I guess you're right. It's just that it seems like we've been doing this "waiting game" for an awfully long time now. I'll admit that some things have improved. I almost gave up on wrestling last fall, Smackdown and TNA saved me at the last moment. It's just so depressing to love wrestling so much and to see it's current state. I remember back in 2000 i was thinking how great it was that the WWF was doing so well in everything. I never stopped to think that a time might come when things wouldn't be so good. I miss being a mark sometimes.

I'm getting a little sick of how everytime there is a womens match, half the people say "It sucked, they botched all their spots" while the other half go "It was the best part of the night." It's almost as if people are watching two different matches. Frankly, I tend to agree with the Best Part of Night argument half the time, the only really bad womens match I've seen in a long time was Shaniqua vs Dawn Marie.

I'm not comfortable saying that this is just a "waiting game." That is the sort of attitude that will have the WWE going "We can book whatever shit we want because our ratings will just magically get better once wrestling is hot again!" Well, what are they going to do to make wrestling hot again? So far they've tried HLA, nWo, Triple H in a Kane mask having sex with a dummy, Sable, Goldberg, and Roddy Piper. Sadly, the only thing that worked at all was Goldberg. Recently Raw has been hotter with marks due to the Kane storyline. At this point I'd encourage WWE to do more angles like that one just because I'm so desperate for people to be interested in wrestling again.

In all honesty, I've only seen Vic Grimes wrestle once (on an XPW show I bought) but he took the nastiest bump I've ever seen in any wrestling show. If Shane took the same bump, he'd be dead. I'm not saying Vic Grimes is the best worker out there, but he certainly has my respect for his guts.

WWE always makes sure that every stable they put out are masters of "the numbers game."
-
Whatever they do, I don't want to hear a stable called "The Magnificent Seven." This is partly because there actually was a WCW stable by that name near the end, and it included whoever WCW was trying to get over as a main event heel at that time (Jarrett, Road Warrior Animal, probably Steiner).
-
Yesh, don't worry so much about what the crowd is reacting to unless they are so out of it that it's ruining the show. I went to a WWE show once, and the crowd chanted BORING during two good matches (and one forgotten match that really should have been a MOTYC). Crowds are mostly stupid assholes who paid money just so they could go chant boring during a wrestling show. Ignore them whenever you can.

It took more guts for Vic Grimes to fall off a 40 foot scaffold onto a stack of tables. Only problem was he almost missed the tables and his legs bounced off the ropes. I'd like to see Shane do that.
-
I don't think so. I think that was just a case of WWE doing it in the hopes that the fans would be too stupid to catch on.
-
Now that you mention it, I do!

The Natural Born Thrillers were an awesome stable, partly because I like thinking about where they all are now. Sean O'Haire- Smackdown lower midcarder Chuck Palumbo- Smackdown lower midcarder Shawn Stasiak- WWE reject, works in Japan Reno- No clue what happened to him, just cruising the indies. Johnny Stamboli- Smackdown Lower midcarder Mark Jindrak- Raw lower midcarder, soon to be pushed? Mike Sanders- Occasional TNA star. What I remember most about that stable was that they were faceless to me at first, but they did a good job establishing themselves. Most of these guys looked like stars by the end of WCW. WWE then sent most of them to OVW, thus allowing everyone to forget they ever existed.
-
At the 2002 Heat, you wrote that D'Lo Brown pinned Stan Stasiak. I find it hard to believe that the former WWWF champion would even be in ring shape (or walking) in this day and age so I assume you mean Shawn "Planet" Stasiak

Guilty pleasures? 1) Test Why? Test vs Edge (Surivor Series 2001) Test vs Shane McMahon (Summerslam 1999) Test vs William Regal (early 2001) Test vs Eddie Guerrero (Wrestlemania X7) Test vs Undertaker (Summerslam 2002) 2) Triple H Why? Because I used to have such a mark hatred of him in the good old days. Now I find myself laughing at all the anti-Triple H stuff out there and it amuses me when he wins. 3) No Way Out 2003 Why? The PPV had a joke of a card, but it was a funny joke.

Veru insightful interview by Kevin Kelly
SamoaRowe replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
I really hope The Rundown is a smash hit. I'd be proud of The Rock. As far as what Kelly said, it makes sense. I also will forever hold a grudge against him now for suggesting the HHH/Stephanie union on television. That on air role lead to them being a couple off-air and now look what's happening. HHH is the potential future owner of WWE. -
Don't worry, it's nice to dream.
-
send Goldberg to Smackdown and cancel Raw, most likely. That wouldn't be too bad except for Goldberg being on Smackdown.
-
I'm working tonight and I don't feel like taking the trouble to set up a video to tape the show. The show is going to suck anyways, unless Rob Van Dam somehow upsets Goldberg
-
Goldberg reigns until Royal Rumble. He loses to Triple H who then faces Randy Orton at Wrestlemania.
-
WWE could easily hire dozens of independent workers who would do the exact same bumps Shane does, and would do even crazier ones.

Unforgiven Results and early match ratings...
SamoaRowe replied to Steviekick's topic in The WWE Folder
From what I saw: Kane/Shane: **3/4 Jericho vs RVD vs Christian: ** Announcers: 1/2 Goldberg vs HHH: ** -
I could be wrong, but I don't think RVD has won a PPV match since he beat Ric Flair last year at No Mercy.
-
Goldberg is working a house show that's coming to Manchester, NH. I only know this because I'm going to it and the main event is advertised to be Goldberg/RVD vs Triple H/Randy Orton. Other thoughts: WCW New Blood Rising, which I rented this week for shits and giggles, was a better PPV than this. Nice talking with you all, goodnight

Goldberg is the World Champion.... so why am I depressed?
-
Yeah.... Goldberg is winning this...

How many fans in this "sold out crowd" will come back after this show?
