I don't know. Potential Monty Brown debut? Potential on-air burial of Paul Heyman? The possibility of a quality wrestling show with interesting angles and compelling matches? Hell, why am I going to be watching it...?
-
I'm pretty sure the contract is through June, but I could be mistaken.

Everyone uses the argument that if Vince is such an idiot, how come he's a billionare? Well, for starters, I'm pretty sure that he WAS a billionaire, but is now just a millionaire again, due to that brilliant venture known as the XFL. Secondly, like mentioned before, Hogan and Austin made him those millions, with help along the way from The Rock, Bret Hart, Undertaker, Randy Savage, etc. Thirdly, it's not like his competition in the wrestling business were real genuises either.

Yeah, Cornette isn't booking anything for TNA. That job belongs to Mr. Vince Russo. Having said that, TNA should boot out Russo and beg Heyman to come save them.

They won't pretend it never happened, they'll just pretend that they weren't the ones behind the comeback and that ECW's popularity was overrated.

Oh man, if this had been at the ballroom, that would have been classic! We can only dream about what could have been.

They still do house show refunds for no shows these days. I went to Smackdown over the summer, and Undertaker was advertised for the show (against Great Khali, ick) and he ended up not making it. Refunds were allowed until the second match and they subbed him with Batista (his first match back from injury). But still, it was awful shitty to take Sabu out of the main event, especially seeing as he was physically able to compete.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. This is the same company that booked Brock Lesnar to be a chicken shit heel... against Bob Holly of all people.

Considering Lashely started out as WWE's own version of Monty Brown and just became ECW Champion, I highly doubt they're going to want Brown on the same show as him. I actually don't really expect Brown to debut tonight (though it would be cool if he did) but Raw is the show that makes the most sense for him.

Okay, it's time to decide which brands the members of MNM and the Hardyz are going to stick on. It's killing the kayfabe brand boundaries by having them appear on all three brands like this.

Back to that "how much ROH can 80 bucks get you" discussion, how does this sound. I bought two ROH tickets during a ten buck sale. That's $20 dollars. At the show, they were doing a buy three, get one free deal. I bought four NEW shows from this year for 60 bucks. That's $80. For the price of these two shitty WWE ppvs, I got to see an awesome show live (main event was KENTA/Richards against Aries/Strong in a close to ***** match) and four of the best wrestling shows of the year on DVD (including Supercard of Honor and Glory by Honor Night 2). My point is that a lot of people make the excuse that they don't follow ROH because it's "too much effort" or "expensive" but from looking at that comparison, I'd say it is too expensive and unrewarding to be a paying WWE fan (unless you just watch tv, if that's the case, knock yourself out).

Yeah, I was disappointed with the twists of AXM#18, but I won't let that get in the way of a series that I've really loved thus far. I have mixed feelings about Mike Carey's X-Men. The first arc was pretty decent, it has kept me reading at least. And the Uncanny X-Men in space saga is starting to feel a bit dragged out, but I'm hoping that it will pay off with a satisfying conclusion... in six months.

I know I'm getting a few video games and dvds. Nothing too fancy. I'd love to get a Wii, which my girlfriend hinted being a possibility, but I won't get my hopes up I mainly got DVDs and books for my friends and family. I got my girlfriend a DS with Final Fantasy III. Otherwise, nothing too noteworthy.

Yes, Thanksgiving is this upcoming Thursday, but the real event is the day afterwards. The retail world refers to this day as Black Friday as it is the busiest shopping day of the year. This means that thousands of morons across the country are going to wake up at the crack of dawn to get started on their Christmas shopping despite having a full month until the big day and already having had lots of time to do it before hand. I work at Best Buy in Concord, NH. We are expecting a full line of people outside the store at 5 am, which is what has happened in past years. Needless to say, we are praying for a blizzard.
-
I actually had the best Black Friday yet this year. For some reason the customers were mostly very friendly. It was very strange and I almost began to wonder if I was dreaming or not.
-
What the hell. I was just thinking about him earlier today too (I recently read Essential X-Men Vol. 1 and I'm more than halfway through Vol. 2 now). R.I.P.

That's the worst news I've heard all day. Good luck to Piper, hope he kick's cancer's ass.

Ring of Honor 11.24 and 11.25 weekend shows
SamoaRowe replied to Hawk 34's topic in General Wrestling
Both shows sound like they were good times, though the 11/25 show sounds more like something I'd want to get on DVD. -
I'll be at Best Buy from 4:30 in the morning until sometime after 3 pm. It'll be a long day made even longer in that I'm a former cashier, turned media associate, who will be stuck on a register for the entire day.

Time for the annual bump. Best Buy might have something interesting going on with the Xbox 360 on Friday. The media supervisor was setting up a huge display of 360's in the front of the department while I was leaving this evening. Otherwise, I know there's going to be a set of good 2.99 dvd titles, apparently the ad is online somewhere, because tonight people kept coming in and asking us to honor the Black Friday sales early just for them.

He looks like someone spliced the genes of Randy Orton and Mr. Kennedy together.

Look, anyone who thinks that Cena is still getting heavily booed clearly hasn't watched a single Raw in the past five months. Since the summer, Cena has consistently been cheered for by the majority of fans. It gets to being stupid when I still read "Cena is hated, doesn't draw, etc" when every episode of Raw is packed with fans wearing Cena merchandise, holding pro-Cena signs, cheering for his every move, and then there might be a handful of guys booing him. In addition, what the hell is so bad about Cena's ring work these days either? I don't think he's had a single bad ppv match all year, and most of them have been tremendous. His television matches have all been fine also. Times have changed people, Cena has become the man in the WWE, whether you want to admit it or not.

Those recaps are pretty right on. The most truthful line was "a show full of *** matches" added with an exceptional main event. There was indeed not much interest in buying tickets on the way out, but personally I'm not sure if I am going to feel like driving to Boston in late January when there's a good chance of bad weather. Overall though, the show was a good time and I absolutely loved the main event.
-
I'll be there tonight with a group of people, I'm really looking forward to it. This is my second ROH show live, my first being Survival of the Fittest last year.

Why is the dude who didnt know who Jim Morrison was 2 years ago moderator of your music section? Haha, that's the first I've heard of that tale. Besides, I didn't decide who the mods were.
