I gotta say, those results sound disappointing. Hopefully it plays out better on television.

Yeah, Best Buy's two year replacement plan is indeed awesome. As a former cashier, I've sold many and have benefitted from them myself. To me, they are must-have on any game system.

That sucks. The Green Lantern is my second favorite DC character (the concept I mean before anyone points out the numerous Green Lanterns) behind Batman. RIP
-
Exactly. Also, I picked a team in case I'm busy when the deadline comes and I forget to alter it. This way at least I'll earn some points.

Last I knew, Sony's warranty was 90 days and only covered manufacter's defects. If that thing shits out on you by this time next year, you are shit out of luck. And having worked at Best Buy for three years, I have seen more than enough Playstations, Xboxs, DS's, Gamecubes, etc to say that store warranties are not a waste of money. You still don't have to buy it if you don't want to, but don't rely on manufacters too much. And even if your just going to sell it, of course you're not going to want it, but you don't have to be an ass about it either. And you really shouldn't do that in the store either, even though you technically have the right to. If that family's PS3 breaks on them, they may want to ring your neck.

Are you sure this was Best Buy? I've worked at one for three years and this is the first I've heard of any newsletter.

This Christmas season, I had to tell multiple people that Gamecube games do not work on the Xbox 360. Can anyone think of a reason why so many people would think they would? Other customers thought that there were Mario and Kirby games on Xbox too. This is a bit more understandable, as they were mostly parents confused over their kid's Xmas lists. A few days before Christmas a guy came in looking for a DS Lite. I told him we didn't have any. He angrily replies with "The guys at EB said you got a shipment today." I actually had to debate with him to not trust what an EB employee says about Best Buy, they don't know what they're talking about.

Ah, what the hell, I'll participate again. My starter team: Armando Alejandro Estrada Batista Bobby Lashley CM Punk Gregory Helms John Cena Paul London Sandman1/27/06

Honor Reclaims Boston is worth checking out too. I was at the show, and the Aries/Strong vs. Richards/KENTA main event is a forgotten classic in the making. Really solid undercard too, with very good Sydal/Castagnoli, Hero/Daniels, McGuinness/Walters, and Danielson/Delirious.

I've been quite pleased with my ROH buying over the past year. I went from being able to count how many shows I had on both hands (about this time last year) to having so many shows I've lost track of how many I've accumulated. Seriously, when someone stops handing out all their money to WWE for their shitty products and put it towards ROH, wrsetling is fun again.

ROH announce big four-way main event for 12/22
SamoaRowe replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
Yeah, I remember going to the 11/3 show (with Aries/Strong vs. KENTA/Richards) and thinking it was a much better show than what the 11/4 results sounded like, even though the 11/4 show had more hype going into the weekend. Still can't wait for that dvd. And the most obvious exception to your double shot rule must be 9/16 in comparison to 9/15 (Glory by Honor weekend). -

Sounds like a good show, but also an easily skippable one (unless all the reviews are raving about a series of **** matches, of course). That is really disappointing about Joe's injury, as I was also looking forward to Joe/Nigel from the Saturday show, as it already sounds like a must own DVD, despite not taking place yet. -
This pay-per-view looks as though it won't be a disappointment. It probably won't be "awesome" but it certainly shouldn't have any trouble topping Survivor Series or December to Dismember. And yes, there are way too many pay-per-views these days. And I haven't ordered a single one (though, in fairness, I was a bit tempted by Survivor Series, Genesis, and Turning Point).

Unless the reviews for this turn out to be terrible, this will be the first wrestling game I buy since Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain.

Wrestler of the year: Samoa Joe Tag-team/Stable of the year: LAX Match of the year: I only saw three pay-per-views this year, so I'm forced to go with Daniels/Joe on the first Thursday episode. Best heel: LAX Best face: Can't really argue with Eric Young. Most improved wrestler: Rhino (seriously, this guy had a lot of great matches this year) Quote of the year: I enjoyed Rhino's entire anti-WWECW rant. Markout moment of the year: The first Angle/Joe confrontation. Funniest moment of the year: The Nash/Shelly/Starr segments. Worst moment of the year: Jarret wins King of the Mountain. Worst wrestler of the year: Robert Roode... really, what exactly is so great about this guy again? Best PPV: Destination X (remember, I only saw three ppvs, I'll get to Turning Point, Genesis, Slammiversary, and BFG eventually). Worst PPV: Victory Road, least appealing card, IMHO. Biggest disappointment: Christian's world title run.

Wrestler of the year: Edge Tag-team/Stable of the year: Brian Kendrick and Paul London Match of the year: Chris Benoit vs. Finlay (Judgment Day) Best heel: Edge Best face: CM Punk (isn't he exactly what a babyface should be?) Most improved wrestler: Bobby Lashley Quote of the year: Edge cracked me up several times. Especially when he was looking at the Summerslam poster and says something like "And there in the back is Cena, looking like an idiot as usual." Markout moment of the year: CM Punk makes his debut in Madison Square Garden. Funniest moment of the year: DX gives Eugene some bounty. Worst moment of the year: DX has a bunch of midgets moon the Spirit Squad and McMahons. Worst wrestler of the year: The "Great" Khali Best brand: Smackdown Worst brand: ECW Best PPV: Wrestlemania 22 Worst PPV: I didn't see that many this year, and I liked the ones I did see. November To Dismember sounds like the shittiest one. Biggest disappointment: Rey Mysterio's main event push.

Actually, I think Brown's rambling serengeti crap will go over better in the WWE. Its the type of over the top silliness that would fit in great in the cartoonish world of World Wrestling Entertainment. The next time Rob Conway appears on Raw will probably to be squashed like a bug by a debuting Monty Brown.

Their song "Boston" has been all over the radio in this area for almost a year, and it's an alright song. I tried listening to more of their album on Rhapsody and I wasn't very impressed, but they are good enough for the type of music they strive for.

It's easy to long for Triple H holding the belt again since it has been close to two years since he did. But after a few months of Triple H on top again, the same people clamoring for it now would be bitching about how stale he is. Seriously, thinking that Cena is stale but Triple H isn't is just bizarre in my eyes.
-
Mark Henry would main event a major pay-per-view (Royal Rumble). Kurt Angle would go from Raw to Smackdown to ECW to TNA in less than a year. Shawn Michaels would not have any **** matches. Johnny Nitro would become a two time Intercontinental Champion. Booker T would morph into King Booker and become so hot he would become World Champion again. London and Kendrick would win the Smackdown tag titles and hold them for over six months. Finlay and Lashley would become main eventers.

You don't have to be wealthy to keep up with ROH. You don't really need to buy all the shows, I do fine with the bigger shows and reading the results online. They do frequent 10 dollar sales, buy 3 get 1 free sales, and other fun deals. Basically, if you take the money you've been spending on WWE shit and put it towards ROH, you'll be a much happier wrestling fan (that is unless you only watch the free tv shows).

More detailed results at http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/484...ts-12.08.06.htm Sounds like a decent show. The cage match sounds good and I like Albright being included more in ongoing angles and such.
-
Yeah... force of habit. If it sucks I'll turn it off at 10 and throw on one of the numerous ROH shows I haven't watched yet.
-
I think so, the last time I remember Helms defending the title was against Super Crazy.

It wouldn't hurt WWE, but at least the message would get across. It would also make Tuesday night's weekly abortion seem even more pathetic if the one connection to the old ECW they have is RVD, who they are having fun burying week in and week out.
