Let's compare VY to Steve McNair, since that seems to be the popular thing- I will combine McNair's first two years together (as he only played 13 games, starting 6 or so total in that span) What all this means, I don't know. Similar?

Did you just use a lame wrestling term? I thought you were better than that. And for the record, no I wasn't. I was saying your misguided beliefs are silly but they make you who you are presently, so keep truckin' on, I guess.

That's impressive to win a division you're not in...
-
That's why I said "so called". I didn't see the beatdown Philly laid on the Rams. I did see the Cassel-led Patriots do nothing much of note and still beat the Chiefs.
-
Yep, USC is just all about football, which is the name of the game here.

I thought Chris Masters had to go by the name Chris Moore?

Ugh I miss out Chicago/Carolina by a few miles, well... At least I get to see how horrible the so called worst team in the NFL (Rams) are.

How the hell could Ohio State rock USC? It'd be a close Ohio State victory or a close USC victory or an USC blowout. The only way Ohio State murders USC is if it's University of South Carolina you meant.

I was worried about the show (got it tivo'd) after reading the negative comments. But thank you LOTC for redeeming my hope in it.

Same thing, Jake Roberts's DDT is a death finisher, but to most wrestlers using it, it's a transitional spot or false finisher.
-
Yeah. Nobody was going to miss Aaron Rodgers's full time debut as starting quarterback of Green Bay Packers against division rival Minnesota Vikings.

DIRTY BIRDS RETURNS! Or not.

Compared to that prediction you threw out along with most people I've seen that's calling a 40+ deficit game for Ohio State, yeah that's fucking subdued.

I was telling my wife that Merriman probably saw the writing on the wall (The Chargers are not bonafide Super Bowl contenders, but merely a playoff team) and decided the risk wasn't worth it anymore.

Dude, relax. As bad as they looked last night, the Raiders are definitely a team on the rise... just not this year. I don't know what there isn't to like about them. Great tradition, awesome color scheme, young quarterback with a rocket launcher for an arm, and their mystique (even if it's been dramatically undercut in recent years due to shitty play). If I wasn't born a Bears fan, or lived in San Diego where Chargers mania is running wild, I'm pretty sure the Raiders would be my team of choice. Oh and here's another possible reason, their head coach is a former USC coordinator.

I don't see the connection there. Vince Young started "crying" not because he was hit. But because he was being booed, his offense wasn't clicking, and he hates his offensive coordinator, even though he's a better OC for Vince than Norm Chow was. Something like that.

I'm not sure about that review, but I will say that the film won top prize at the Venice Film Festival just a few days ago, and it's receiving quite a bit of buzz within the industry. Yea I've seen all very good reviews from critics. Critics and I dont mesh well. I was hoping to see some wrestling fans point of view on the movie. By that do you mean you like steaming piles of shit for movies? -

Only if we get to see him rant at a fast food employee over the use of insider terms. -
Yep. That's how I'd do it all the time. It's not like I'm going to be threatened by TNA and their monster ratings... Ironically when the WWE does it, people think they are in "holding pattern". That shows just how different today's fans and insiders see things now.

Well... Jericho is one of the hottest heels in years. To take the belt off him next week would essentially kill him dead. Might as well release him after that. People bitch about bad booking at Unforgiven, then offer this shit on a plate? -

Christ. Jericho JUST won the thing and you guys want it back on Punk? -
Backstage vignettes, promos, jobber matches, multi-man matches, or be held off the show altogether. It's not NECESSARY to always physically see main eventers on the show. Just the guys that fans are likely to pay to come to see. The point is to make fans want to pay to see those guys wrestle the big time matches. However I recognize that it's impossible to go back to that model.

Something is really wrong if the team thinks you might off yourself...

RAW's ratings could be noticeably higher by consistently making PPV-quality main events and announcing them a week in advance, like tonight. The roster is deep enough to support doing this. Maybe they're finally getting it. PPV-quality main events should be saved for PPV's, with rare appearances on free TV. Ratings are pretty irrelevant, except when it comes to re-upping TV contracts. They don't get money from advertising. Personally, since I don't order PPV's, I like seeing the big matches on free TV, but from a business standpoint, it's best to get fans to pay for those matches. To which then people complain about how shitty RAW is, or how there wasn't enough emphasis on wrestling that night, or they're not doing a good enough job to make people want to buy the PPVs, etc. So they're pretty much damned if they do, damned if they don't in the eyes of many fans, at least from what I've observed. I always thought the biggest match the WWE should give away on free TV would be a midcard title defense. But you can thank the Monday Night Wars for dramatically changing how Vince thinks his shows should be booked.

You know why Chicago has a better chance to win against Carolina? Their defenders aren't going to stand around like the Chargers did.
