What would be the best creative team possible?
USC Wuz Robbed! replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
And yet the people naming Vince Russo aren't? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh sorry, I forgot that he had absolutely nothing to do with WWE's success during the Attitude era and everything to do with the death of WCW, my bad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a honest mistake -
Yeah you said it. I didn't watch because I knew it was St. Louis winning. I don't care if Houston came within a hair of winning. They didn't. Along those lines, everyone believed the Patriots would beat the Panthers. Yet the Panthers made it a hell of a game. Who still won? The Patriots. Same thing here. Houston only delayed the inevitable. I'm sorry. It happened. All this talk about it being far from a foregone conclusion means JACKSHIT because the team I expected to win had in fact....won.

I became a fan of wrestling because of the in-ring aspect. I loved Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Chris Benoit, Dynamite Kid and a lot others who could actually wrestle. I could do without the "entertainment" but every match needs a reason for it to exist, so the ideal way for me to enjoy the product are simplified storylines leading to great matches. WCW fans agrees, apparently according to Matt Williams and his survey that Vince Russo disagreed with and threw out the survey so he could continue his crap.

It's Cena. I saw the cover in person at the game store. It's Cena. End of discussion.

What would be the best creative team possible?

I'd take anyone that would storyboard angles and that would have this cool concept of making a chart of people who are allowed to interact and who aren't. Like Chris Kreski, if he wasn't dead ( ). I also agree with Rudo that they would need fresh writers who would bring something new to the table. We are in a decline period and if history teaches us anything, each boom period began with a new and fresh idea. In 1983 it was Vince McMahon with a "roided up Californian surfer dude" who went on knocking off all the big fat heels. In 1996 it was Eric Bischoff with an incredibly lucky storyline of two men from "up North" invading WCW and making it their personal playground, as well as the heel turn of the aforementioned surfer dude that reflected his selfish personality. It also was because of a heel turn by a Canadian national hero where in America, the heart of the promotion, he was disillusioned by this new attitude of the promotion with a band of degenerates led by an egotistical man named Shawn Michaels. And well, it goes on and you get the idea. In short, a new idea goes a long way in repairing the image of wrestling. -
That's a moot point. It happened how it happened. Cardinals won. I expected them to. Don't overthink it. Other fans might have thought Astros had a chance, and for that, they can try to explain why they were watching the other series. I watched the ALCS, not the NLCS, because I knew from Day 1 of the beginning of the league championship series that it would be St. Louis representing the NL. Houston might have come close to winning and could have easily replaced St. Louis in the World Series, but did it happen? No. St. Louis won. Hence TO ME, foregone conclusion. Stop arguing my fucking opinion, because it's that... an opinion. Everyone's entitled to theirs and I'm not trying to start trouble. I'm sorry if I had better foresight than the ones that actually thought Houston could pull it off. What can I say?

Would you perceive Benoit or Undertaker to be lower and weaker, because those are the only guys I would even consider letting go over him, and in either case the jobs would be returned in a much more convincing fashion. And of course, I think it goes without saying that Lesnar has to go over Batista..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Taker is 40 years old. Brock has beaten him every time out. He should not job to Taker at all prior to Mania. Hell I'd keep Taker and Brock away from each other (though I would probably want to have Batista go over Taker to give him more credibility as a monster face). They were in middle of giving Benoit a push against Brock in early 2004 so in 2004 had Brock not left and Benoit not gone to Raw, it would have been credible if Benoit beat Lesnar. Now? With no visible push, it's less credible to have Benoit go over Brock. In fact I'd peg Benoit as Brock's first feud where he dominates Benoit to the point of killing him in the blowoff (Not kill off, but a near squash). This would anger the Benoit fans, but he has been jerked around too long that his credibility is a bit damaged. No reason to hurt Brock's credibility right now.

I think the Brock Lock was also known as the Stretch Muffler, not sure.
-
And look how that turned out for them. Boston/New York had more excitement around them than Houston/St. Louis....
-
The most effective storylines are the ones that are really simple. Two seemingly invincible guys going at it at the biggest stage of them all=money.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong as much as you don't seem to have a great knowledge and/or understanding of wrestling. You're not bad by any means, but you're still rough around the edges, and the only thing that can fix that is experience. Just watch more, say less, figure out why A leads to B, and you'll get there. Thanks for the advice. Ironically enough I've been watching since late 1980s but haven't become a "smark" til the 2000's.

Let me know what I'm doing wrong. I really want to improve the quality of my posting.

I was joking, because nobody watched the NLCS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can you blame them? It was a foregone conclusion. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, such a foregone conclusion that they had to play seven games to get a series winner. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't give a shit. The team everyone expected to win won. This is why no one watched. Houston only delayed the inevitable. Don't be a smartass.

I'm curious to see what you think of me outside that lame and silly Legdrop thread....

I have a book of codes for Animal Crossing that allows me to get any item I want. Anyone need something, let me know and I'll shoot the code your way, if you are too lazy to look it up... -
Wait a second. Why are you a Packers fan? *Tears up your Chicago fan card* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never liked the Bears. I watched the Super Bowl for years, but never watched any other football until the 1995 NFC Championship game where the Packers lost to the Cowboys. I became a fan of Green Bay at that point and have loved them ever since. I thought you lived in California? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I made that post in a jokingly way. I live in California but I'm a Chicago native. It's cool if you like the Packers, if I didn't grow up on the Bears I would probably turn out a Packers fan too..

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, no, no and no. The one potential big money match that they have on the table is Batista v Brock Lesnar as the WM 22 main event, and it has to be for the title. The biggest money would be with Batista still having the title and defending it against Lesnar, who would ideally go into the match undefeated. And under no circumstances whatsoever should Lesnar be anybody's hired gun or henchman. The Brock that gets over the most doesn't do things for other people. He does things for himself because he wants to, not because someone else asked him to. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. The hired gun thing is just so stupid. Brock wasn't that over when he was playing best buds with Angle. He is better off as a dominant loner that takes pleasure in F5ing/triple powerbombing everyone to hell.

I actually prefer it this way. Gives me a chance to watch both MNF (since I am a huge football fan) and Raw on their good days. -
Hey, let's make South Park self-portraits
