    Hulk Hogan just called me

I got the phone call and the e-mail. I'm finding the whole thing to be hilarious.

Early Album of the Year Candidates?

"Songs for Silverman" by Ben Folds is going to blow everything else out of the water. It's dropping in 3-4 weeks.

    Top stars of all-time

My only surprise is that Bob Backlund placed above Stone Cold.

Why am I banned from the WWE folder?

I love how whoever sides with someone who has been unfairly persecuted in these folders gets labeled as being some sort of loser by the wannabe-hip pretentious ass-clowns who post here. It happens time and time again. Slickster shouldn't have been banned in the first place.

Why am I banned from the WWE folder?

Okay. It wasn't that bad.... Actually, the comment was uncalled for. If someone had said the same thing to me, I would have been equally offended.

    ROH/WWE Talent agreement made

Walters also jobbed to Team Angle in 2003 but no one seems to remember that (I only do because I was there in person, the match aired on Smackdown, not Velocity).

    Smackdown Spoilers??

As entertaining as the Angle and Cena segments sound, this show looks like shit.

    A few small newsbits

Heyman announcing the ECW ppv makes it sound more appealing because I'd love to hear what kind of shoot comments make it on the air. For example, if the show turns out in such a way that disgusts him, he'll make sure we all know it at home. Stephanie is having trouble without Vince around? Poor Steph! Perhaps she's not fit for her position afterall and the sagging ratings and crappy creative problems really are her fault. Cena should have spent 2004 working on those types of skills rather than wait to the last minute when he has a WWE title match coming up at Wrestlemania. Orton as a heel is a cool thing, so hopefully he'll bring some fresh air to Smackdown.

Markish impressions you had as a youth

I believed that Yokozuna was japanese, but then again, I'd never really paid that much attention to that detail or even questioned it for whatever reason. When I was younger I seriously thought Sunday Night Heat was taped seperately from the other shows and was just a smaller show that wasn't publicized that much and that fans would go to it anyway because wrestling was so hot at the time. Once again, it was just something I didn't put too much thought into (seeing the Smackdown apron under the Heat apron changed that concept).

    Tyson Tomko gets stitched up

I love how there is still XFL merchandise laying around the backstage area. And Ric Flair staring at Tomko was rather amusing.

    Rowe's WWE Diary

I've reached 2006 in my current WWE game and I want to do a diary, but I don't want to start over. I'm going to gradually post the background info and then get the diary going. Updates probably won't be as consistent as they should be, I am a college student with a part time job.I will do my best though, I hope you enjoy this. I just ask to give it some time and I promise I will make this interesting. The Story So Far... Ernie Rowe took over as booker of WWE in the late summer of 2003. He made some huge talent raids on other companies, and signed AJ Styles, Raven, Alexis Laree, Julio Dinero, CM Punk, Ken Shamrock, and Simon Diamond to long term contracts. However, not too long later, Linda McMahon made a very foolish investment that put the WWE in bankrupcy. The superstars all became very frightened and many stars including Undertaker, Faarooq, Bradshaw, Maven, Rikishi, Chris Nowinski, Big Show, Mark Henry, and Scott Steiner all jumped ship. Chris Jericho became upset with the new booker and refused to renegotiate his contract that would end within the next two years. Meanwhile, Rowe began pushing his new talent. Ken Shamrock made a great first impression on Raw, but politics had him squashed by Triple H within weeks of his debut. As a result, Shamrock turned heel and joined Evolution. During this time, Batista was released from his contract due to his failure to improve, and Simon Diamond debuted and joined Evolution. Raven, CM Punk, Julio Dinero, and Alexis Laree all debuted as the New Flock, and had an all out war with Evolution that lasted for many months. The current generation of main eventers did not get along very well with Rowe. Many of them were not happy with how the roster split was going and lost morale for being stuck on one show per week. This lead to Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and the part-time Rock becoming angry and not wanting to do their jobs properly. Rowe did everything he could to please the top stars. He even converted the Sunday Night Heat show into a two hour program to simply display the talent. This did not help matters any, and the stars refused to take orders from Rowe. Wrestlemania XX turned into a disaster of sorts for Rowe. He had signed Chris Benoit to face Brock Lesnar for the United States Championship as the second main event (taking place after the Raw main event that had Raw Champion Rhyno defending against Chris Jericho and CM Punk). Lesnar half-assed the match and was released immediatly after the show by Rowe. Rowe stated that "There are hundreds of workers out there who would have killed to have been in Brock Lesnar's spot that night, and they would not have f***ed it up." Benoit's morale was suffering as well. WWE and Benoit had a mutual seperation, but Benoit returned refreshed and ready to work a few years later. Kurt Angle won the WWE Championship from Eddie Guerrero at Wrestlemania XX as well, in another match that failed to live up to expectations due to Guerrero and Angle both upset with the direction of the company. Rowe figured that a WWE Championship reign would help Angle cheer up. It didn't work. For the 2004 Judgment Day PPV, Rowe booked Kurt Angle to defend his title against Shelton Benjamin. Rowe's logic was that Angle was a good enough of a draw to defend against a midcarder, and that by having a midcarder receive a title shot on a PPV would push the idea that "anything can happen in the WWE." However, Angle's attitude was reaching new lows. On the day of the PPV, Rowe made some huge changes to the main event. To prove a point, Rowe booked Benjamin to win the championship from Angle. Within weeks, Kurt Angle left WWE. Eddie Guerrero stuck around for about another year. He was moved to Raw, and was happy for a while, even became the World Heaveyweight Champion. However, Guerrero's in ring skills were on the decline from his age and he was impossible to please. A few months after Wrestlemania XXI, Eddie Guerrero left WWE. John Cena also left after morale problems that lasted for over a year. Cena never won any world titles, but he did headline Wrestlemania XXI in the fatal four way match that also included CM Punk, Eddie Guerrero, and Randy Orton.

How You Got Interested In Certain Bands

Ben Folds First heard "Brick" on a top 40 count-down. It wasn't on the charts (yet) but the DJs always played a new song right before the number one track, and that week it was "Brick." I was immediately captivated. I went on to purchase that album and every other recording Ben Folds Five released. Ditto for his solo act. I saw him live last year. Tool I saw the video for "Sober" one day and I thought it was one of the greatest things I'd ever seen. This inspired me to go out and buy "Undertow" in early 2001. Later that year "Lateralus" came out and I ended up picking that and "Aenima" up. That fall I went to see them in concert and once again the following year. Rufus Wainright He was on tour with Ben Folds, and I was unfamiliar with 99% of his work. He totally won me over that night, I know own 3/4 of his albums and a concert dvd.

Oh my.... a lot of these new additions sound like must-haves... can't wait to get home and download them. So, how is Kash vs EZ Money? Tremendous, I bet

    Rowe's WWE Diary

Just because I love reviving this thread, new shows have started elsewhere. They have been good (in my opinion).

    Not the right guy?

You mean that match with Orlando Jordan? Gee, while I was watching it I was thinking "wow, this is pretty solid, perhaps there is hope afterall." It was a good match with a good story, I thought it was at least **1/2, maybe even higher.

The Industry Is Shooting Itself Again

I had one of those free iTune downloads from under a Mountain Dew cap and I was going to capitilize on it until I realized how much of a pain in the ass it would be to get it. So I went on Limewire and downloaded five songs for free. The music industry can bite my ass, I've given them enough money throughout the years.

    SD! Spoilers

As long as it gets Paul London on the show... ... even if it's a three minute match with a minute long rest-hold spot and then a roll-up win by Chavo

DVDVR isn't letting me in. Is this happening to anyone else? EDIT: Nevermind, I'm in.
  22. Yes, Xavier did wrestle on Velocity during his ROH title reign. He jobbed to Chuck Palumbo. And the Walters Smackdown match I mentioned in that last post was April 2003, so it's been going on for a while too.
  23. I'm not sure what John Walter's relationship with WWE is. I saw him wrestle live on an tv taping of Smackdown once (not a dark match or on Velocity, but on Smackdown itself).

How Many WWE DVDs Has Paul London Been On?

Off the top of my head... No Way Out 2004: Heat match, teaming with Kidman and Ultimo Dragon against Tajiri, Akio, and Sakoda. I'm pretty sure he's seen in the background during a segment on Wrestlemania XX. Summerslam 2004: Six man tag, teaming with Kidman and Rey Mysterio against the Dudleyz. No Mercy 2004: Wrestled Kidman. Royal Rumble 2005: I'm pretty sure this is being released tomorrow, he's in the Rumble and is ruthlessly eliminated by Snitsky. No Way Out 2005: When it comes out, of course.

Maybe Richards shouldn't be the one to put over the green hosses anymore. First Heidenreich nearly kills him and now this.
