  1. No. Hogan wanted to win both matches, Shawn wasn't willing to play ball, and neither was WWE, really. And then when Shawn cut the post-Summerslam promo, Hogan just didn't want to do it anymore.
  2. There is a difference between seeing it on live/taped TV and putting it in games.
  3. The Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox are among AL leaders. That's how serious I take records at this point.
  4. No need to be condescending. I have yet to see WWE try to publicize the Pepsi aspect of the character. And as long as it isn't focused on (which it isn't), I am sure Pepsi would only appreciate the free advertising they get from millions (ok maybe not) of fans watching WWE and seeing the logo tattooed on an arm. By the way, you cannot sue someone for a tattoo. Well you can, but you'd lose.
  5. But this movie is probably going to be like that Speed Racer movie that looks godawful.
  6. I'm just saying. I know that this is a thread to bitch about it, and it should be. But I just guess I don't see the point in that. I would NEVER expect it to be any good under those guidelines, so I just move past that. I'd probably watch it just to see what the fuck it's about and how they butcher it/deal with the details that Dragon Ball prides themselves in.
  7. This thread makes me laugh. How can anyone expect this movie to be any good to begin with? First off, it appears to be made by American people. Second off, it's live action, people. LIVE ACTION! Third off, movies are never really made well from animes, especially when it is made by American people and LIVE ACTION, people. LIVE ACTION!
  8. Or this will be used as a way to explain Angle losing, "I was distracted by this Karen thing!"
  9. Why would they? It's free advertising for the Pepsi company.
  10. What was his point though? Is he saying Jim Rome's show sucks or something?
  11. The fuck? Golden State eliminated Dallas. Does that mean Golden State has the blueprint for success? No. Look, there was a reason Phoenix traded Shawn Marion for Shaq. It wasn't to shore up that offense. It was to get someone that could in theory block shots and disrupt the inside game for other teams. If they had to trade for a 36 or something year old center whose body is breaking down, that tells me that Phoenix is realizing what they had wasn't going to cut it. Citing a few conference finals appearances and a second round appearance does nothing to dissuade the argument that they are not good defensively, not on the level that they can win it all. That's what my argument is. You need a defense that is good enough to win it all. Phoenix can score all the points in the world, but other teams are just going to do better than them, until Phoenix plays defense better. The Jordan Bulls didn't win championships until they put a better group of defenders around Jordan and Jordan stepped up his defensive game (wasn't he Defensive Player of the Year a few times?). Look at those teams, only Jordan and Scottie Pippen presented a consistent offensive threat for other teams to worry about. No one was spending nights worrying how to stop BJ Armstrong, Horace Grant, Steve Kerr, or Luc Longley. What they offered to the Bulls were defense, and that's what pushed them over the hump.
  12. Doesn't help that the Suns' defense isn't that good either. But you'd never hear that from Ripper, of course.
  13. Just curious, how viable would it be for Tanahashi to have won the Carnival instead, then put over Sasaki in the TC title match, with the idea that an AJPW guy would win the Climax later this year and jobbing to Nakamura (or whoever the NJ champion is at the time) at the Dome show?
  14. He was someone the WWE fans really got behind. Not on the level of Eugene or Hornswoggle, but on a level that he deserved a shot to see what he could offer on the next level in WWE. They didn't give him that chance. That's what they missed out.
  15. As VX said, that would be bad. And who knows? Maybe Brett would just go "Oh well" and get back to mowing his lawn, leaving you with no viable QBs.
  16. My name defaulted and it refuses changes from my control panel and even a moderator's attempt to change it.
  17. So how about them Tigers?
  18. What the fuck is this?
  19. Lushus you said there was too many mods. Why advocate adding another? I'd be okay with MiB being a mod if he was replacing someone already on the staff though.
  20. The Orioles supposedly has the 2nd worst starter ERA in the entire MLB, only behind Florida. That doesn't bode well for their long term season health.
  21. I'm a fan of the White Sox and even I'm not that optimistic about their pretty good start.
  22. Thing that bugs me is why does the media want to cover up the person's identity? Is it that hard to say "Wrestler X left a stash of HGH in this man's home., blah blah"?
  23. I don't know for sure if this happened but I'd assume Phil Jackson has won COTY when Michael Jordan won the MVP?
  24. Remember when Bosh was all googly eyed over how much faster the playoff pace was? That was funny. In other words, Magic should be able to beat Raptors in a 7 game series, but it could really go either way. Why argue though, those two are just battling to get eliminated by Detroit or Boston.
  25. That's really silly of you to assume I'd do something petty like that. Conversely, you should be aware that there are two Bears fans and an SC fan on staff as well. We all balance each other out, as seen here: If he pulls that, I'll put them right back. I'll only pull posts I see fit to pull. To paraphrase Agent, internet discussion is like a fungus, it's best left alone in a warm, moist environment to grow. This might have been mentioned before, but apparently it bears repeating: The biggest difference between our mod staff and previous ones is that we don't intend to just slam down decisions and that's that. The staff folder is extremely active and we're constantly discussing board matters and suggestions, so keep that in mind- we all have an equal say in what goes on. If a decision is made, it's usually made uninamously, such as the matter with MikeSC. We're pretty diverse in opinions, and we might disagree on what's best for the board, but if we can't all come to a compromise, nothing will get messed with. I don't see a situation like that arising, so for the most part, just remember we have a system of checks and balances here. I should have mentioned I was kidding about expecting that to happen. I'm just making an example of the possible situations that may arise. I trust the mods including VX to be above that.
