Controversy Creates Cash - Eric Bischoff
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
You...do realize the great majority of main eventers have had very plain looks, right? I mean, Austin wore plain black trunks, black boots, and black knee pads, later braces when he was hot. Hogan was visibly balding and wore plain yellow or white trunks during his prime drawing years. Eddie may not have been built, and the world may have not been ready for his main event push, but to say his look was low rent is silly. I will say that Eddie would've looked odd in the WCW main event scene, among guys like Hogan and Giant and Nash and such, though. And I could be wrong, but he didn't seem to catch fire until the second Lie, Cheat, & Steal run. That could be blamed on WCW not giving him proper time, perhaps, but I don't know when he came up with some of his gimmick ideas. Bischoff not being honest with him sucks, though -

I'm pretty sure it was good ol' Marty, but yes, that angle was very cool -
Last year they had La Resistnce in the Quebec tights but the videos and music for their solo runs, such as they were. It looks like generally the models are done for around Wrestlemania and then do the entrance packages just before finalizing

Huh? Did what? Lidle, crashed. In what way are you implicating a fan's involvement? I said IF. The thought just occurred to me, I was probably being stupid, and I'll admit that, but I wouldn't put it past some nutjobs

This really sucks, and if I find out some dumb fan did this, I swear to God I will give up on sports. I say this as a Red Sox fan. RIP, another was taken from us before his time

Are we thinking about the same Negima? Isn't this the new thing by Ken Akamatsu about the harry potter kid who teaches at a high school?

Announcers protecting kayfabe...
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Just John's topic in General Wrestling
Hogan doesn't like taking them, it seems, remember the botched one Taker gave him at...think it was Judgement Day 2002? I remember the announcer did the opposite and made it sound like Taker killed him -
Mark Henry? They tend to be very old school and prefer psychology to workrate, preferring the big hosses not selling like Henry does to an Abyss who sells most everything

For those who just need some time killers, Best Buy has a 4 epsiode subbed and dubbed sampler from Funimation of their Studio Gonzo stuff, it has Desert Punk(the cover of Volume 6 of that show must be seen: as well as Basilisk, Trinity Blood, and Speedgrapher, none of which I've heard god things about, but hey, free subtitled anime on a DVD

... Matt Morgan was never in a WrestleMania match. My bad....I could've sworn he was in the Taker handicap match at 19. At the very least he was there, on Smackdown no less....and he was in Survivor Series, sorry. -

I remember when Matt Morgan came back with the stuttering gimmick, and they acted like he had never been in WWE before, despite being in a WRESTLEMANIA match -

http://f4wonline.com/ http://smartwrestlingfan.com/ and...here's Dragonking, but they're saying Figure 4 is taking over their stuff, which is kinda sad in a way http://www.dragonkingwrestling.com/ If you don't want to get a podcast reciever, you can use an RSS reader like if you have a Google account, you can add the feed to your custom front page, but not ones you can just directly download the mp3s -
Steiner had the foot injury back then as well, I recall, now that's all healed up

When Russo was interviewed by RD Reynolds(which you can find at http://www.wrestlecrap.com/wrestlecrapradio.html) he said that his idea was to put the belt on Tank because it was something differant and unexpected. While I can appreciate the concept....a good, built up story will pop the numbers better than "oh, what kind of wacky hijinks will happen next?". At least, I think so

If it's mandatory, I'll do it when I finally get a chance to read it, I haven't been able to ojack in relation to OAOAST since school started, I'm really screwed

The ones I listen to are the free Figure 4 Weekly shows and Smart Wrestling Fan Review show. I don't think Meltzer podcasts, but I could be wrong. Dragonking is good if you like old school wrestling. I'll put up links if anyone cares -
It's a shame it has to stop, but thank you for doing these, it was very interesting to read

I recall hearing or reading a story about a woman who thought the mouse was like a gas pedal and was stepping on it -
Would Joey Styles repeating the "Mr. TNA" name for Kid Kash at One Night Stand count(technicallly, he eplained it as Total Nonstop Attitude)? That's all I got. These Ross reports are very cool though, I assume they're on his own independant site?

Memorable examples of WWE, burying a wrestler while..

It can't have been much worse than the beatdown of Hassan in the '05 Rumble, was it? That was a really disturbing moment. It just reminds me of how poorly handled the Hassan character was, Puder was stiffed because it was supposed to be him paying his dues, but Hassan was made a whiner and I think that's why the beatdown occured, but it also did seem racist, is that what bugged you? -
In my opinion, the best anime DVDs so far are the Excel Saga DVDs, mainly for the pop up AD-Vidnotes that explain all the references and such that makes the show even funnier

Is Cabbage still under contract? He seems like a fun undercard heavyweight/guy you feed to up and comers
-
I'm guessing he'll do any Hardcore Homecoming shows that still run and probably try ROH, he could probably fit in there
