basket. Mutombo's well beyond his better days but he'll be perfectly useful in a backup role, he'll only be required for short spells behind Yao to block some shots and pick up a few rebounds so it's a good trade for Houston, especially as they're only giving up a few jobbers in return.

The fans didn't come to watch them when they were actually good (or at least a reasonable facsimile of good), now that their best player wants out and the team will be getting hammered out West all season i don't exactly see the fans flooding in.

The Rangers get swept in their three games series with the Twins, finishing in grand fashion by getting shutout. Texas are now a season high 5 1/2 games back both in the division and for the wildcard, and i doubt travelling to Fenway will be much of a cure for their current woes, unless they can get hot again and soon the Athletics look to be pulling away towards another division crown. They still have 7 games against the A's so there's still a slight glimmer of hope they can claw their way back if they can win the vast majority of those and start beating everyone else again, though with their current level of play that's not looking very likely.

Alex Shelley vs Bryan Danielson has been a dream match of mine for a long time, and now i'll get to see it not once but twice with the IWA and ROH matches. Punk/Aries, Ultimate Endurance and Doug/Joe should all be excellent as well, ROH has been putting out some fantastic shows since April and this one doesn't look like it'll break that streak.

On the Blazers latest activity i like the resigning of Darius Miles, after getting out of Cleveland he looked to be finally realising his potential with several very good performances in the latter part of the season with most noticably a great FG%, which he can hopefully keep building on over a full season in Portland and become a big part of them returning to the playoffs, hopefully sooner rather than later. As for the Milwaukee trade, aside from then giving Portland an excess of guards i'm leaning towards hoping it goes through. I like Randolph, but his monster numbers of early last season started to drop once Rasheed was gone and opposing teams started cracking down on him more, not to mention he's cut from the same mould as Rasheed, Bonzi, Stoudamire and friends and looks to be as much a trouble-magnet as they were. Having an all-star calibre power forward sitting on the bench also serves to make him a tad expendable. Michael Redd would give them one of the premiere outside shooters in the game and an upgrade over all of their army of guards, a lineup consisting of Stoudamire, Redd, Miles, Abdur-Rahim and Ratliff sounds pretty good to me. That said it would leave them with little in the way of forward depth, so they would need to start trading away some guys like Van Exel since after Stoudamire and Redd few would get very much in the way of playing time, which is something guys like Woods and Telfair will need. I'd also say Randolph is better overall than Abdur-Rahim (and Randolph should really continue to get better), so i really wouldn't mind the team they'll put on the court with either Randolph or Redd in town, since Derek Anderson, while not as good as Michael Redd is no slouch either.

Figures that the one draft i have to miss at the last minute i end up with the 1st overall pick. I guess i'll just have to make up for missing the draft by beating you all in the season proper.

American Dragon added to next 4 IWA-MS shows
Cuban Linx replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
As if the TPI quadruple-shot weekend couldn't get any better, they go and add Bryan F'n Danielson to the thing. Danielson vs Styles, Danielson vs Shelley, Danielson vs Hero 2/3 Falls and whatever other match(es) he'll have on TPI night two, it really just doesn't get much better than that. Damn my living in crappy fantastic-wrestling devoid Australia, the second all these shows are available they'll be mine. If IWA:MS wasn't already my favourite wrestling fed they would be now. -

Out of all the leagues i'm in i've been stuck drafting around the 8th or 9th position, it figures the one draft i can't make live i wind up with the 1st overall pick. Not too bad for a Yahoo auto-draft that i barely bothered to pre-rank, far better than my usual disasters when leaving the autodraft to pick for me in the past. QB- Marc Bulger WR- Hines Ward WR- Andre Johnson WR- Amani Toomer RB- LaDainian Tomlinson RB- Travis Henry TE- Todd Heap K- Jason Elam DEF- Kansas City Bench- Tiki Barber Bench- Marty Booker Bench- Jerry Rice Bench- Dallas Clark Bench- Joey Harrington Bench- Buffalo

Two of my teams are already listed there (in the COSG.Net league and Cheapskates in the Auction league), here's my other two Yahoo teams: QB- Brad Johnson WR- Derrick Mason WR- Peerless Price RB- Edgerrin James RB- Corey Dillon TE- Desmond Clark WR/TE- Plaxico Burress K- Aaron Elling DEF- Tennessee Bench- TJ Duckett Bench- Tommy Maddox Bench- Rashuan Woods Bench- William Green QB- Steve McNair WR- Chad Johnson WR- Joe Horn WR- Laverneous Coles RB- Edgerrin James RB- Fred Taylor TE- Randy McMichael K- Ryan Longwell DEF- Seattle Bench- Aaron Brooks Bench- Rudi Johnson Bench- Justin McCareins Bench- Ashley Lelie Bench- Larry Fitzgerald Bench- Duce Staley I seem to always end up with alot of the same players in all my teams, most notably Rudi Johnson in three out of my four teams, so hopefully he has a great year.

I remember a Smackdown show sometime in the last year where covering Velocity and the main show they had something like four or five roll-up finishes to matches in just the one night, there's other ways to do a cheap fluke-type finish besides the roll-up but i guess the people coming up with match endings can't be bothered to be the least bit creative.
