I voted for Evan Bourne, just because he's different from what WWE usually likes to push and he's been getting over very nicely as of late. If all goes well, Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes are both going to turn into big stars as well.

It's fun to vote in a poll that was created over a year before I ever signed onto this forum. I voted for Saturn, because I've always been a mark for him and I was never satisfied with his WWE run. It's crazy how many people on that list never amounted to anything above lower-midcard status, let alone "break the glass ceiling."

It sure does suck that the best "opposing viewpoints" that the conservative members on this board can come up with against Obama was that his preacher said some unfortunate things, his middle name is Hussein, and he once knew a guy who botched a terrorist attack or two.

Yep, I went to a TNA house show last night. It was at the same venue that hosted Lockdown back in April. Attendance at Lockdown was somewhere around 5,000 or more, and I'd make the (generous) estimate that there were 500 people there last night. It was about the same amount of people I'm accostomed to seeing at ROH shows, so it was kinda sad. Consequences Creed defeated Petey Williams. Okay-ish match, I got the impression they were just going through the motions and probably have had the exact same match at most house shows. Williams was a sore loser and hit the Canadian Destroyer on Creed after the match. Super Eric and Shark Boy beat The Rock n' Rave Infection. Good comedy match, the kids in the building loved it. Awesome Kong beat Roxxi. This was very short, with Roxxi getting in just enough offense to lift this from being a flat-out squash. AJ Styles defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir in a non-title match. This got plenty of time, and was what I would describe as "pretty good." Lots of USA chants, as to be expected. Intermission - Jeremy Borash announces a "big surprise" for everyone in the building for after the main event. Abyss beat Kute Kip. Really boring match. Robert Roode and James Storm beat Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin to retain the TNA tag titles. Match of the night, with lots of comedic antics from Storm. This got a fair amount of time as well. TNA World Champion Samoa Joe beat Booker T to retain the title. Decent main event, both guys looked good in this one. Booker kept getting on the microphone during the match to complain when things weren't going his way. Joe made Booker tap out to a rear naked choke. I was satisfied. The "big surprise" turned out to be all the wrestlers coming back to the ring for an autograph signing session. Fans could pay $20 to have their picture taken in the ring with Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. We ended up heading out, as it was complete chaos with the 500 people all surrounding the ring. So yeah, I had fun, though the show was nothing to brag about. I know it was a house show, but I think it's troubling that the decrease in attendance from April was so huge. I was expecting maybe 2-3 thousand people this time. I hope this doesn't turn TNA off from coming back to Lowell anymore, as I was hoping they would turn it into a regular stomping ground.

Uh oh, I was hoping it would be but I know I'm asking for too much.

It won't be much of a debate if McCain doesn't show up. I look forward to the Barack Obama Media Love In Hour. McCain comes off looking much better if hes in DC doing his job as a Senator while Obama is sitting in Mississippi talking about himself instead of doing his job as a Senator as well. If McCain doesn't show up, then Obama deserves to have an uninterrupted hour to make his case. And McCain "doing his job" is vastly overshadowed by this perception that he's running away from a debate (where chances are he's going to be creamed) while his numbers (finally) sink.
-
Is this a stunt, or a senator merely desiring to do his job? Realistically, both of them should have been back in D.C. weeks ago to help deal with this. I'm pretty sure the public would've understood, given the scenario. ***waits to be ripped for disagreeing*** It's not consistent with the McCain we've been presented with thus far. It wasn't that long ago he was talking about how strong our economy supposedly is and his advisor called us all a nation of whiners. Of course it's a stunt (kudos to CubbyBr as well, couldn't have said it better).

Now that's more like it.

ROH Live Report for 9/19/08 in Boston
SamoaRowe replied to Detective Comics's topic in General Wrestling
The show was very good. I'm not sure what people were expecting out of Hero/Lynn, but it was very well worked, hardly a disappointment. Delirious/Aries was pretty good. One of the better Delirious outings I've seen in quite some time, though obviously not up to par with what Aries has been doing as of late. Albright/Stevens vs. Pearce/Edwards was great. If anything was disappointing, it was the triple threat. Claudio was disqualified before too long (though he threw a spectacular beat-down on a gang of agents and students while before leaving), and the bit with Danielson/Shiozaki didn't quite click. They tried hard, with lots of stiff chops and the like. The scramble match was pretty short, I didn't really pay much attention to it. I took a bathroom break at this point as well. That Rhett Titus/Josh Daniels match was more fun than it should have been. The actual wrestling was nothing special, but Rhett's personality drove the match to an entertaining level. Nigel/Roderick was very good. I always appreciate it when I watch a title match where the logical part of my mind knows that there is no chance that the title will change hands, yet the challenger gets such a convincing nearfall that I believe it for a second. This match accomplished that. Steenerico/Age of the Fall was awesome. The crowd absolutely ROARED with applause for Steenerico's victory, and they both acted so genuinely happy with their moment and title win that it made for a special moment. The last two matches really made the show. -
I bet he'd be pissed if he knew I edited him to look like an overweight black guy in my Wrestlemania 2000 game.

That clip made me feel embarassed for McCain. Of course his defenders will just cry that he was attacked by a pack of mindless liberals, and the campaign will continue to have support of half the country.

I was hanging out in the Air America live chat room today, and my screen name was mentioned on-air during The Lionel Show. That made me feel pretty smug. I met the governor of New Hampshire, John Lynch, the other day when he was hanging out at the polls at the school I work at. Hell of a nice guy.

I'm pretty sure Mickie got rid of the skirts because of the move to make the shows TV-PG and cut down on the divas looking slutty or trashy. When she was performing in the skirts, we got lots of (nice) upskirt shots of her thong.

I'm having a blast watching the Raw's posted on the site. I didn't have cable in 1993, so most of the content in those shows are new to me. Is anyone else watching them for the first time in order?

I got Yoshi's Story for Easter one year and it took me a few days to realize just how disappointed I was with it. I don't think people actively dislike this game, but sometimes it seems like I'm the only person out there who LOVED Excitetruck for the Wii.

Ending discrimination is important. And I suppose your life has been miserable since gays in California got their fair share of that "marraige" word, eh?
-
Has the world ended since gay marriage started over there or something? And you really want to undo the existing gay marraiges? Why would you wish that on anyone? You must really fucking hate gay people.

I've seen the Bell match numerous times, and I always got the impression that Saturn cut loose on the guy because he botched a couple of spots.

I'm pleased about a second Jericho title reign, but there were about a hundred less retarded ways to go about getting the title onto him.
-
Punk now has the "I never lost the title" card, that's hardly being buried to me.
-
Yes, that worked wonderfully in 2002 when it came to the importance to the tournament and getting people ready for Brock's title shot. It's too bad the event itself was pretty shitty.

::sigh:: And Fox News wonders why they are the laughing stock of cable news.

That's J.D. Dunn doing those reviews. I'm also reviewing those old Raw's, they are generally fun shows.
