    TSM Town Hall: Elimination Chamber

    1. What was your favorite EC match? The original one from Survivor Series 2002. 2. What was your favorite spot from an EC match? As much as I disliked the match in general, Test's elbow drop off the top at December to Dismember was awesome. I also loved when RVD caught onto the cage and jumped back off (at Survivor Series). 3. What spot have you thought of that would be great in the EC? Anything involving multiple people fighting on top of a chamber. 4. Should this match be done less often, more often, or as is? As is, with the exception that there were two at No Way Out. 5. Should the match be reserved for title matches/contender matches? With this year's No Way Out, I think we learned that it works much better to determine a contender. None of the title match EC matches were satisfying ways to crown new champions, or retain.

    Observer Awards: Wrestlemania Style!

I listed Big Show on the opposite list. Show at this point is 1-6 in Wrestlemania matches. He jobbed in his first six appearances before finally beating Carlito and Chris Masters in a tag team match. What less can a promotion do besides not put him on the card at all? He has obvious talent, so that hardly seems optimum. I based this on the fact that Big Show headlined Wrestlemania 2000, which he had no business of doing. He didn't start pulling his weight in the ring until 2003 or so, and he's been singled out twice to perform in novelty matches against legitimate athletes to garner headlines (in 2005 against Akebono, and this year against Mayweather). But you're right in that he's done an awful lot of jobbing.

    Super Smash Bros. Brawl

I picked my copy up today as well. So far I'm loving it. Pit is awesome, I agree that a 3D Kid Icarus game would rule.

    ROH - Rising Above PPV

Ring of Honor is not worth watching. There is no pyro and the shows take place in small, dark buildings. Only a couple dozen people go to the shows and even less buy their DVD's. You need to wake up and realize that ROH is not the greatest, they are just an indy company. [/youtube douchebags] Anyways, glad you enjoyed the show. I've been looking forward to that Aries/McGuinness match since I first heard about it. I thought it seemed weird that there was little buzz over it from the NYC fans, though it seemed like most of them couldn't get over Nigel not being able to perform the next night.

So, turns out one of my friends

Ooooh, oooh, me next, me next! My cousin's ex husband is in the twilight of serving a lengthy jail sentence for raping a six year old, and for taping it and trying to sell it online. I was really little when she was married to him, so I don't have much in the way of concrete memories, but he was a big time douche of a husband too, so she got out before things got too messy (or at least that I know, I'm sure I was spared the gritty details). I only really remember him from a birthday party for their kids, where he showed up late and acted as if he was about the kid's age (10, I think). Also, there was this teacher in the next town over who used to direct and be involved with the community theater that my sister and I participated in. He directed two plays that my sister was in, though he had stopped being active when I joined. He got busted for molesting students, which seems to have been going on for the last 20 years. It was pretty mind bending.
  10. Well I see that, you could argue people aren't that attached to Jigsaw. But then again, how do you get them to care about a character? You give them a reason to with a storyline. If there was one storyline Jigsaw had, it was the unmasking. Now? I dunno. Yeah, that's true. I guess this was more of a means just to make Jigsaw fit in with the Vulture Squad more (a group of thugs and a lucha guy, hmmm).
  11. Come on now, it's not like Gabe has ever given us a reason to believe he follows "booking 101." Jigsaw unmasking on the videowire? Not the smartest move in the world, since it's not as dramatic as it taking place in front of a live audience. However, it's not the dumbest idea in the world either. The videowire has a large (by ROH's standard) audience and they got to do the angle without sarcastic chants. Would have liked more build, but oh well, it's not like the world was waiting on the edge of their seat for this.

    Campaign 2008

Of course Hannity is. I can't even believe that Hannity is a real person. He just comes off as being way too cartoonish, like he crawled out of some left wing comic strip making fun of right wing stereotypes.

    Smackdown to leave the CW

I'll be honest, I don't ever watch anything else on the CW. I haven't been interested in anything on CW/UPN besides wrestling since Buffy was on the air.

    It's Depressing

I like that feature. I show up on it once or twice a month.

    Smackdown *Spoilers* 2/19/08

Pretty good show tonight. Lots of solid wrestling, and I agree with the sentiments that Vicki is doing a good job in her role.
  16. And the weather DID destroy tonight's show! The card got thrown out in favor of a one night tournament. The results are still coming in over at the ROH board, and they sound decent thus far. Still, I hope ROH is taking notes, because this is the second time this has happened in the last three months. They might be wise to book less shows in wintery areas.
  17. Two solid looking shows. I hope the weather doesn't fuck up tonight's event, it seems a bit too soon to have Unscripted IV.
  18. And it lead to their most profitable year ever (IIRC), so yeah that would be a TERRIBLE idea. Im sure it was ALL because of Cena. Im sure it had nothing to do with DX being the hottest item since their return. Yes, I'm sure the 1 PPV in Jan. where DX wrestled and the 3 subsequent solo nights that DX "reformed" late in the year is what did it. Just so we're clear, John Cena and his never-ending title reign was the reason that I stopped watching WWE -- and I was a fan for almost fifteen years. And they've been doing great without you.

    Webster Hall Show

Yeah, no kidding. Sounds like a great show that went a long ways to developing some strong fan loyalty in a new market for them. This is exactly what they need to keep doing.

    General Marvel Discussion Thread

Yeah, that was the one I was thinking of. I'd heard a whole lot about how lame Civil War was from a lot of people, so I'd only skimmed over a few random issues here and there. Spider-Man was the only one where I read the whole thing (he's still my favorite Marvel character, even after all the bullshit they've done to him), and it was just horrible, pissed me off to no end. After finishing that piece of shit, I never even picked up anything else that bore the Civil War brandname. Okay, if that's all the Civil War you've read, then I can understand why you'd think that. I agree that Stark was a bit too villian-esque in that series, but I always figured that was only due to it being Spidey's book, with his perspective and motivations at the front. If you read the Civil War mini-series, you will get a much more balanced look at how things were playing out, at least IMHO. I've also been reading Wolverine Origins. It was actually that series that got me back into buying comics on a regular basis again, since I saw it on the shelf, it looked awesome, and it was #1 so I was going to be starting at the beginning. So far the story arcs have been hit or miss with me since (hated the Omega Red story, loved the Captain America flashback story) but I've been sticking with it. Wolverine is also hit or miss with the story arcs, but right now I really like the Mystique story.

Worst Show You've Ever Been To

That's funny. I saw Tool in October of 2006 and they were awesome (ditto for when I saw them in 2002 and 2001). Just not a Tool fan or used to enjoy them and don't like the newer stuff?

    General Marvel Discussion Thread

You're saying the story wasn't balanced? Captain America at the end saying "We're winning everything but the argument?" and then surrendering? The story also made it overwhelmingly clear why Stark was doing this and they made sense (innocent people were killed, and an angry mother called him out on it). It kind of sounds like they didn't do it the same way you would have, so therefore it sucks.

    General Marvel Discussion Thread

The climax of One More Day just killed Spider-Man for me, at least in the near future. I thought Civil War was excellent, and it made Tony Stark about a thousand times more interesting than he was before. Messiah Complex didn't let me down, though I question canceling New X-Men in favor of starting yet another new series (Young X-Men).

I guess I do too. I only know who Tom Brady is out of those names, and that might be due to me living in New England.

Weird "virus" I picked up on my CPU

Back in the summer I had something similar happen to my old computer, only it was Spanish rap music. We ended up just restoring the computer to factory settings, and everything was fine after that.
