Hey, maybe I should've seen this coming, but I didn't. The Forbidden Kingdom looked like the latest in a string of hokey looking action movies that wouldn't do big business, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall just felt like a hit, growing on the Knocked Up/Superbad momentum. If you predicted otherwise, good for you, but I don't think it was a foregone conclusion like you seemed to think it was.

I think the past few years have proven that "big names" don't open movies like they used to. Would you have guessed the success of Superbad or Knocked Up? Forgetting Sarah Marshall had that sort of buzz growing over it, so it seemed to be a good bet for a big opener, while The Forbidden Kingdom had squat. Besides, when does Jackie Chan ever get a big opening when he's not partnered up with some comic relief? This is a surprise.

Whatever. Marney's banning was completely overdue. The moderators deserve a certain level of respect and that PM she sent him would have been enough, at least to me. But if you miss her so much, there's always The Pit, right?

I just got home from the show and I had a blast. All around fun show, and you know something, I enjoyed all of the women's matches. That Kong/Saeed vs. Gail/OBD was a definite highlight. Lethal Lockdown was great and Angle/Joe ended up being what I hoped it would be (and I got to mark the fuck out for Joe's title win). I'd go on, but I'm tired and must get some sleep before work in the morning. Also picked up the Global Impact DVD from the merch table, which was icing on the cake.

Most comics are still 2.99, with the occasional 3.99 issue thrown in for whatever reasons. I like to think that 2.99 is ultimately the most I'm willing to pay for a comic book. If they increase to 3.99, I'm seriously going to have to drop a few titles.

There's this complete denial of the growing evidence of global warming and it's all based on this notion that it's some sort of "liberal hoax" to scare us into taking better care of the planet? Well, the first two SCOH's are two of my favorite ROH shows, so I suppose I can be optimistic.
