I've been reading Inuyasha manga and I just bought three DBZ movies (they were on sale) and Grave of The Fireflies (really sad, but powerful movie).
-
They are hip hop/soul singers, not bubbly headed ditz queens.

So... why is this folder so dead again?
-
South Park's "Christmas Time in Hell" Phantom Planet's "Winter Wonderland" Those are the only two I really like.
-
I work at Best Buy and we've only sold a handful of those "Four Flicks" dvds. No one is really anxious to own it.
-
Vanessa Carlton > everyone on the above list. Hillary Duff was my pick as she doesn't disgust me. In fact, I sort of like her (dont' tell anyone ).
-
Out of the most recent lists, this one was the least offensive to me. Pearl Jam got some respect, which is a rare thing these days. I don't agree with Linkin Park over Radiohead either, but I have a feeling that a few years down the road we'll still see Radiohead on these lists while Linkin Park will have become a punchline.

I don't think I saw any great matches that didn't go unacclaimed this year. I think Big Show/Undertaker at No Way Out was really underrated, it was a good match. I also happened to see a very solid Bill DeMott/A-Train match at a Velocity taping that I attended. It went on to be my favorite match of the night (the following Smackdown didn't have anything spectacular) and it was surprisingly good considering who was involved.

People had better taste ten years ago. Pearl Jam was on top back then Now in 2003, Pearl Jam isn't exactly on top, but their new "Lost Dogs" cd has sold pretty well at my Best Buy.
-
Yes. I would not mind seeing these faces showing up as guests, not as in ring performers (unless we have another gimmick battle royal, I enjoyed it the first time). It would not hurt to have Bret Hart give a farewell speech or have Ricky Steamboat be the special ref for a title match.

Backlund/Inoki, Hogan/Flair @ MSG, Taker defends
SamoaRowe replied to cawthon777's topic in The WWE Folder
The Inoki/Backlund match sounds absolutely exciting. Any idea where one could find a copy of it? -
Ouch... it's actually a good cd as well... ... I think week 2 will go a lot better for Korn. Most people didn't even know it came out and I sold a lot of copies of it the past few days.

Goddamn it, that chart pisses me off.

I loved that movie when I was 14 years old. Now I just like it for my nostalgic kicks. Good stuff from an unclever movie.

Meh, if Best Buy didn't want Joe Blow Checker talking about their numbers, they wouldn't continuously pound the numbers into their heads every single day I can't remember any other retail job I had where management talked openly about the numbers with the low-end employees. Usually those numbers were hush-hush and for managers and bookkeepers only. Yeah, I've never been told not to discuss how well the store is doing. I don't really give specific numbers out, I just give a general "good" or "bad" for how things are going. I can say that when I left Sears, they were $100,000 in the hole.

Christ, while I was in line I had FOURE SEPARATE CSRs try to pimp some extended warranty on the DVD player I bought. There was also this chick with a reindeer antler "hat" pimping gift cards and two guys pimping that "rewards" card. When they came to my neck of the woods I flashed mine out and they kept walking -- I was the hero for the group around me because they were tired of getting hassled by these floating CSRs... That is the exact type of feedback most businesses should hear. It's okay and all to promote special things like that but it's no good shoving it down the customer's fucking throats. This goes double for Sears, who I used to work for. How many times did I hear customers bitching about how all the cashiers are forced to shove Sears Cards down their throats. I like Best Buy though, I'm not terribly upset about the magazine/Rhapsody/gift card thing because no one came after me about it. Until then, Best Buy is still my favorite place to work.

That makes a lot of sense. Pink is like every nice guy's fantasy that they won't admit to. And yes...Dido is absolutely adorable... and she's classy as well
-
Oh hell yeah! Seriously though, Pink has some real spunk. She's talented and she's not quite as image-conscious. I still think that out of all these "women" for some reason I'd rather do Dido.
-
It also helps that Pink has a personality. Britney just comes across as a dumb cheerleader who is focused only on impressing whoever might be in the room at that particular moment.
-
Good gawd... those pics just made Pink gain ten points of overness with me.
-
Sad but true. It is a crime that will always exist.
-
Sounds like what happened at Best Buy. I went back to browse around in the evening and nothing seemed unusual. I guess the registers were still going slow but everyone was happy with how the morning had gone. Today I found out that management was pissed off that we only made the efforts to sell a few occasional magazine subscriptions and Rhapsody discs though. Ah well, we were too fucking busy selling the stuff that people came in LOOKING for.
-
I like to think that people will one day remember Tori Amos over Pink, Avril, Britney, and even Christina combined.
-
That's my problem... I don't listen to soul/hip-hop/r+B....
-
Oh yeah, she'll still be in the public eye as she's got so big already. I just don't think she'll have a consistant musical career, that's all. On the other hand, I just feel and KNOW that Christina has the ability to be able to do so. Where do you see Pink being as time goes by? It sort of seems as if she might already be yesterday's news.
