Velocity is the best show says I. Is Joey Matthews going to be under contract with WWE or somethin? He seems to be on a lot now and actually gets in a good amount of offense. HE might be seeing as they hired Alexis Laree and they are a couple.

Methinks you have a good point. This is the scenario I'm hoping will play out. I remember seriously doubting Vengeance. I agree, I think most of us are going to be pleasantly surprised with tonight. Let's just hope the Raw influence doesn't affect No Mercy like we're afraid of. And to be honest, the WWE has done worse cards this year. I prefer this card over No Way Out, Backlash, Judgement Day, and Unforgiven.

I have severly mixed feelings about Linkin Park. I like them for all their good qualites but I'm annoyed by all of their bad ones as well. -Their songs DO follow a formula. Every time I'm about to hear a new Linkin Park song, I can pretty much sing along after the first verse because I know exactly how it's going to play out. -Unique little tune opens, heavy guitars blast, Shinido raps with a bit of Chester in the background or vice-versa, Chester sings his ass off for chorus, then another short verse, then the chorus, then Chester screams for a bridge, and then the chorus one last time only with extra emphasis. That's just about every Linkin Park song (or at least their singles).

Or just like how she must write herself into every major storyline on Smackdown? Or how the writing has been in the freaking toilet since she took over? Just how is she qualified to be a creative writer anyways...

Hehe, I understand what you're getting at. Zach will always hold a special place in my heart for making Vince bleed the way he did at Vengeance. It was fucking sick.

I could drive over to Hooters in Manchester to watch No Mercy for free, but I don't want to waste the gas. I don't belittle the product either. I love the WWE and I'm always hoping for things to turn around. I do occasionally join in on bashing a few shows, but that's because if I can't have fun doing that than I might as well stop watching wrestling.

Exactly. This isn't like Summerslam where the WWE writers had no fucking excuse to leave them off the show and to include La Resistance instead.

I think it's sort of funny how everyone hates Zach Gowen. I personally don't mind him, but the hatred that so many smarks display for him is amusing.

I think it's clear that WGTT is getting majorly depushed. That's what they get for putting on some of the best matches of the year, I guess. Well, isn't Shelton Benjamin still sort of injured? I hear he was doing dark matches and such. Maybe they don't think he's ready to go 15 minutes in a PPV match. Oh, any idea what the Heat match is going to be tonight? I'm guessing it will be A.P.A. vs The Bashams (unless it gets moved onto the PPV) but I think it would be great if we could have something like Spanky and Paul London vs WGTT (which would be an AWESOME tag title match someday).

But once again, the difference between the last Smackdown PPV and this one is listed here: [benoit v. Guerrero, Kidman/Rey v. WGTT, Angle v. Big Show v. Brock] v. [Rey v. Tajiri, Angle v. Cena, Benoit v. A-Train, Guerrero v. Big Show, Brock v. UT] Vengeance had 3 AWESOME matches that were almost guaranteed to be super, while this show has 2 matches that promise to be good and three that can be either/or. Jason All very true, but Vengeance also had Sable vs Stephanie and Vince vs Zach Gowen. At least on this PPV, the McMahons are confined to ONE match. Granted, the one match will probably be longer than both Vengeance matches combined but... I'm trying... damn.... Ah well, I love proving myself wrong. I guess my main point was that we shouldn't underestimate the talent of the Smackdown brand. They didn't have much going into Vengeance either so maybe we'll all be surprised and proclaiming "Best PPV in a long time" later tonight.

At the 2001 edition of Raw, three titles changed hands in three straight matches. Is it any wonder why I lost my faith in the WWE during that time.

How the hell did Nathan Jones get a victory? You don't mean WrestleMania? He was officially out of that match and it was Undertaker vs A-Train and Big Show so I don't think Nathan Jones deserves to count that as a victory.

I don't see the John Cena album being anything ground-breaking, but I don't see it being terrible either. Remember that he will be recording it in a studio, meaning that they will work to cover up his weaknesses. On a side note, I don't see why so many people have such a problem with John Cena's in ring work?!? I've yet to see him in a bad match (besides maybe a squash or two when he was new) and he put on a great match with Chris Jericho last summer.

Yeah, this show does sound a lot more promising than Unforgiven. I think the main reason a lot of people are so angry about this card because their last memory of WWE PPV was that atrocity about a month ago. We should remember what the last Smackdown only PPV was like and remember that the two before this one were both Raw dominated.

I was expecting this. That's my point. People in the ratings thread and throughout the past months here have been blaming buyrates on Angle/Brock when in fact, they aren't even the main eventers of the show. Jason That's an excellent point. I hear lots of folks discuss how the McMahons blame guys like Angle and Lesnar for low ratings when several smarks do as well.

I was never a huge Road Warriors fan, but their mere presence was enough to perk my interest. I'm just sad that the last match I ever saw them in as a team was against RVD and Kane on Raw months back.
