MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
Masked Man of Mystery replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Bumping because I have some questions. I just got a used tape of UFC 20 at Blockbuster. They mentioned tha Randy Coultre was stripped of the Heavyweight title. Why didn't he defend it? Second, was the decision on the Rutten/Randleman fight considered very controvesrsial when it went down? I could easily see it going the other way(I'm trying to avoid spoiling the fight). Third, when did UFC stop having a 15 minute fight with overtimes? Fourth, when did they start requiring fighters to wear gloves? Finaly, why do some fighters have gloves with the Red Cross on it? I can't imagine squeezing gauze or anything into the glove. Thanks in advance. -
The Dark Knight Strikes Again
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Masked Man of Mystery's topic in Literature
Oh, I read American stuff, just I got into it after I got into manga. I got something called Welcome Back Frank that was a decent story about Punisher. While I'm thinking of it, what would people reccomend for Punisher? Daredevil(is Underboss a multiple er, what is it called, trade paperback? book? It didn't look finished at the end) and Spiderman are probably my two favorite superheroes. That reminds me, in the Spiderman 2 movie, why does JJJ say Spiderman is the only one who can fight Doc Oc? I mean, I know its a Spiderman movie, but I persoanlly think Daredevil vs Doc Oc could be fun, or even Punisher, or any of the other half billion Marvel superheroes who live in NYC. Ya know? By the way, sorry for rambling. -
you get into the proper position, say, holding the legs for Bret Hart, and press up when the bar is flashing. At least in the Gamecube version.

1. Princess Mononoke 2. Kiki's Delivery Service 3. Citizen Kane 4. Metropolis(the original silent movie) 5. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Maybe not in that order, but Mononoke is definately my fav movie, and I'd say Enter the Dragon would be like 6.

Thanks for the link, but where would I look for info on the Green Lantern? Or, could someone just explain the whole system because I know nothing of Green Lantern or the people who have been Green Lantern or however the thing works

Okay, I finally got around to buying Legends Of Wrestling 2(I have a Gamecube, so this is as far as the series goes for me) and well, I was hoping someone could help me do a CAW of Antonio Inoki. I've seen pictures of him and all, but I've never really seen him wrestle. Thanks in advance. We can keep the thread going if anyone else if looking for CAW advice.

WWE Raw V.S. Smackdown!
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Only The Strong Survive's topic in Video Games
Backstage Assault anyone? Seriously, that new match sounds like a mix of Revenge mode from Wrestlemania 19, Backstage Assault, and the backstage area in No Mercy -
Official Spiderman 2 Thread
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Dangerous A's topic in Television & Film
I personally can't get over the fact that the same person who dubbed Kiki in Kiki's Delivery Service is Mary Jane, but that's me, and I saw Kiki only a few years ago. Enough of that, I liked the movie, but there were a few scenes where the CG was EXTREMELY obvious and I don't recall seeing any that were quite as blatant(I'm talking things other than Spiderman) Maybe it's just I'm a person who isn't cazy about CG and so I look for it more, but whatever. Only other thing was I thought the inspiration for Doc Ock to become evil was WEAK. They're metal arms, for heaven's sake! Otherwise, quite good, I thought Harry was MUCH better, although I mostly noticed him in the first one seeming very wooden when he declared his desire for revenge in the graveyard. Put me in as someone who liked Daredevil(although it was very definately flawed), but I like the Spiderman much more. By the way, is it just me, or do people just not understand Spiderman? There were little kids in the theater where I saw it. Too many people I think see SPiderman and just expect the old cartoon or something, but Spiderman is so much more, and I can easily see little kids getting very scared by these movies, and they had the volume jacked up too high in my theater, which I wasn't crazy about either. -
I think if the WCW roster was infused with the ECW wrestlers and given a a show it might've worked. Take the best of WCW(Booker, Steiner, etc.), throw in the better ECW guys like Dreamer and RVD, and let the cruisers own the lower card. It'd sorta be like what Smackdown would be if they booked it properly. By the way, what kind of shape was Mike Awesome in at the time, I remember seeing him in thngs taped earlier and him being a darn good power man, and I'm amazed he wasn't signed into WWF proper afer Invasion.

James Bond book question
Masked Man of Mystery replied to Masked Man of Mystery's topic in Literature
Thanks, man -
Okay, I recently picked up Double Shot and began reading it and it mentions something called Skin 17. Don't tell me what happen, I want to find out myself, just tell me what book it's in(since the story doesn't sound like it would happen in a movie, but feel free to correct me). It doesn't sound like something that one could just write about the aftermath of.

The OAO Cancelled Shows that Should be Back Thread
Masked Man of Mystery replied to a topic in Television & Film
Azumanga Daioh(that series could go on for twenty years and I'm pretty sure I'd still love it) Excel Saga Hercules: The Legendary Journey(only because it was one of the few Tv shows I watched post Next Gen) Star Trek: The Next Generation Batman(the one that was just released on DVD) The Tick(the animated series) The Legend Of Zelda(not technically a show, just a segment, but still...) Earthworm Jim Yeah, I'm a video game mark. -
Ultimo Dragon to return to WWE in November...
Masked Man of Mystery replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
I can't freakin' believe this. He's the ULTIMO DRAGON! Would ANYONE recognize him without his mask? Urgh this just absolutely sucks and I hope somebody regains their sanity and he keeps the mask on -
I've read Have A Nice Day, Foley Is Good, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, The Rock Says and Pro Wrestling: From Carnivals to Cable TV. I liked the Foley books, disliked the Hogan book, found Rock's book to be uneven and when he swings into character it's disconcerting. Hogan's book was a waste and made me lose respect for Kevin J. Anderson(who I really liked as a Star Wars author at that point), and the Carnivals books was good, but too short and skips a lot of people. Also, it's take on puro is atrocious and acts as if Inoki, Baba, and Tiger Mask are the only superstars ever in puro. And he doesn't state that there are multiple Tiger Masks. If he had more space and he updated it(it ends with the death of Owen) it could be pretty darn good.

Thanks a bunch. So the Green Mile stuff doesn't fit into this at all?

I don't think 3 is revised now that I actually looked at the cover for longer than 3 seconds, it just has a new introduction, sorry.

When / If Angle Returns to the ring

Put me down as a Heyman supporter. -
I got a couple of manga samplers, something about "Marvel Age" Spiderman(WHAT is Marvel Age?), a reprint or something of the first Teen Titans issue, and a D&D thing
-
Oh, and is there a revised version of volume 4? My copies of 1 and 3 are revised, but I got 4, Desperation, and Rose Madder from my grandmother as gifts.
-
Okay as a Stephan king newbie, beside the actual Dark Tower books, what else should I read for the story and in what order? I currently have Rose Madder and Desperation beside volumes 1., 3, and 4 of Dark tower(I need to get the second book)
-
Eh, I'll put up a post or two if these are true and two of my favorite wrestlers win the tag titles
